How do i undo "forget this network"

so i finally find out why my ipod touch 4g wont automatically join my home wifi network when my wifi was reset and i rejoined i accidently clicked forget this network so i have to keep amnually joining it i know its not an ipod issue since it automatically connects fine to my friends house it may be the router contributing too since its old but i think it was the forget this network so if theres anyway that can be undone id like to know thanks

This advice didn't do the job for me--at least not entirely:  "Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You will have to rejoin all networks."  I followed those directions and still had to keep signing in each time I returned home.
Elsewhere there was advice to reset the router.  Instead of doing an entire reset of the router (which seemed daunting since it required re-installation of a firmware upgrade to this 6 year old AirLinki101, Model AR420W), I used the current router software to change the "Network Name (SSID)" from "default" to something that sprang from my imagination.  With this new name, I've been able to connect now without having to enter the password anew.

  • How do I undo Forget this Device

I was trying to re-pair my Jawbone bluetooth headset and thought I had to "dismiss" the old pairing by hitting the Forget This Device button. Now I can't get the iPhone to recognize my Jawbone at all. How do I undo the Forget setting? I have already reset all settings and I have already reset network settings..none of these worked. Can anyone help please?

    Do this:
Delete the Jawbone's profile from your phone, turn the Bluetooth application in your phone OFF and then perform a reset on the iPhone by holding both the home and sleep buttons at the same time until the screen shows the apple logo, then release. Next, reset the Jawbone. To reset your Jawbone, first power the Jawbone on and make sure it is disconnected from the phone; the LED light will flash red every few seconds when the Jawbone is powered on and disconnected. Next, press the headset's buttons in the following order: NoiseAssassin, Talk, Talk, NoiseAssassin, Talk, Talk. For help locating each button, follow this link: http://aliph.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/aliph.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?p_faqid=124&pcreated=1213119345.
If the reset is performed successfully, the Jawbone will enter pairing mode (the LED light will begin flashing back and forth between red and white). At this point, turn your phone's Bluetooth ON and ask for it to search for a device. Once the Jawbone is found approve the pairing and connection and when prompted for a passkey enter four zeros (0000). The Jawbone should flash white every few seconds once it is on and connected. (Here's a link that will also help with the pairing process: http://aliph.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/aliph.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?p_faqid=154&pcreated=1242753069)

  • How do i undo 'forget network' on iphone 4

I clicked in 'forget network' when setting up my wi-fi connection on my iphone 4. Now I cannot access my wireless network, how do I undo this?

    Copied from my previous post.
Selecting Forget this Network for a wireless network your iPhone has successfully connected with should not prevent the network from being shown as an available network to join and rejoining the network.
The Forget this Network option on the iPhone is for forgetting or erasing a wireless network on your iPhone that your iPhone has connected with so your iPhone does not automatically connect with the network when returning within range of the network.
This is not for not having an available wireless network from appearing in a list of available networks to select and join the network. There is no option on a computer or device to prevent an available wi-fi network from appearing to select from when in range of a network that is being broadcast.
If you don't want to join this network, don't select it, but you can't prevent the network from appearing as an available wi-fi network to join.

  • Forget This Network stopped all access to available network configurations.  How can I enter IP Address, Subnet Mask, etc. to get back the only network available.  HELP!!!!

I selected Forget This Network on my iPhone 5S by accident. Now I can see the network but none of the IP Address configuration is there.  The phone keeps searching with no result.  Been doing this for 2 days.    I have the IP address information, but I cannot enter it.  I have reset my Network settings, restarted my iPhone, Renewed the Lease.....  I must get wifi soon!!!!  But how? Two weeks ago I had the most current update for my operating system....

     Hey Jeanne,
The last thing you can try is to reset the network settings on your iPhone. It will clear out the other networks that you have joined. Let me know if this helps.

Bought a new iphone 6 with Verizon plan 2/11/15. Tried to connect with my home wifi  3 or 4 times with I thought the correct password but now it says Forget This Network and wont let me try again. Can't its the only network available. How do I clear this and start over. Thanks, this laptop connects fine but this is my first smartphone and  I don't see why it gives a crap if I  mess up 50 times! Help!

Help is right here for you Omichael! Let's get you conneted
to your home wifi. May I ask are you able to connect to other wifi networks? If
so then please forget your home network again, turn wifi off, reboot, and
retest. If this doesn't work then you will want to reset network settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that
this will delete ALL wifi passwords that you have saved.

  • WiFi:  How do I force a "Forget this network"

I have a network where the temporary password has expired.  When I walk into the building, the iPhone tries to connect.  I'd like to forget the network, but i can't forget it until I successfully login.  But i can't login in bacause the password has expired.
So how do you force a forget when you can't login to the network first?

You can reset your network settings which would effectively erase ALL of your wifi passwords. Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings
I think that is overkill ...
If you go into Settings/Wi-Fi, then tap the arrow to the right of the network name it should bring up the network's settings. In there you'll see a "Forget this Network" option. You do not have to be logged into this network to do this.

  • I accidentally tapped "Forget this Network" while attempting to sign in to my wi-fi. Now I am unable to sign in to my wi-fi. Please HELP me reset the "Forget this Network" so I am able to sign in.

I accidentally tapped "Forget this Network" while attempting to sing into my wi-fi network. Now I am unable to sign into my wi-fi network. If anyone can tell me how to undo this "Forget this Network" it wound be most helpful. Thank you.

All you need to do is input your wifi password. If you cant remember it, try looking on the router. It might say somthing like WEP key, or WPA key.

  • I need to "forget this network". Wrong icon showing

I was told to tap the "arrow" in the blue field, but my ipad only shows an "i" icon. How do I get to the "forget this network" so I can reset my wi-fi connection?

Settings>Wi-Fi tap on the blue i in the blue circle next to the right of the network that you have joined.  If you haven't joined that network or already forgotton the network, you will see Join Network.

  • "Forget This Network" Option

i recently told my ipod touch to "forget a network", but now, i would like to join it. is it possible to do this? if so, how can i tell my ipod touch to "remember it"?

    That makes sense, thank you.
The scenario i'm talking about is this - I'm at home, my home wi-fi isn't on so my phone asks me if i want to join a nearby network, this network is one i don't want to join (i also don't have the password for this network) so i say no. Before 2.0 & 2.0.2 i'm sure i would be able to go 'Settings' > WiFi > 'Choose a Network' > Find the network i don't want to join > tap the blue arrow > the click 'Forget this Network'. This would then stop my phone asking if i want to join this network.
From what you are saying (i think), is that i must connect to that network before i can instruct my phone to forget it?

  • Hi All. I reluctantly upgraded to IOS 7 last night and now cannot access my home WIFI, all other non Apple devices are fine. I have reset, it will not allow me to 'forget this network', doesnt show the option. I have turned on and off

Hi All, I reluctantly upgraded to IOS 7.1.1 on my IPAD last night , reluctant as every upgrade which promises fixes which dont impact me causes problems that do , which I fix via this community. Today I can no longer access my WIFI at home, my non Apple devices all work fine.I have tried all the online suggestions I can find for this, reset facgtory settings, it will not allow me to 'forget this network', I try to reconnect and it asks for my password which I know is correct and it says it cannot access my network. It can access an unsecured one I believe, but that is not ideal. Any fresh suggestions would be really welcome, please. Many thanks

Thanks so much for your reply, yes I did and that has not worked either . A friend has suggested re installing upgrade, so may try that .

  • I pad says forget this network what do i do?

I have an Ipad2, Version 7.1.2 (11D257) the model is MC769LL/A. Can't connect to my WiFi. It is saying forget this network. I tried. This is my internet service but I can't conneect to it anymore. This happened while I was using my ipad. I can see others but my network say forget this network. went through steps to restrt did not work.

Are you tapping in the on the right side of the name?
If so, then that is normal. Its the option to forget the network inside the network details page.   Nothing to worry about .
As to why its not connecting, tap on the name of the network, rather than the .
You can tap on the "Forget this network" button to remove it, and try to connect to it again. It will ask you for the network [assword again.

  • I pressed forget this network, please help me fix...

so basically i have my Cable Modem connected to my Airport Extreme(5th Gen) also my DirecTV is conncted to my airport router. I have all three things going on at the same time, my whole house has wireless from this Extreme.
whenever i reboot my internet i unplug the power cord on both the Cable Modem and Airport Extreme 5th Gen. and DirecTV plus iPad Air and a HP cpu. after reboot everything i just named all have fast wireless interenet for Two years, then last week i accidently hit forget this network(my network), after that i can't seem to get my 5th gen extreme to work, so right now i have a straight connection to my modem to my macbook pro..
help me please to troubleshoot my extreme, it still has that stupid AMBER LIGHT, i cannot install this like a new airport, so i don't know if i need a software to recover from me hitting "Forget This Network" from the Airport Utility app from my ipad air. since last week i can't fix this
help me please i would so appreciate someone's knowledge

factory reset your extreme and re-run the setup either with airport utility on a Mac or the airport utility app on an iOS device
Press and hold the reset button with a pen, pencil, or straightened paperclip until you see the status light (LED) start to flash amber rapidly, which should occur after about five seconds.

  • TS1398 Forget this network does not appear. It only allows me to join a network.

The forget this network does not appear... Only gives me option to join network.  I need to forget network. I hit the i button and it doesn't appear.

Odd...the only other thing I can suggest is to reboot the Wi-Fi network at work (if you can) and try again.
EDIT: Do you use something called Quickconnect client to setup a wireless connection? If so, this may help:
    (via Google)
To remove the wireless profile from an iOS device:
Go to Settings > General > Profiles
Select the profile you wish to remove (eduroam or UI-Wireless-Setup, for example)
    Select Remove
If asked, enter your device’s security PIN number
Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

  • 'Forget this network' option not there.

    Hello–
Since upgrading my 3G iPhone to 2.0.2 (5C1) the 'Forget this network' option is not there in the 'Wi-Fi Networks' screen.
It's very annoying to say the least, anyone else have this problem?
    Any solutions??
    Thanks in advance.

  • Accidentally hit "forget this network" on wi-fi - HELP!!

I was connected to a public wi-fi and was logged off or trying to get back on b/c it was slow and I accidentally hit "forget this network" b/c i thought it would just disconnect me. Now I'm trying to get back on and obviously I can't b/c none of the wi-fi's information is stored anymore. Besides resetting all the information on the phone is there any other way to get back on to the wi-fi? I work in a hospital and don't get regular service and have to connect through their wi-fi.
    Thanks!!

Just get the network name and password again from someone. Or call up your IT department.
