I'm finally trying to update my iMac but I need help uninstalling 10.4.11 and installing 10.6, something I've never done. What suggestions or pointers do you have? What resources have you found helpful? I'm a novice so it can't be filled with jargon. Thanks. Arcata

You need to first determine if your iMac meets the system requirements for installing OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
To upgrade to Snow Leopard or install Snow Leopard for the first time, you must have a Mac with:
Â An Intel processor
Â An internal or external DVD drive, or DVD or CD Sharing
Â At least 1 GB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended)
Â A built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
Â At least 5 GB of disk space available, or 7 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools
Then you need to purchase the retail install disc of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard here.

I upgraded to iLife 08 from 06 (bad move). I couldn't install iMovie because my Mac is too old (must be Intel-based or comparable). iDVD didn't work--the document window was always black, even with a theme selected. The Virtual Band function in GarageBand did nothing whatsoever. I trashed the '08 applications, moved all Preferences files to my desktop, reinstalled iLife '06. Now, iDVD won't launch--just flashes the menu bar and exits back to the Finder. So, I have several DVD projects on my system that I cannot finish because I cannot reinstall iLife '06 (like the originator of this problem, "How can I uninstall iDVD '08 and install iDVD '06?") I hope someone has an answer as this is frustrating and costly to my small business.

Partition is gone but my computer is sitll trying to boot to the window sides (it did this automatically before). Open the Boot Camp Assistant in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and use it to restore the drive to a single partition setup. If it's not there, use Pacifist to extract it from your install DVD and run the combo updater for your OS version.

Symantec are working on updates to make their add-ons work with Firefox 4. pending this, to revert to Firefox 3.6, first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I installed firefox 4 to play applications in Face Book. It keeps crashing. I never had this problem with firefox 3.6.13. I can't get any help why firefox 4 keeps crashing in the middle of the games, this happens constantly. So now I want to uninstall firefox 4 and reinstall firefox 3.6.13 until I can figure out why firefox 4 keeps crashing all the time. When it crashes, it always says application did not leave a crash dump report or something to that affect. The Box containing "This happened" I put Every time Firefox opened because the ones do not apply. But it doesn't happen everytime firefox opens, just when I'm playing in my games in Face Book, sometimes as soon as I load a game, sometimes in the of the game, and mostly when I visit neighbors.
