How do I uninstall apsdaemon.exe

I have been having trouble, lately, when launching iTunes for Windows (Version 10.5.2.11). I start it and nothing opens. Then I go to the task manager and see the process running, but also APSDaemon.exe at 50% of my processor. I stop the APSDaemon process (with the usual warnings pop-up) and iTunes disappears, as well. Then I launch iTunes, again, and it starts (as well as APSDaemon.exe) and eventually, after a few seconds, things work.
How can I un-install/start...whatever, APSDaemon.exe?

Sorry that took so long but I've been trying to work out an easy way to check certain settings. I hope this method fits that aim...
1. Please select the text below and then press CTRL+C to copy it.
cmd /k REG QUERY HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run /v APSDaemon
2. Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the Run... dialog.
3. Paste the text into the box with CTRL+V and then press enter/return.
A command prompt window will open and display a message reporting either:
Error:  The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value
or something similar to this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    APSDaemon           REG_SZ  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\APSDaemon.exe"
Please tell me if you got an error, or post back the string value including any surrounding quote marks.
In addition can you tell me if the file APSDaemon.exe exists in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support.
Thanks,
tt2

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

Firefox 6 will not load when I click the icon. I have tried to uninstall it, both through the control panel and going straight to help.exe. In both cases nothing happens. How do I uninstall this program?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Running windows 7 never had a problem with iTunes until I tried to downlaod update yesterday...iTunes will not open and have error message 'MSVCR80.dll  APSDaemon.exe system error......
How do I fix itunes and and the system error?   Thanks

Murray3703, only one other time did this happen to me.  It was over 6 years back when I had an iPod Nano and after doing the reinstallation, it wiped out all of the content and applications and corrupted by Nano to the point Apple said it could not be fixed.  I had no other things corrupted on my laptop.  So, I know it was not a virus.
I have tried fixing the problem with redownloading and "repairing" the problem but, it did not work.  Since the Nano incident, I am somewhat reluctant to do this for fear that I will loose all of my content and paid applications to apple?  I also have Windows 7.
Did you have any issues with uninstalling and reinstalling? Thanks.

  • APSDaemon.exe Error Message

What does the error message APSDaemon.exe missing from computer mean? I can no longer access itunes from my Windows computer. How do I fix this error? It seemed to happened after I tried to download the lastest update from iTunes.
    Thanks,

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.

  • On start up, my PC gives me an error APSDaemon.exe and my iTunes will not launch...is there a fix and if I remove and reinstall my iTunes, will I still have my content?

May I get some insight, My PC (i know thats part of the problem but help if you can anyway) gives the APSDaemon.exe error wessage and will not allow my iTunes to open...if I delete and reinstall, will I still have my content as it may be an iCloud issue as well??? I'm not sure and appreciate the assistance.

    Try the following user tip:
Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content. (That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times in case of disasters of any sort.)

  • I am trying to download latest Apple Itunes update to my Toshiba laptop and got the following system error message:  APSDaemon.exe

While trying to download the latest Apple Itunes update to my Toshiba laptop I got the following
    message: APSDaemon.exe system error.
I uninstalled Itunes and tried again, but got the same message.
    Help, please

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
