How do I uninstall FCP X?

My friend has FCP 6 and recently updated to FCP X.
The movie we're making was originally opened on another computer with FCP 7.
Now when we try and open in FCP X it's not compatible.
How do I uninstall FCP X? Then, how do I reinstall FCP 6, without loading the prior update of FCP 10?

Use FCS Remover to unistall the apps http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/
If the project has been opened and saved in FCP7 you will not be able to open it in FCP6. You need an XML export from FCP7 to be able to recover the project.

I have had FCP since they released the universal version. It has worked perfectly on my computer. I had an external harddrive connected to my computer. It recently stopped working and I had to return it and received a new one. Since I disconnected the hard drive, FCP also started to not work. Every time I would try to open FCP it would begin to open, the icon would bounce, and then it would close. I went to the apple store (waste of time) and they told me to uninstall FCP and reinstall it. Well, I thought that this would be an easy task. I attempted to just trash the entire FCP Studio and reinstall it, but every time I do, all the other programs except FCP reinstall...FCP just has a choice to UPGRADE it and even when I do that now I can't even get FCP to begin to open. I'm totally confused. How do I get FCP to work again on my system? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I uninstall FCP X Trial (I want to purchase and re-install "properly")?

I installed the FCP X Trial app and have decided to purchase and go forward with FCP X, but have some questions:
I see from the Apple FCP installation best practices document (HT4722) that it's not advisable to install along with Studio (instructions I did not follow in my hasty installation the Trial version) and I know Larry Jordan has some alternative views on FCP X installation which sound good to me, so I think I'd really like to carefully remove (unistall) the Trial version without damaging my current Studio installation (which I want to retain). I will then proceed with a carful installation fo the purchased X apps (and have not yet completely decided on which path I will take with that.
So how do I uninstall?
And does anyone here have any thoughts on the best way to install X given that:
1. I will continue using both X and Studio (but of course won't run them at the same time). I simply cannot divorce myself from Studio completely, but want to start using X in certain projects that are conducive to it.
2. I do NOT wish to do any partitioning (hate partitions).

Unlike the old FCP 7 there is no mystery about uninstalling FCP X.
Simply drag the application to the trash and delete it.
To install FCP X and FCS on the same disk (and partition) read the last 2 sections of this Apple Fact Sheet. (You didn't read far enough through it).

Which method you use depends on which item you wish to have put in its own folder.
Both methods work perfectly.
Just to avoid any misunderstanding these are the titles of the 2 pertinent sections:-
Install Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4 on the same disk as Final Cut Studio (2009)
Restore the Final Cut Studio (2009) applications to their original location

How Do I Uninstall FCP?

Pretty new at all of this. Need help from a pro. I have a FULL install of FCP on my G4 Powerbook. Just too much for me. Want to uninstall and then go back again and do a custom install of just Motion and LiveType. What is the best and fastest and cleanest way to make this happen. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello, can anybody provide a link or instructions on how to uninstall FCP Studio? I need to reinstall it to a lower version (5.1.4 to 5.1.2) due to older project files and compatibility with other systems. Thanks!

If you just want to get back to FCP 5.1.2 you will need the 5.1.2 updater which Apple doesn't make available for download.
To reinstall 5.1 Apple read this Apple Doc:

The following is the method that worked for previous versions, and I assume it would work for FCS2:
Warning - This is a long post.
How to uninstall Final Cut Pro & the other ProApps -
There are two ways to do this. The first requires that you insert the install discs for each app and go through the following procedure to identify the installed files.
1) Insert the disc and double click the install icon.
2) Click to let the installer check your system
3) After the installer opens, click File > Show Files (Command-T)
4) Click the disclosure triangle next the the app's name to show all the files installed, then select all of them
5) Choose Edit > Copy (Command-C)
6) Open a text editor & paste the list
7) If you have a printer connected, print
8) Make sure you delete the file/folder in the exact location indicated in the list
9) Insert the next app's install disc and repeat
The other way involves the Terminal.
Using Terminal:
1) In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G)
2) Enter the location /Library/Receipts/FinalCurPro.pkg/Contents
3) Click Go to open the Contents folder
4) Launch Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)
5) Enter the command lsbom -s (a lower case L, not an upper case i)
lsbom lists each of the files inside the bill of materials. To list only the folders, the command would be lsbom -d.
6) Type a space, then drag the Archive.bom file from the Finder window to the Terminal window.
7) Press Return to view the list
8) Drag to select the list in the Terminal window and choose File > Copy (Command-C)
9) Open a text editor and paste the list into it. Print if you have a printer attached.
10) Guided by the list, delete all the files and folders, being extremely careful to delete from the exact locations shown in the list.

Uninstall FCP Studio?

Greetings,
I am selling my powerbook and want to uninstall FCP studio so I can put it on my new Desktop.
(I did not have any projects on the machine- so I did not need to do any back-up.)
I removed all FCP folders from finder and trashed them.
Is this all I need to do?
It's my understanding that you can only run FCP on one machine at a time so;
When I go to re install FCP Studio onto the powermac- how does it know that I have uninstalled. off the powerbook?

How to uninstall FCP 5
Here's the way to do it:
1) Close FCP
2) Go to: /users/username/library/preferences/
a. Delete the com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
b. Delete the FCP User data folder.
3) Go to: Applications
a. Delete FCP application
b. Delete FCP HD addition easy setups folder.
4) Go to: /library/applicaton support/fcp system support/
a. Delete Custom Settings folder
b. Delete Plugins folder
5) Go to: /library/receipts/ and delete the following:
a. AnalogPAL.pkg
b. AppleIntermediateCodec.pkg
c. DigitalPAL.pkg
d. DVCproHDCodec.pkg
e. FinalCutPro.pkg
f. FinalCutproHDUpdate4.5.pkg
g. FinalCutProHelp.pkg

How to completely uninstall

I installed FCP on my Cube but the Cube couldn't run that app so I uninstalled it. However, whenever I check for software updates I am offered the Pro Applications Update 2005-01 version 1.0, so I presume that I did not completely uninstall FCP. How do I do so?

Thank you, George. Shane's instructions helped me to find additional files to delete, but the Pro Applications update is still offered even after I have deleted all the files I can find related to LiveType, FxPlug, PluginManager, Apple Uncompressed 422 Codec, Helium, and DVCPROHD (See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301888). I neglected to mention in my first message that I had installed Final Cut Studio, not just Final Cut Pro. How can I get rid of it completely?

I am going to buy FCP X with one license for business use. Before purchasing, I want to make sure several points.
1) How is FCP X ownership determined? Because my colleague said no registration or activation process occurred when he installed FCP X on his own mac pro. If the ownership is determined according to itunes account, is it possible to transfer the ownership to another party? If yes, what is the procedure?
2) If I want to buy a new machine in the future, is it possible to install FCP X with the same license on the new machine? If yes, do I need to uninstall FCP X installed on the original machine before installing it on new machine? And what should I do?

As far as I know, one can install FCP X on up to 5 computers with your signed in Apple ID.
You have to by the software just once.
Log In to the App Store on any of your FCP X able computers with your Apple ID, click Purchases
and download and install the software.

HT4759 How to Completely Uninstall iCloud? Office 2007 Save As Crashes

I can no longer use "Save As" in Office 2007 since I enabled ICloud. Word and Excel Crash. And Outlook does not seem to be about to send more than one email at a time. I have to select the Send/Receive button right after I create a new email. If I wait and create a second email, the first email in the outbox changes status from ready to send to cannot send. And even if I open it and try to send it, it will not send. I have to re-create it.
I want to know how to thoroughly uninstall ICloud. Other posters on Microsoft (Girish M) and Apple (SkinnyNick) have indicated that the problem is related to ICloud. And I can confirm that I started having problems right after enabling ICloud. Here are the references:

I spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot this problem. I ran the Office install to repair. This did not work. I uninstalled all Office 2007 related products. I then manually purged all directories relating to office including the Common Shared Directories. Then, I ran Microsoft's FixIt to uninstall Office to make sure everything was uninstalled. Then, I reinstalled Office 2007 and it still failed. I thought about installing Office 2010, but the second post (above SkinnyNick) indicates that this would not work.
So, I am looking for a way to uninstall iCloud including that parts that is causing this problem. Now, the second post (above) from
SkinnyNick) says that he tried to uninstall iCloud but this did not fix the problem. He finally reconfigured iCloud by de-selecting Outlook, but I would rather completely remove iCloud.
Can anyone provide instructions on how to completely remove iCloud so that my Office 2007 products will function again using Save As?

As a Windows Application Developer who has more than 28 years of professional development experience, I can tell you that anything is possible in terms of how developers implement their applications. I have seen just about everything under the sun, and it would not surprise me if Apple's iCloud not only places files in key Windows directories, but it may use configuration information in a file as opposed to the Window Registry to control how their application behaves. And this would prevent “System Restore" from fixing the problem. Configuration information can be stored in many places. And, even if you do use the Windows Registry to control how your application works, you can key off of new files (like a user profile file) to control how your application to behaves. How do I uninstall Edge Reflow CC?

I recently downloaded the app because I was curious about using it. Now I'm having issues on my print files (end of file) and the stability of Photoshop CC when I do things like adding layer masks and vector masks. When I look at the dump for output it's indicating that I'm using an unsupported layer type due to Reflow.
How can I uninstall Edge Reflow CC? I have an uninstaller for Edge Animate CC, but not one for Edge Reflow CC.

I said dump, I meant log. I didn't get a screenshot of the message. It said something to the effect of Generator had and error and close Photoshop. When I tried to save my files I received unexpected end of file encountered upon reopening the files upon restarting Photoshop. The first time I received a message was on creation of a layer mask from a vector path. The second time was in a different file, I was converting the vector path to a vector mask. Luckily I saved the original file. It's just a jpg. I was eventually able to edit the file (3 attempts).

You can install CC on two computers and use them both (even different OS if needed)
You can also sign out with your Adobe Creative Cloud application on one computer and log in on another computer, the max of active systems is 2 but it should be possible to have them on multiple systems with signing in and out.
