Hi,
I am a newcomer to imac (and Apple Support Communities !) and downloaded Google Earth without realising that I could use Google Maps. How do I uninstall Google Earth and remove the icon from my dock ? I have the latest imac and most up to date operating system.

It's distributed as a disk image file. Double-click the file. A disk image will mount. Drag the application in that image to the Applications folder. Eject the image by dragging its icon on the Desktop to the Trash. You can then delete the disk image file.

I don't know about uninstalling an app from a web page but if all else fails you could try recovering with the Nokia lumia recovery tool.

Well it started happening AGAIN with my 2nd IPod. No matter what I did, it Itunes would NOT restore it!
I finally installed Itunes on my hubby's PC at work and managed to get it restored there.
Apparently, there must be some sort of compatibility issue with the windows version of Itunes and some other piece of software on my pc.
And one more important thing! I had to follow the instructions in the other thread that talks about how to correctly uninstall itunes and quicktime, in order to completely eliminate ALL traces of my "first" ipod's existence so it wouldn't demand that I restore it.
I think the software got "confused" and thought when I connected my 2nd ipod, that it was the 1st and that it still needed to be restored.
Basically, this is just POORLY written and POORLY tested software!

Goto finder, you'll see your usb in there. Then open another finder window, locate the file, and just drag the movie onto your memory stick.

@shldr2thewheel, it would have been far easier if you just answered the question. He didn't state the name of it, nor where he downloaded it from. Clearly your making an assumption that it was illegaly downloaded.

I have been using Google Drive to share files with friends and family but this week began getting a pop-up that I need to upgrade my Google Drive software.
I downloaded the file from Google but when I try to install/replace, I get the following two messages:
The operation can’t be completed because the item “Google Drive” is in use.
The operation can’t be completed because a required item is in use.
My browser is closed so I don't know why it appears that the software is in use.
So, I checked this forum and found that because of some problems with Google Drive and OS X, I need to "uninstall" my current Google Drive application but I don't know how to do that.
Can someone please tell me, step-by-step, how to completely uninstall this software so that I can reload the newer version?

Open Google Drive window. Click On "Settings" at top of window. Select move to trash. Then Empty Trash.

I Googled 'How to uninstall Google Solitaire' and got several pages in return. Doing that may give you a lead.

IPhone: How does Ocarina do Google Earth Functionality?

In Ocarina, they have a Google Earth type globe that allows the user to basically emulate the Google Earth type functionality, only you can see "active" users throughout the globe playing their "Ocarina" app.
Is this openGL? Is there a google earth api that allows any user to do something similar? Or is this something likely developed from the ground up by the folks at Ocarina?

How about the Google Maps App? Is that functionality available natively within the iPhone SDK? Just a standard map feature that can be used for general location info with some layovers? Or is that also custom developed by Google and all the other map-type apps out there?

Force quit Google Earth if it is open. Then, if there is a copy of Google Earth in your Applications folder, drag the Google Earth on your desktop to the trash. Don't empty the trash yet.
Open the Google Earth from the one in the Applications folder. If this is the first time you used it from the Applications folder, you might get the message, "this is an appliaction you downloaded from the internet. Do you want to open it?" Open it, let load completely, quit it, and open it again. The message should not reappear.
Now empty the trash.
Restart your computer. Does Google Earth reappear on your desktop? If so, there is probably a LaunchAgent for it in your Macintosh HD> Users> your user name> Library> LaunchAgents folder. You can remove it. It could be under the Macintosh HD> Library> LaunchAgents or Launch Daemons or StartupItems folders.
I can't remember exactly where it was, but I hated it appearing on my desktop, and I removed from one or more of these locations.

I installed Firefox mobile on my HTC Droid Eris and then realized it does not work on this phone. How do I uninstall this when it does not even show up in my application downloads where I usually uninstall other apps?

Firefox should normally show up in the "Downloads" section of the Applications settings, like other apps. If it's not there, then there must have been a problem during installation. If it appears that Firefox is installed but is not listed in the settings, the only way I know to fix it is to do a "Factory reset" of all data on the phone. Sorry!

Press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. You cannot delete any of the Apple built-in apps e.g. Music/iPod, App Store, Game Centre etc. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'
