How do I uninstall iTunes so I can reinstall.  Going through control pannel does not work

i Tunes will not update.  It says the file Bonjour.msi is missing.  I tried to uninstall all iTunes components and reinstall but they will not uninstall through the control pannel.  Does anyone know how I can do this?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

After the Apple logo appears, what happens then? Can you hear any sounds or if you tap on the screen, does it seem like apps can open or are you just seeing a black screen? You might have a hardware problem, but you can try restoring the software and see what happens.

I have updated itunes and the newest software. My home button does not work.  Please help

It could be that your button has justy gone out.  You may try getting compressed air to blow out any dust in there.  If that doesn't work, you may have to get your button and ribbon replaced.

  • TS5376 I am hopeless, my computer will not uninstall itunes so i can reinstall! i really truly do need help! can someone please give me some guidance? i have tried almost everything and it is still not working!

I really need help!!! my itunes 11.1.4 download really screwed my computer up! I have tried everything i can search for and i still cant uninstall itunes in order to reinstall. If anyone could please help me it would be muchhhhhhhhh appreaciated. Thanks!

    Carly,
I went through the same thing. Searched again for another error I was seeing and found this help from Delgadoh and this finally fixed me! He mentioned this article: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376.  But I had not read it.  I went straight to his instructions below.
If you haven't already tried these steps:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer.
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.

  • I uninstalled itunes.  when i reinstalled i get "Apple application support not found.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling again but same problem

I uninstalled itunes and when I reinstalled it I get "Apple application support not not found."  Uninstall and then install.  Tried and not helping.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Can't search contacts + Google synch does not work

    (1) The search field in contacts does not work. I have to go the phone app, find the person in there, then open up the contact from the phone app.(2) I have synched Google contacts with the phone's contacts. Updates to the phone's contacts transfer across sometimes immediately, but sometimes the phone goes for one month without synching. No manual sync is possible. Basically every time I want to sync a single contact for sure onto Google and onto other devices I have delete the account and reload it. Are there solutions to either of these problems?

  • ITunes download using Firefox on Windows 7 64-bit does not work

I just got set up on a new Windows 7 machine (64-bit) at work.  I was trying to download the iTunes exe file to my machine and was initially using Firefox as my browser.  After multiple attempts to save the file were unsuccessful, I decided to try a different browser.
I popped over to Chrome and it downloaded with no problem.  I thought I would share in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

This has worked for some of us but not all. Go to control panel and uninstall itunes and icloud, restart pc, go to apple site and download itunes and icloud. Good luck.

  • ITunes 10.6.1 Update button for iOS update does not work (a bug)

iTunes 10.6.1 Update button on iOS device Summary / Version page does not update devices. It only checks the iTunes version!
With iTunes 10.6.1, connect an iPad, iPhone, iPod running pre-6 iOS version.
On iPad Summary / Version page, next to  [Update] button the message says:
"A newer version of the iPad software is available (version 6.0). To update your iPad with the latest software, click Update."
However, clicking the [Update] button will not start update iPad. Instead it gives you a dialog saying:
"This version of iTunes (10.6.1) is the current version".
Obviously it should start updating the i-device there but instead just goes and check the iTunes version ?!?
    A Bug!
What's really annoying in this bug is that it's the only way to update pre iOS 5.x devices, which is now impossible!
Apple should get this fixed asap!
    Anyone found any workarounds?
[Edit]: There seems to be another discussion of this issue already:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19671173#19671173

Just forgot to add, yes, I know there's iTunes 10.7 but it's only available on Snow Leopard and higher.
The machine in question is an old macbook, running Leopard (10.5.8), that it will propably never get upgraded.
Since most  my older i-devices were initially synced with that particular machine, I'll be now stuck with iOS updates, without loosing content.

  • Cannot remove tvshow from itunes, control delete does not work

Cannot delete movies or tvshows from itunes, control delete does nothing, please help.

    Hi pcshow,
These instructions from the iTunes Help menu, should answer your question:
Delete an item from your library
Click the item to select it, and press the Delete key.
    Click Delete Item.
    Do one of the following:
Remove the item only from your iTunes library: Click Keep File.
Delete the item from your computer: Click Move to Trash. The item is removed the next time you empty the Trash.
I believe you meant to Control click which is the same as a right click on your mouse, to get a list of commands.  That also works.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Can't uninstall Itunes so I can reinstall

Here's the deal. I recently took my PC apart to trouble shoot a problem. When I put everything back together my 3rd HD that stores all my programs had it's drive letter changed from D: to E:. Now my itunes was on this drive. When I tried to start it up I got an error about invalid path or characters. I try to uninstall it and get the same error. Says the "The folder path 'Program Files' contains an invalid character."
The program file doesn't have any weird characters so I am assuming Itunes is looking for the d:/program files folder. I can't uninstall or reinstall itunes because of this. How can I get this fixed?
Also, I did try to change the drive letter but my new D: is taken up by one of the DvD burners and that drive doesn't show up on the list to change it to something else. Only 3 hard drives show up and 2 are in RAID and 1 stand alone.
    What can I do?

The program file doesn't have any weird characters so I am assuming Itunes is looking for the d:/program files folder. I can't uninstall or reinstall itunes because of this.
Yeah, you've got the diagnosis right. Where possible, I try to just get the drive letters matching what's contained in the installation database in the iTunes.msi for your "existing" iTunes. But if we can't do that, we can try clearing the installation database instead.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install CleanUp"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How do I uninstall ITunes 7.1 and reinstall 7.0

I am having similar problems with my recent 7.1 update. I can not even open Itunes up, it goes right to the "closed unexpectedly" window.
    Q. Can I uninstall 7.1 and go back to 7.0?
    Q. Will I erase all of my music if I do this?
Thanks for your help. I am still finding my way around the Mac, so if you have any suggestions please be as descriptive as possible

If necessary download iTunes 7.0 from http://www.oldapps.com/downloadiTunesmac.php
Drag the iTunes app to the trash. Remove the iTunesX.pkg receipt to the trash from HD>Library>Receipts>iTunes.pkg
Do not move any other files. Your music should be fine. As always it is best to have a backup. Open the iTunes .dmg and reinstall.

  • How can I get multiple users to be able to share the music on iTunes? I've tried Home Sharing, but it does not work properly.

How can I get home sharing to work on my mac mini for multiple users? It says it is working, but it never shows up in the left hand column.

    Gino Cerullo,
Thanks for your response. I tried all that myself. In fact, last night, it all worked fine on all users. This morning, no Home Sharing would show up. It is really weird because some setting must have changed, but I did not knowingly changed anything, and now all the obvious fixes don't work. In fact, if I turn off Home Sharing and turn it back on, then it comes up only until I hit the "done" button on the set up page and then it goes away from the left hand column again. The ADVANCED drop down tab says it is on, but it is not there.
    Thanks anyway.

  • How do I uninstall itunes 11.1 and reinstall previous version?

I just installed iTunes 11.1 and I hate it. I can no longer find the talk and news radio, and the wonderful list of classical music stations. What on earth is Apple doing? Ugh.

Never mind! I found them all under "Internet," and not under "Radio." Weird.

  • I can not burn CD's with my Itunes anymore. It tells  me I am missing CD burner and to re download ITunes. I have done that and it stills does not work. Every time I try, Disc Recorder not found keeps coming up! Please someone help me!!!

I can not burn a CD with my itunes anymore. It tells me to re download itunes. I have done that and still have the same problem. When I do try, Missing disc recorder keeps coming up. Please help!!!!

    Hello again, Stew.
Also when I open itunes it gives me a warning and says "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importingand burning cd's and dvds are missing. Please reinstall itunes."
With that one let's first try a reboot and repair.
Reboot the PC (very important), and the do a *repair install* of iTunes.
Go to your "Add or Remove Programs" control panel, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Does iTunes launch without the error message now?
If no luck there, try checking for a device filter conflict in your registry:
