How do I uninstall iWork '08 Trial?

I installed iWork '08 Trial to test the apps.
I would like to cleanly, completely uninstall iWork '08 Trial. The installer doesn't have an uninstall option.
What's the Apple-recommended process.
Examination with Pacifist shows that there are items that may interfere with iLife '08 if I remove them. (iLifeMediaBrowser, GraphicsAppSupport, ImageKit_Tiger).
Please advise.

There is no need to remove the trial of iWork to install the retail version. All you need to do is click "Buy" on the trial & enter your serial number to convert it to a "non-expiring" version. There is no difference in the content of the trial or the boxed versions.
If you're wanting to remove the iWork trial because you have decided you don't want iWork (as I read the OP's post), dragging the iWork '08 folder to the Trash is a start. Then do a Spotlight search for "iWork" to find the .plist files to delete.

    hi Anselm
to get rid of the fragments of the broken installation, you just have to drop the directories 'SAP' and 'sapdb' and then run <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/softwaredownload?download=/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/nw/regcleantools.rar">registry clean tool</a>.

  • How do I uninstall FCP X Trial (I want to purchase and re-install "properly")?

I installed the FCP X Trial app and have decided to purchase and go forward with FCP X, but have some questions:
I see from the Apple FCP installation best practices document (HT4722) that it's not advisable to install along with Studio (instructions I did not follow in my hasty installation the Trial version) and I know Larry Jordan has some alternative views on FCP X installation which sound good to me, so I think I'd really like to carefully remove (unistall) the Trial version without damaging my current Studio installation (which I want to retain). I will then proceed with a carful installation fo the purchased X apps (and have not yet completely decided on which path I will take with that.
    So how do I uninstall?
And does anyone here have any thoughts on the best way to install X given that:
    1. I will continue using both X and Studio (but of course won't run them at the same time). I simply cannot divorce myself from Studio completely, but want to start using X in certain projects that are conducive to it.
    2. I do NOT wish to do any partitioning (hate partitions).
    Thanks!
    -Dave

Unlike the old FCP 7 there is no mystery about uninstalling FCP X.
Simply drag the application to the trash and delete it.
To install FCP X and FCS on the same disk (and partition) read the last 2 sections of this Apple Fact Sheet. (You didn't read far enough through it).
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4722
Which method you use depends on which item you wish to have put in its own folder.
    Both methods work perfectly.
Just to avoid any misunderstanding these are the titles of the 2 pertinent sections:-
Install Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, or Compressor 4 on the same disk as Final Cut Studio (2009)
Restore the Final Cut Studio (2009) applications to their original location

I installed ID CS6 trial to open files and save them to .idml, but now I go on with my CS5. How do I uninstall the CS6? Didn´t find an option in menus or Application Manager.

On the Mac OS X go to Applications/Programme > Utilities > Adobe Installer and click on the Id CS6 uninstaller
If this does not work us the Adobe Cleanup Tool script. If the uninstaller fails it shows you the link to that script.

  • Cannot uninstall iwork 09 trial version

After trying iworks 09 I didn't buy it. I have already fixed the issues about accessing work I did during the trial time but now I have a different problem. Someone sent me a document and when I opened it in Numbers it appears in the 09 version. I receive the message that I can't save print or export until I activate the trial version. When I click on learn more I get the message my trial version is over. I have already dragged the trial version into the trash and I have emptied the trash so I would think new documents that I open from a third party should open in 08. This is frustrating, hope someone can help. I appreciate it.

Thank you fuzzydog. Your suggestions partially helped. I can write click and iwork 06 and iwork 08 are shown as my choices on where to open the document (no 09 lurking in the pop up menu) I can then successfully open in 08. When I don't right click and I just open it the usual way, it still opens in the 09 trial version and won't let me do anything with the document unless I purchase.
I download the easy find from the devon web site and what is found is only web history. From the boolean search there are sites but they deal with pirated iwork 09.
Others must be having this problem?? This trial version is driving me crazy that it won't go away. I agree it has to be somewhere or else it couldn't open a document but it seems to be only the web version. I've deleted history and the cache but that didn't work.
    Sorry to be so problematic.

  • HOW Do I uninstall iWork 06 ? before install Iwork 08 ????????

    help

Although "garbage" might not have been a good word,
For Windows, I think it is!
I can't imagine what you have in Application Support that is 203.7 MB. My iWork folder in Application Support with all of the aforementioned templates for both Pages & Numbers is only 9.3 MB.
There is really no difference deleting from Spotlight or an open Finder window, they both show you where the file is. But, if you're uncomfortable deleting from the Spotlight result window, click on the file in the result list then, at the bottom of the window, where you see the path to the file, double-click on the folder name just before the file name to open that folder, revealing the file/folder found. Move it to the Trash. Repeat until all items you want to delete are in the Trash. Empty the Trash.

  • How to uninstalling iWorks

I just downloaded the trial of iWork 09 and gave Pages a go on some key Word documents, however it lacks compatibility with features I need, such as "paragraph boarders". Oh well - I'll just keep using NeoOffice.
Apple's try before you buy is a big winner with me!
My only question is, how should I Uninstall iWorks?

After the fun, back to a serious version.
This time I used French_like names of variables.
It's my preferred choice because they will never conflict with reserved words.
set dossierdesfichiers to path to preferences folder from local domain as Unicode text
    set listedefichiers to {"com.apple.iWork09.Installer.plist", "com.apple.iWork09.plist"}
    tell application "System Events"
    repeat with un_fichier in listedefichiers
    try
delete disk item (dossierdesfichiers & un_fichier)
    end try
    end repeat

During numerous centuries they where conflicts between French and English.

  • How do I uninstall Photoshop Elem. 6 free trial download that expired?

I just purchased Photoshop Elements 8, installed it on my MAC running OS10.6+ and, so far, it appears to be OK (after doing some simple trial editing).
But I want to remove a legacy TRIAL version of Photoshop Elements 6 and well as a CV3 and an early version of "help."  I never bought the trial version before it expired, thus it has been an unusable memory hog for over a year or so.
I read several questions/comments regarding removing legacy Element versions.  One commentator (an employee) said you could find an uninstaller in the library adobe folder for 6.  So I followed his sequence and found the uninstaller for my new version, but not for Elements 6.  Nor did a spotlight search turn up anything located elsewhere for version 6.  Other users (with paid versions?) apparently found the uninstaller in the suggested location and were successful in deleting the program.   I'm not sure why my trial version is lacking the uninstaller, so how can I uninstall without doing the naughty thing and dropping old adobe files in the trash?
It would be great if any removal suggestions would leave my installation of the new Elements 8 intact so I don't have to also uninstall and reinstall it!

Thank you Jon99.  That was actually the route I previously took (through utilities, not library--sorry for my mistake).  When I got there I saw PSE 6 installer right next to my PSE 8 uninstaller.  I figured, logically, that if PS8 had an uninstaller, that PSE6 would also, and I certainly didn't want to install 6 again since it was already present.  NEVERTHELESS, I opened it and, as expected, I got a message that I could not proceed with setup so I closed it. Thus my original consternation.
Your email motivated me to try again, thinking I must have overlooked something.  I again came to the same dead end, but I hesitated a moment before closing the installer, when, suddenly a new screen appeared telling me I had to quit a CV program I didn't know was open.  So I did as instructed and finally found the uninstall option.  It worked and better yet, my new Elements program is still intact.  I'm glad the new program has been improved so that those of us who are "logic-constrained" can easily find the uninstaller.  Perhaps others may benefit from my mistakes and your suggestion.

  • How can I uninstall a long-ago expired Adobe XI (11.0.06) trial?  During the trial, Ver XI installed itself as my "default", which is still making it difficult for me to access the Adobe X (10.1.10) that I previously purchased.

How can I uninstall a long-ago expired Adobe XI (11.0.06) trial?  During the trial, Ver XI installed itself as my "default", which is still making it difficult for me to access the Adobe X (10.1.10) that I previously purchased.

Thanks for your help.  I cannot open the application (Acrobat XI) because I did not buy it.  Every time I want to open a .pdf, I have to remember to take the extra step of going to "open with" and then select "Acrobat X".  When I forget to do that, the XI "default" opens a window that gives me another chance to buy XI -- that's what I want to get rid of.  Another approach (perhaps?) would be to change to default setting from "Adobe XI" to Adobe X"  (the way it was before I tried the XI trial).  But I don't know how to do that.

  • How to uninstall iWork '06

Now that I have iWork '08, how do I uninstall the old Pages and Keynote in iWork '06? Can I just drag it to the Trash?

It does seem that most of the journal templates from Pages 1 & 2 aren't included in Pages 3. If you want them to be available in Pages 3, you could do what I did. I opened the Pages 2 package (Control- or right-click on the application icon & choose show package contents from the contextual menu) & found the templates in Content > Resources > English > Templates & then copied the Journals folder to HD > Users > your account > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates & they now show up under My Templates in the Template Chooser.
