How do I Uninstall Office:mac software?

My computer crashed and I reinstalled Office:mac 2004 Standard Edition and then installed Office:mac CD Upgrade and I can't get into any of the Office:mac progams.  When I try to open any program it says "This is an Upgrade to earlier version and I cant find the folder for an earlier version.

Inside the Office main folder is a folder containing the uninstaller. Use it to remove Office.

How do l uninstall an unwanted software like Vidx from my Mac?

did it use an installer? then it probably has option to also uninstall.
was it simply dragged onto/into /Applications? drag it out, Might want to look in
/Users/my_account/Library for Preferences, Application Support, Caches for the files it created in your account.
Does it use and install a plug-in? Browser plug-in or extension?
And if you go to home page for Vidx does it have instructions? might even Google "uninstall Vidx on Mac" to see what others say.

You can still get Office 2008, the last version that had PPC Mac code:

  • How do u run office mac on the new imac

error message says cnnont open application microsoft word because power pc applications are no longer supported  how do i run office mac on the new imac

Office 2004 probably was the best MS Office ever, works fine on PPC machines, badly enough on intel machines, unusable in Lion.
Office 2008 was a step back, runs badly on PPC machines, not very good for newer, Intel macs either.
Office 2011 seems the only rational solution for newer macs running SL and Lion.
There are free and good solutions, OpenOffice, LibreOffice and NeoOffice, all based on OO language. Apple’s iWork also offers a good solution, may be a little problematic if you currently exchange files with Windows users, mainly if you must keep the original format, including inserted data.
    Summing up:
    - if you frequently / currently exchange data with Windows users, MS Office is the best solution from reasons of comfort
    - if not, any free office quoted above makes its job fairly well
    - iWork is also good, and smoothly integrated with Mac OS X, of course
If you mainly need word processing, Mellel and / or Nisus are (very) good alternatives, may be tested for 30 days, then decide.
The offer is, as you may see, rich, richer than in Windows, but this also means, as the French say, l’embarras du choix, difficulty of choosing something!

    1. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu to check the installed version.
    2. Incremental updates are available in the Software Update pane of System Preferences or the Mac App Store's Updates tab. The source for full version upgrades varies; 10.6 through 10.8 are in the online Apple Store, and 10.9 is in the Mac App Store.

  • How do i uninstall the recent software update?

I just updated to version 4.3 and does not work properly.  Can I go back to the previous version?

You know what Verizon, you have customers who DO NOT want these freaking BLOATED updates. This 4.3 update completely sucks!
    1. When I pull down the taskbar, how do I make the WIFI (bout **** time you added that), GPS, Sound, etc SMALLER?
    2. On my lock screen, how do I uninstall that **** widget for date/time and go back to my default screen that sat CENTERED in the middle of my screen?
    3. On the lock screen, why is it so hard to swipe to unlock it now? Hint, that **** date/time widget is getting in the freaking way
    4. How do I get my taskbar to NOT blend in with the rest of the wallpaper? You obviously didn't consult people with vision issues first.
    5. YES, it appears I'm having the power sucking issue other people have reported.
You know what, I work in an office w/ a bunch of people who have iPhones. At least their interface pretty well stays the same.  I DO NOT want fluff. I want a functional phone. This 4.3 update for me personally is not functional but a huge irritant. Coupled with Verizon used to rule the airwaves here where I live (Northern Indiana) in the analog days but SUCK in the digital world, I guess I'll have to talk to AT&T when my contract is up.
This phone as it is right now is **NOT** worth the money I'm paying for it.
The problem is NOT the Samsung S3, it's YOUR PROGRAMMING Verizon.
I has a Samsung S3 from US Cellular and LOVED that phone. They kept their crap off of it and left the phone alone. It worked GREAT. The same can NOT be said for the Verizon version.

  • How do I uninstall non Apple software?

I have downloaded software for my golfbuddy, but first I downloaded it for the wrong device.  How do i uninstall it?

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

  • How do i uninstall third party software

I just purchased a Mac Pro Restina this week end, so am new to Macs and Lion.....I have installed a 3rd party software that i would like to uninstall. How do I do this?

It's always best to use an uninstaller program, if one is provided. Check the developer's web site to see if there is an uninstaller.
If there is no uninstaller, then you can simply drag the application to the trash (as suggested). However, this will not remove other files associated with the application. These files usually are not a problem, but they do take up space.
Removing the various support files "by hand" can be done, but you need to dig around in your account's Library folder and it can be difficult to locate all the files. Also, deleting the wrong one can cause problems with other applications. Usually it's a minor inconvenience.
There are several applications that will try to hunt down all the associated files and allow you to delete them. I use AppZapper, for instance.

  • How do you uninstall pre-loaded software?

I am looking to free up some space on my hard drive, and I would like to get rid of the some of the unnecessary preloaded applications. I know that this can be done on windows but can it be done on macs, and if so how?

I agree with Eric in that if you haven't had your MacBook very long and can backup you data well it's probably best to reinstall using a "Custom Install" and pick and choose what you want on there.
AppZapper is.....mmm okay. I got it when MacZot had a deal and got it for 65 cents or I wouldn't have gotten it (Spotlight is just as good). Problem with most if not all of the pre-loaded application are they're package installed. AppZapper IMHO has limited success uninstalling them.
I used to use DesInstaller to rid myself of .pkg installs. I'm not sure if there's a Universal of it or not. I now use OSXPM which manages .pkg files (creates them too!) and while it's a beta it works well and it's free (so far).
