How do I uninstall one of the two Firefox 3.5.1 applications that I have (for some unknown reason!)?
After I set my Mac 10.4.1 to open Firefox 3.5.1 at startup, I noticed two ff icons on my desktop. Looking further, 3.5.1 is apparently double-installed, if that makes any sense. Can I uninstall one copy (without losing my bookmarks) and if so, how? I can't find any uninstall directions on Google that work or make sense to me. There is nothing to click on, and using delete or dragging it to the trash, which locks, doesn't work. Even if I wanted to go back to Safari 4.1.3 I wouldn't be able to uninstall ff at this point!
I share a similar situation (usb iTunes sync with Outlook with my corporate laptop; personal calendar on icloud).
With IOS7, at first, iTunes/Windows does not propose Outlook sync anymore. I need to switch off calendar from iTunes to enable usual usb sync with Outlook. I had to sync it twice while checking "replace iphone data" to get a stable behaviour (like before) IOS7.When I try to re-enable icloud calendars, it proposes me to merge them...
I did not test merging so far...
IOS7 and iTunes 11.1 are not completely polished ;-)

For some unknown reason I have two Apple ITunes/ID Accounts in operation.
How do I completely delete one of these Accounts?I have a similar situation.. in my case, I started using an Apple ID a while back, then when MobileMe was introduced, I got an account there, and somehow that is the account that is mostly used when making updates or purchases.
Sometimes when making updates, it prompts me for the PW for one account, and sometimes for the other.
This is a real pain - is there anyway both these accounts can be consolidated into one? When I asked an Apple rep, I was told 'no', but they have been known to make mistakes when giving advice. So, is there a way? Technically, I don't see this as a problem.. but Apple seems to be of the opinion that this would lead to having apps 'shared' amoung users. I think all that would be necessary if for me to provide the necessary proof that both accounts are indeed mine, and not belonging to someone else.
If not, what about deleting the apps registered to one account, and then re-purchasing them with the other account? To do this, I would need to identify which apps are registered to which accouts - is this possible? Most of my apps are free, but there are a few I paid for.. not many, so this possible solution might work and not cost too much. Ideas? -
I have a i-phone 5s which i got recently. Everytime i try to update my apps that i got on my 4s on the new5s i get message to fill in a password for some unknown gmail id. How do I get my apple id back for my apps?
That means that one or more of these apps was obtained using that ID. All apps are forever tied to the ID used to originally obtain them & they cannot be transferred to another ID. Your only option is to delete this content, then re-purchase using your ID.

I previously was able to wirelessly ePrint to my HP Photosmart Plus e-All-In-One B210a using both my iPad & iPhone (both run IOS 5.1). For some unknown reason neither one can now print. I keep getting a message that the printer is no longer available. My MacBook continues to print ok. Any ideas?
Reboot everything. Router, printer and pad. If it used to work, it will again. It just lost itself somewhere.

Hi cb-anc! Thank you for replying to my question. The Library application has disappeared,not the library folder. I went into the application a couple of days ago to trash some plist files and now the application has disappeared. I haven't upgraded to Lion but am still on now Leopard.

I can only guess about the reason... Firefox works with many websites' "rich text" editors, but ones that haven't been updated for five years may assume that Firefox is the old Netscape browser and use scripting techniques that don't work in Firefox.
If Verizon has a different "basic" or HTML editor that you can tolerate using, you could try that. It might not be subject to the same incompatibilities.
If I someday get a Verizon account, I will surely be looking into this further, but for now, it's hard to suggest anything else. -
For some unknown reason, my Apple ID Password does not work when trying to down load IBooks, Nook books, or new Apps. Everything else seems to work. Any suggestions out their???
I appreciate the info and realize that the Nook App is not related to my Apple account but this too has stopped working. My situation first started with the Nook App not down loading and then has now spread to my IBook and new app downloads. I have checked into my ITunes account and the ID and password are correct and at times when I am asked to submit my Apple password such as setting up this Apple Support Community the ID and password work. My problem seems to be just with trying to use my ID and password when wanting to download new books or apps. I can go into the IBook, Nook, and App stores and seemingly download an item but when clicking on the new book or app nothing happens and I get a message that states it can not get into the ITunes store and it wants me to either try again or cancel. This message appears usually ten minutes after I have tried to make a purchase. At other times when I attempt to download a book or app I lose the screen and the IPad goes into the opening screen. Short of redoing my Apple account or deleting an app and attempting to reload the app (but this won't work because the App store won't load new apps) I don't have a clue what to do.

For some unknown reason I have lost the ability to drag and drop in OS 10.7.5
I searched through the discussions and could only find entries pertaining to files that wouldn't release once picked up. I can'teven do that. I ran "Verify Disk Permisions" and am currently waiting for "Repair Disk Permissions" to finish. I could run Tech Tool Pro, am I missing anything? Why do I get the feeling I'll have to reinstall the OS? If I do, is it just a matter of reinstalling Lion or will I need to format the whole HD?

CarlTake these steps if the cursor changes from an arrow to a white "prohibited" symbol when you try to move an icon on the Desktop.
Sometimes the problem may be solved just by logging out or rebooting. Try that first, if you haven't already done it. Otherwise, continue.
Select the icon of your home folder (a house) in the sidebar of a Finder window and open it. The Desktop folder is one of the subfolders. Select it and open the Info window. In the General section of the window, the Kind will be either Folder or something else, such as Anything.
If the Kind is Folder, uncheck the box marked Locked. Close the Info window and test.
If the Kind is not Folder, make sure the Locked box is not checked and that you have Read & Write privileges in the Sharing & Permissions section. Then close the Info window and do as follows.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You should get a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”). Quit Terminal.
Relaunch the Finder.
If the problem is now resolved, and if you use iPhoto, continue.
Quit iPhoto if it's running. Launch it while holding down the option key. It will prompt you to select a library. Choose the one you want to use (not the Desktop folder.) -

If you have access to wifi router you may check its log and see what does it say...
Try set the router for no hidden and no password wifi and try to connect. If you iPad can connect then add password to wifi settings on the router and try to connect again... etc... -
How do I delete one of the two itunes accounts on my iPhone?
I used to sync my phone on my daughter's computer, and somehow both accounts (mine and hers) got on my iPhone. When I try to download or update apps, it either asks for my password or my daughter's, and I can't update my apps anymore because I do not have the password to her account. How do I delete her account off of my iPhone? I've looked everywhere online and can't find the answer. Also, I'm now syncing on a different computer without her account, but it still hasn't deleted. All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection that is tied to the iTunes that was used to download the apps. This means you have apps on your iPhone that were downloaded with your daughter's iTunes account. Apps cannot be transferred or merged with another iTunes account.
Delete the apps from your iPhone that were downloaded with your daughter's iTunes account to prevent being prompted for the account's password when there are app updates for the apps downloaded with the account. An iTunes account cannot be deleted. -
I cannot undderstand why the print themes have disappeared from iphoto 11 so I can no longer print photos from my imac. Can anyone advise me please?
When the device is set to Automatic for time, it is pulling the time from the cell towers. Contact the carrier to ensure they are not experiencing issues.
Also, check the time on your computer that the device syncs with, make sure that the time (and time zone) on the computer are accurate. -

It sounds like the repeat setting has been enabled. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for instructions on turning it off.

I was down loading a 4.7 GB file (ISO image) and paused at 1.7 GB. When resuming I got a message that the file could not be saved. On trying to resume the down load, it starts from the beginning! On checking the directory I find that a 1.7 GB file exists on my disk. How do I down load the balance file. The OS is Open SUSE 11.2. Linux.
In Disk Utility, select the iPod (the device) in the sidebar. So, if you see the iPod in the sidbar with a "volume" indented below the iPod, select the "device" (not the volume).
Go to the Erase tab to the right. The choice for Format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Name does not matter, because iTunes will rename it during the Restore. Click Erase.

That may be an issue with the USB connection. As a test, shut down (power off) the Mac. Disconnect other USB devices including USB hub, except for standard USB keyboard and mouse (if normally used). SInce this is a laptop, connect it to its power adapter, so that it's not running on battery power.
Connect the iPod to a direct USB port on the Mac. Note if there is any difference regarding the iPod not maintaining a connection. -
