How do I uninstall OX Mavericks 10.9.5?
I bought a new iMac last month, and have not backed up anything to Time Machine yet. The computer was working fine until I upgraded to OX Mavericks 10.9.5. Now, when I log into my company's VPN, I cannot type anything. I am having the same problem on my older MacBook Pro. I have talked with my company's IT department, and they can log into my account from another mac just fine, but they have not updated to the latest version of OX Mavericks. It has to be a problem with the update.
How do I go back to the original version on my IMac?

onpetree,
you can’t uninstall Mavericks, but you could erase your MacBook Pro’s internal disk and reïnstall its original version of OS X — the exact method depends upon which model of MacBook Pro you have. -
How do I uninstall maverick os-x?
I downladed this Maverick OS-X yesterday and now can not access my I photo AND my system is incredibly slow. How can I uninstall this maverick OS-X and get my system back to where it should be?
If it's been since yesterday, perhaps Spotlight is done indexing.
You could certainly go back to your previous OS if you want, or we could try to help you fix what's wrong. Here's a reference: How to revert OS X back from Mavericks: Apple Support Communities -
How can I uninstall adobe media encoder cc at macbook (Mavericks)?
How do I uninstall adobe media encoder cc on macbook (Mavericks)? I have installed two versions (AME AME CC and CC 2014), AME CC 2014 has unistall file, but the application AME CC has unistall file or i can not find it. The situation is similar in the application ADOBE EDGE CODE CC and ADOBE EDGE CC Reflow CC.
Because I have installed two versions, CC and CC (2014) I have a small ssd drive, I want to uninstall unnecessary applications and replace them with new ones from the 2014 edition. I have a problem with applications: Media encoder CC, EDGE CODE CC, Rreflow CC, Lightroom 5, these applications just do not have the files "uninstall". CC Photoshop, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, Media Encoder CC (2014) - with these applications I do not have a problem, I can uninstall these applications because have files "uninstall".

I wish to uninstall os x maverick how do I uninstall and restore os x lion?
After purchasing my mac air I purchased and downloaded os x lion. A few weeks ago apple offered a free download of os x mavericks which I downloaded, since downloading my mac has not functioned well and some programmes will not run atall, how can I uninstall mavericks and restore lion.
You can only downgrade OS X by first erasing the drive then installing the original version of OS X that came pre-installed when you purchased it. Or:
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.4 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.4 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo). -
How do I uninstall Mavericks Server?
Okay, I wasn't really using my MacBook Pro as a server in the past, but it appears that Apple has added a "helpful" feature to Mavericks Server where, according to "pmset -g", Server is perpetually preventing the computer from sleeping: "sleep prevented by com.apple serve"
I'm not really using Server on my Mac anymore, so how do I uninstall it under Mavericks? I've searched Apple Support and the rest of the web, and can see plenty of advice out there for Lion and Mountain Lion, but none for Mavericks yet, so I'm wondering if someone has already done this...I was talking about uninstalling Mavericks Server, not Mavericks. The server is just one app that happens to install a number of other services. But anyway, here's my advice:
If you have a computer that Apple launched on or after Mavericks launched, then you cannot uninstall Mavericks.
If you have an older computer, then the best way to get the old OS back is to restore a backup from before you installed Mavericks. Lacking that, if you made an install DVD of the old OS before running the installer (which is always a good idea), then you can boot that DVD, wipe your drive, and install the older OS. You will lose all your data by wiping the drive, so make a backup of important data first.
If you don't have a backup, or you don't have an older OS install DVD, then consider this to be a learning experience. If Mavericks broke your app, then you'll have to wait for a newer version to come along. -
I upgraded from snow leopard to mavericks only to find that my backup files of all my CS3 indesign, illustrator, photoshop wo't run, how do I uninstall mavericks and get my old system back. I retired from graphics a few years back but still have old clients I do work for and maintain files for. Would not have upgraded if I had known of the incompatability.
You did not due any due dilligence to investigate if your legacy apps would run, you should upgrade your apps. However if you feel you have to downgrade back to SL then click

how do I uninstall OS X Mavericks and revert back to OS mountain lion?
You can't uninstall an OS X version. You would have to erase the drive and reinstall a prior OS version. That's why you should never upgrade without having a backup.
However, just about any router in the world should work with Mavericks, without the need of any DVD supplied software. -

How do I Uninstall Maverick on my Macbook, I miss my old system?
Rhperry wrote:
This is infuriating. I replied yes to an inocuous request if I wanted to upgrade to Mavericks OSX on my MacBook Pro. I said yes and now MS Word 2011 gets stuck in start up.
MS Word 2011 is compatible with Mavericks. This isn't an issue of either Mavericks or MS Word being bad or buggy software. Something is wrong with your system, and there's no way to identify what that might be based on such sparse information. Could be some other bad third-party software, could be a corrupt system, could be a corrupt Word install, could be the initial stages of some kind of hardware failure. Could be something else entirely.
If you need help, you'll want to start your own topic and clearly explain the problem. Avoid the negativity and blaming Mavericks for no good reason, as you have already seen a sample of how those kinds of posts are typically received here. -
