HOW DO I UNINSTALL PHOTOSHOP 6.0?

My computer runs on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  When I try to uninstall my very old Photoshop 6.0 I get this error message:
"The log file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop 6.0\Uninst.isu' is not valid or the data has been corrupted.  Uninstallation will not continue"
Does anyone know how to fix this?  I called Adobe Support and I was told to look here in the forums, since this version of Photoshop is no longer supported.
The reason why I want to uninstall it is because I just purchased Photoshop CS6, and I fear that if I leave the old version installed it may interfere with the new version.
Thank you in advance for any insights.
Paul

Paul,
1. You might try to install it again. This *may* make it possible to uninstall as a new install logfile will be created.
2. The new version will not interfere with the old version so in fact  there is no need to uninstall.
3. If you want to free up a bit space and the uninstall was not succesful you can manually delete the folders of the old version. This will of course not delete everything as many files are put in Windows' folders and the Registry but il will at least free up a bit of space.

  • How do I uninstall photoshop elements 6 (windows) when there is not option in add-remove programs

How do I uninstall photoshop elements 6 (windows) when there is not option in add-remove programs.  I have looked on my hard drive extensively for a library or utility folder that would have an uninstall program, nothing.  I want to install Elements 9, but have found out that Elements 9 does not remove Elements 6, so I want to remove elements 6 first.

Strange that PSE6 does not show up via the control pane.
I wouldn’t worry about uninstalling it. The two versions sit happily side by side and PSE6 takes up hardly any file space compared with PSE9.

In windows, use control panel. On a mac there's a link to the uninstaller inside the PSE 9 folder in Applications.

  • How do I uninstall Photoshop Elem. 6 free trial download that expired?

I just purchased Photoshop Elements 8, installed it on my MAC running OS10.6+ and, so far, it appears to be OK (after doing some simple trial editing).
But I want to remove a legacy TRIAL version of Photoshop Elements 6 and well as a CV3 and an early version of "help."  I never bought the trial version before it expired, thus it has been an unusable memory hog for over a year or so.
I read several questions/comments regarding removing legacy Element versions.  One commentator (an employee) said you could find an uninstaller in the library adobe folder for 6.  So I followed his sequence and found the uninstaller for my new version, but not for Elements 6.  Nor did a spotlight search turn up anything located elsewhere for version 6.  Other users (with paid versions?) apparently found the uninstaller in the suggested location and were successful in deleting the program.   I'm not sure why my trial version is lacking the uninstaller, so how can I uninstall without doing the naughty thing and dropping old adobe files in the trash?
It would be great if any removal suggestions would leave my installation of the new Elements 8 intact so I don't have to also uninstall and reinstall it!

Thank you Jon99.  That was actually the route I previously took (through utilities, not library--sorry for my mistake).  When I got there I saw PSE 6 installer right next to my PSE 8 uninstaller.  I figured, logically, that if PS8 had an uninstaller, that PSE6 would also, and I certainly didn't want to install 6 again since it was already present.  NEVERTHELESS, I opened it and, as expected, I got a message that I could not proceed with setup so I closed it. Thus my original consternation.
Your email motivated me to try again, thinking I must have overlooked something.  I again came to the same dead end, but I hesitated a moment before closing the installer, when, suddenly a new screen appeared telling me I had to quit a CV program I didn't know was open.  So I did as instructed and finally found the uninstall option.  It worked and better yet, my new Elements program is still intact.  I'm glad the new program has been improved so that those of us who are "logic-constrained" can easily find the uninstaller.  Perhaps others may benefit from my mistakes and your suggestion.

  • HOW DO I UNINSTALL PHOTOSHOP AND LIGHTROOM??????

I HAVE A NEW COMPUTER WITH ADOBE CC INSTALLED.  I WANT TO GIVE MY OLD COMPUTER AWAY, BUT I AM UNABLE TO UNINSTALL PHOTOSHOP AND LIGHTROOM.  I KEEP GETTING THE MESSAGE THAT BRIDGE IS RUNNING.  NO ADOBE APPLICATIONS ARE RUNNING AND I DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT AWAY WITH IT INSTALLED ON THAT COMPUTER.  HOW DO I UNINSTALL???????
I AM USING THE WINDOWS UNINSTALL!

    Hello kat10sch,
    Thanks for this information.
I'll give few steps which you can use to uninstall it completely.
    1. First Check in Task Manager if any bridge.exe is running or not if its running please end the task.
To run task manager - press Ctrl + Alt + Del together and check in process Tab.
    2. Second step you can do a Selective Startup and reboot your machine
          - To do a selective startup please follow http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/run-selective-startup-system-configuration#1TC= windows-7
Select - Load System Services and Load Startup Items
    3. In the startup Tab of the same windows please uncheck Adobe bridge.
    Restart your machine
and now you can try Uninstallation as usual from Control panel->Add or Remove (Uninstall a Program)
If still have any issue let me know
    Thanks

On Mac go to your Application folder, than open the Adobe Photoshop folder. Inside you should find the "Uninstall Adobe Photoshop" app.
In windows I guess you have to go in the control panel, add/remove applications, and a find the photoshop uninstaller there (not 100% sure because I'm on a mac).

I'd just trash it but to be sure you do it right I'd ask in the Elements forum since most Photoshop users don't use Elements.
