So you are using OS 10.7.2?
You have two options: You can reveal the folders permanently from the Terminal:
Start the Terminal.app from Applications -> Utilities, then enter:
      sudo chflags nohidden /Library; open /Library               press return
to make the System Library visible and to reveal it in the Finder,
and
       chflags nohidden ~/Library; open ~/Library
to make the User Library visible and to reveal it in the Finder.
The "sudo" prefix makes you do the command authorized as Administrator. You will have to enter your admin password. Be careful when using this. Read any command twice to be sure you do not enter any wrong commands.
If you want to leave the libraries hidden,and only open them in the Finder, use the Finder "Go" menu.
To show the User Library:
Finder menu -> Go     hold down the opt-key, till the Library appears in the drop down menu, select it
To show the System Library:
Finder menu -> Go -> Go to Folder
enter      /Library        press return.
To hide the libraries again, if you prefer this, enter
     chflags hidden ~/Library
and
     chflags hidden /Library
in the Terminal window.

I am new to Mac and I am not a Unix system programmer.
I purchased a MagicJack Plus for my sister and I set it up using my new iMac for her. Now I would like to remove the setup software from my iMac as I do not like to leave extraneous software on my machine. Also, MagicJack seems to be even more clueless than me, which I find VERY disturbing.
I. I viewed and attempted to execut instructions outlined in "How do I uninstall magicJack from my computer?" on MJ wesite as follows:
Download CompleteUninstall.sh. After the download is complete, open a terminal window by navigating to /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
In the Terminal Window, navigate to your download directory (usually Downloads) by typing cd Downloads and pressing enter. Next, type chmod+x CompleteUninstall.sh and press enter. Now type ./CompleteUninstall.sh and press enter again.
For reference the CompleteUninstall.sh script contains the following:

The change ownership command failed, I presume because the path to the Unix Commands directory is not set? If so, how do I set it and then reset everything back to current defaults?

Thanks VERY much.......this solved my problem.
I just cut and pasted the command into my terminal session. I assumed the format was correct as the exact same command set format was used on several different web sites giving instructions on how to remove the magicjack software.
Amazing how incorrect info gets propagated around the web!

I know this sounds backwards but I have been encountering many computer problems when I realized that Adobe Reader updates 9.1.2 and 9.1.3 plus Reader 9.1.3-CPSID_49522 were installed on my computer but the system requirements for these programs are above my computer's capability. i.e. I only have a Pentium III processor with 863MHz, 512Mg of RAM. I've already used the Add/Remove program to uninstall 9.1.2, but after reading many of the installation problems here I am afraid to proceed any further without advice since the update 9.1.3-CPSID_49522 says that it cannot be uninstalled. Can anyone tell me how to safely uninstall these so that I can reinstall Reader 8.1.3?

So Reader 9.1.2 is uninstalled, but the 9.1.3 update is still in Add/Remove Programs?
Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove this part from the installed programs, then go ahead and install Reader 8.1. Note that the latest update for Reader 8.1 is 8.1.7.

I can no longer use "Save As" in Office 2007 since I enabled ICloud. Word and Excel Crash. And Outlook does not seem to be about to send more than one email at a time. I have to select the Send/Receive button right after I create a new email. If I wait and create a second email, the first email in the outbox changes status from ready to send to cannot send. And even if I open it and try to send it, it will not send. I have to re-create it.
I want to know how to thoroughly uninstall ICloud. Other posters on Microsoft (Girish M) and Apple (SkinnyNick) have indicated that the problem is related to ICloud. And I can confirm that I started having problems right after enabling ICloud. Here are the references:

I spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot this problem. I ran the Office install to repair. This did not work. I uninstalled all Office 2007 related products. I then manually purged all directories relating to office including the Common Shared Directories. Then, I ran Microsoft's FixIt to uninstall Office to make sure everything was uninstalled. Then, I reinstalled Office 2007 and it still failed. I thought about installing Office 2010, but the second post (above SkinnyNick) indicates that this would not work.
So, I am looking for a way to uninstall iCloud including that parts that is causing this problem. Now, the second post (above) from
SkinnyNick) says that he tried to uninstall iCloud but this did not fix the problem. He finally reconfigured iCloud by de-selecting Outlook, but I would rather completely remove iCloud.
Can anyone provide instructions on how to completely remove iCloud so that my Office 2007 products will function again using Save As?

As a Windows Application Developer who has more than 28 years of professional development experience, I can tell you that anything is possible in terms of how developers implement their applications. I have seen just about everything under the sun, and it would not surprise me if Apple's iCloud not only places files in key Windows directories, but it may use configuration information in a file as opposed to the Window Registry to control how their application behaves. And this would prevent “System Restore" from fixing the problem. Configuration information can be stored in many places. And, even if you do use the Windows Registry to control how your application works, you can key off of new files (like a user profile file) to control how your application to behaves. Now I'm having issues on my print files (end of file) and the stability of Photoshop CC when I do things like adding layer masks and vector masks. When I look at the dump for output it's indicating that I'm using an unsupported layer type due to Reflow.
How can I uninstall Edge Reflow CC? I have an uninstaller for Edge Animate CC, but not one for Edge Reflow CC.

I said dump, I meant log. I didn't get a screenshot of the message. It said something to the effect of Generator had and error and close Photoshop. When I tried to save my files I received unexpected end of file encountered upon reopening the files upon restarting Photoshop. The first time I received a message was on creation of a layer mask from a vector path. The second time was in a different file, I was converting the vector path to a vector mask. Luckily I saved the original file. It's just a jpg. I was eventually able to edit the file (3 attempts).

You can install CC on two computers and use them both (even different OS if needed)
You can also sign out with your Adobe Creative Cloud application on one computer and log in on another computer, the max of active systems is 2 but it should be possible to have them on multiple systems with signing in and out.

Mozilla needs to make their products more user friendly. There is a multitude of people out there
who are "NOT" very computer literate. Older people like myself, for example, who are old
school, have a difficult time being dragged kicking and screaming into the electronic generation.
My grandchildren are better at this kind of stuff than I am; yet we really don't have much choice
but to try and make the transition, because I have found that there are a lot of types of business

My problem is not with Firefox (I don't use it because it is too slow) , because I use the Seamonkey browser. The problem I now have is that when I try to download some software, I get a message that says I must first uninstall a certain “add on” file, (npfdm.dll.), a "Free Download Manager" file. When I get the list of add ons through the “help” drop down menu, there is “NO” link or any way I can see that will allow me to uninstall this file from the add on list. Therefore, Seamonkey becomes useless to me. Someone please help me with this. Thank you.

I was experimenting with the Snow Leopard Server DVD on my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. I started the installation process, expecting that it would not install on the Startup Disk, as I had not booted from the DVD.
To my surprise it installed!
