How do I uninstall PS 7 without a functional installer?

Since I installed Mac 10.5.8 my PS 7 will not funtion, and an error message pops up that says it cannot be used. I purchased PSE 10 to update photoshop and it says there is not enough memory to install it.  I figured if I ununstalled PS 7 that should free up enough memory, but don't know the correct way to do it. Thanks!

Is that the case where the newer systems can no longer run PowerPC code in emulation mode?  Or some other issue?  I'm not familiar with the Mac release nomenclature, as I am a PC guy.
If the former...
You *could* get a time machine (no, not the software from Apple, a real one), go back to a time when Photoshop 7 would run, do your Photoshop 7 uninstall in Rosetta or whatever, and return to the present.  Conceptually, just 4 simple steps.
Honestly, I don't know what you're supposed to do.  I suppose someone might be able to suggest the folders and/or files you'll need to delete.  Photoshop 7 pre-dates the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.
Seems a bit cheeky on Apple's part to make your perfectly good software - already installed on your system - unable to be run any longer.  Okay, more than a bit.

  • How to manually uninstall Adobe Acrobat 9 or force installation?

Acrobat was not cleanly uninstalled with a installation manager Total Uninstall, and now the standard uninstaller is no longer available.  Reinstallation is currently not possible because the installer believes Acrobat is still installed.  It seems my only option is to manually uninstall Acrobat, or possibily simplier option of forcing installation.  I have removed all directories and subdirectories associated with Acrobat but this is not enough.  Any help would be appreciated.

Well I guess you know now not to use crappy 3rd party utilties. What's wrong with using your OSes application removal anyways ?! That's what it's there for. <end of rant>
Go to Microsoft download and get the "Installer Cleanup Utility" (not sure if that's the correct name, but it's close enough . Run it and see if you can proceed with the installation of Acrobat.
FWIW it's not as simple as that.  We use an administrative install point, (following adobe's "instructions" I might add), and several systems, including mine, got pretty jacked up from the 9.3.2 quarterly update.
Had to rip it out by the roots, and the msi cleanup is only part of the solution.  Don't ask for a howto - I'm still too traumatized.
Registry surgery, boot to safe mode, remove application directory, some start->run entries, yada yada yada.  Had to boot into linux to fix the recycle bin after all was said and done.
    What a bloated mess.
I will add that most systems were fine, but this application is waaaaaaay too complex for what it does.  Installation is fragile in a managed desktop environment, repair tedious.  Updates are unforgiveably large and The MSP approach to patches/updates is a freaking nightmare to deal with.  It sprays crap all over the system, the registry, and what the installer does is poorly documented if at all.
Funny how adobe nevers seems to chime in on any of these threads, BTW.

  • How to automatcally uninstall Office 2007 32 bit for installation of Office 2010 64 bit

I have an MSP that will automatically install my companies 64 bit version of Office 2010 provided Office 2007 32 bit is already uninstalled. However, the option to uninstall previous versions of Office does not work in the MSP. We have Office 2007 32 bit
currently installed and whenever I run the MSP I receive the following: "Setup Error You cannot install the 64 bit version of the Office 2010 because you have 32 bit Office products installed."
Is there a way to automatically remove Office 2007 using the MSP or some other method? Thanks.
    Wedgies

What are you creating your MSP with?  I'm thinking that because you're calling the Office 64bit setup routine, that one of the first checks it does before it even processes your config.xml file is to check for previous versions installed, and it hits
the 32bit wall and stops.  What you should probably do is create a package that has two routines in it.  First process the uninstall of Office 2007 32bit, and once that's done process the Office 64 bit installation.  You could do this with a
package created by Installshield or Wise and some logic to process Step 1 (Remove Office 32bit) and then upon success of that process Step 2 (Office 64bit Install).
On a different note...is there a business requirement that you have for the 64Bit version of office?  If not...I don't think this is all worth the headache, unless you specifically need umpteen million rows of data in Excel, and the machines you're
deploying on have more than 4GB of RAM....just my opinion...
Also, I'm not sure this is a volume activation question though you might get more responses from the Setup and Deployment forum

    Hope this helps,

Find an automatically saved or recovered file
The next time that you open an application, files in the AutoRecovery folder are listed in the Open Recent list. Or you can find the files in the /Users/ username/Library/Application Support/ Microsoft/Office/Office 2011 AutoRecovery.

    Hi Marsh,
To achieve your requirement, you may reference the below query.
--pivot the table to get the expected output
    ;WITH cte AS(
SELECT *,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY LocationDesc,BandGroup ORDER BY BandGroup) AS rn FROM [TmpBandGroup]
    SELECT LocationDesc,[>=360],[>=300],[>=270],[>=240],[<240]

    (MAX(EmployeeName) FOR BandGroup IN([>=360],[>=300],[>=270],[>=240],[<240])) PVT
    ORDER BY LOCATIONDESC
--the pivot result can be validated with the queries below
    ;WITH cte AS(
SELECT *,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY LocationDesc,BandGroup ORDER BY BandGroup) AS rn FROM [TmpBandGroup]

  • How to uninstall OS 9 without deleting Classic running Tiger?

OS 9 has become unusable, but it works fine in Classic Mode. I tried doing a reinstall and doing a clean install. I thought it would remove the old OS 9 and reinstall a new version. Instead it created a preveous folder of OS 9 and reinstalled another corupted version of OS 9! How do I uninstall OS 9 without deleting Classic running Tiger? Then I want to do another fresh install of OS 9. How is this done?

  • How do I uninstall snow leopard? please help

Hey everyone, I am having a lot of troubles with snow leopard and since its not really a BIG difference between leopard, i decided to go back to leopard, so ok.
I got my 17 inch mac book pro, it came with leopard, and with the snow leopard installation cd, and i installed it, now, my question is, how do i uninstall snow leopard without leaving any trace??
    please help, its really urgent
I want to go back to leopard

To do the most in terms of leaving no trace, you will need to do an erase and install. Start from your Leopard DVD by holding down c when starting up. Next, when able, choose your language and stop. Then, using the menus at the top, select Disk Utility; check to see that your volume's partition is GUID; and make it GUID if necessary. Then, erase your drive. Next, quit Disk Utility and continue the install. After the install is complete, insert your Leopard applications disk and install the programs you want. Now, you are done except for restoring you data, apps, and settings using whatever media are available to you.
As implied, you need to have a plan to get your data and apps back especially. In this regard, it may be less important for you to get your users and settings back.
If you are not prepared backup-wise, then you can use your Leopard DVD, again by starting up to it, to do an archive and install. Since you want no trace of Snow Leopard, I would not choose the option of preserving user and network settings. After doing an the archive and install, your archives will be in the Previsous Systems folder. • How can I uninstall FullContact?

How do I uninstall FullContact/Cobook without losing my contact data?I originally signed up for Cobook which I loved. But now that FullContact is involved, my email is badly hacked and all my contacts disappear from iCloud on the same day. So, I'm dumping FullContact. Unfortunately, now they've got all my data and I can't find any information on how to get that data back into  "Contacts' on my Mac. I use iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro. I hope someone can help me.

I should add that FullContact moved all my data from Apple Contacts to their own Carddav system. So, I've added that account to my Apple Contacts so that I can see them there. But if I stop using FullContact all that data goes away.

  • How do I uninstall MasterWriter from Mac Book Pro?

I've installed a trial version of MasterWriter on my MacBook Pro and now would like to uninstall it, but there is no option available to do so. How would I uninstall this software without an uninstall option? Thank you.

    Hello Gabe,
Thank you for the question.  You can use these steps to uninstall an application from your MacBook Pro:
    Uninstall apps
To uninstall apps you purchased from the Mac App Store, hold down an app’s icon in Launchpad until all the icons begin to jiggle. Click an app’s delete button (x).If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, it can’t be uninstalled. For example, apps that come with OS X can’t be uninstalled.
To uninstall other apps, drag the app to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash.
If you change your mind, before emptying the Trash, select the app in the Trash, then choose File > Put Back.
Warning: When you empty the Trash, the app is permanently removed from your Mac. If you have any files that you created with the app, you may not be able to open them.
