How do I unistall garageband?

How do I unistall garageband?

Where do you want to uninstall? On your iPad/iPhone or on your Mac, as your profile signature indicates?
On your mac you delete the GarageBand application from the Applications folder by selecting it and pressing command-delete (this will require your administrator password), and it will depend on your other audio applications (MainStage, Logic) if you will want to delete files from the system Library -
     /Library/Application Support/GarageBand
     /Library/Audio/Apple Loops
and the user library. These folders are holding several GB of data, but other applications you have installed may be using these files as well.
On your IOS device, tap and hold an icon until all your icons start wiggling. You’ll see an X icon in the top-left corner of some of the app's icons. Tap the x to delete the app.

How do I use GarageBand as a amp/speaker to listen to my Electronic Drum set? I have a MIDI-USB cord already but I can't figure out how to listen to my set through the software using my computer speakers?

If you want to listen to the sounds of your drum set, you should use an audio cable and connect it to the computer's line-in, then create a real instrument track.
If you use a Midi/USB interface, you'll have to create a software instrument track and select one of GB's drumsets as the instrument. Hopefully your drumset's midi notes are mapped to the right sounds in GB.

  • How can I unistall Vista from Satellite L300-11Q and install Windows XP

    Hello!
Help please: How can I unistall Windows Vista from my notebook and install Windows XP?
Should I do something with discs and BIOS before it, or I can just format disc C and then install XP from CD-disc?
How can I make a recovery disc before uninstalling Vista?
    Thank you very much!

    Greetings,
I had such a hard time finding exact information on downgrading Vista to XP recently, I'm posting this on several different threads in hopes I can save others some time and effort; sorry for cross-posting.
When installing XP over Vista, instead of worrying over getting Intel Matrix Storage, streamlining a CD with it and SPII, blah, blah, blah, why not just go into BIOS at startup and switch the SATA setting under Advanced Disk Management from (whatever the default is) to "Compliant"? This allows the XP install to see the drive as an IDE, (actually ATA), and POOF! Your problems are solved with a LOT less hassle. (The XP install disk DOES have to have Service Pack II on it.)
I just did this over the past weekend, and it worked great. (Actually I didn't have much of a choice, as the processor on my Toshiba is an AMD, not Intel, so all the downloading and configuring CD's with matrx storage in the world wouldn't have done me a bit of good; the AMD processor "chipset" is contained within the graphics driver setup.)
Save yourselves a lot of time and headaches and forget the whole matrix storage thing. As far as I can tell it would also work with an Intel processor, but since you can "turn SATA off", IMHO it's a huge waste of time mucking around with the matrix storage. If you want full SATA configuration after all's said and done, you can always go back in and turn the BIOS switch back to SATA after you have XP up and running and have just used the executable to install the matrix drivers.
    Cheers,

  • How do I get GarageBand files from an older mac onto my iPad 2?

How do I get GarageBand files from an older mac onto my iPad 2? I can open the GarageBand Documents folder through iTunes while the iPad is sync'd but I can't seem to "add..." any of my old .band folders to the iPad to be able to view those music projects. When I tried I could only sync individual data files contained in the .band folders over to the iPad and there was no way to organize them into .band project folders. What can I do here to get these GarageBand projects onto my iPad for further use?

This is not currently possible. You can transfer an iPad project to the Mac, and transfer songs/loops from the Mac to iPad, but not GB files from Mac to iPad.

  • How do I install Garageband on IOS 7?

How do I install Garageband for IOS7?
About a month ago I upgraded to IOS7 and decided that I wanted to put Garageband on my devices.
Yesterday, I went to the store to download and discovered two major disappointments:
    a) Garageband no longer free (I get it, Apple can change their prices, yeah, but I was disappointed since Garageband was one of the reasons I finally upgraded)
    b) I wasn't given the option to download the version for IOS 7 (free or not, I feel like I should be able to download the version that's compatible with my device.)
Instead, I'm offered to pay for an app that was previously free, and upgrade the OS on ALL of my mobile devices, which will eliminate compatibility with my laptop since I'm not sure it will handle Mavericks, thus forcing me to upgrade my laptop in order to download an app for my mobile device that until a few days ago was free.
This tendency to aggressively force upgrades is NOT part of the mentality I have come to associate with Apple. Perhaps I'm naiive, but this was not part of the company I have been faithful to since time of the IIe.
Perhaps I'm mistaken in my understanding, and there's an avenue for installing Garageband on my IOS7 device.
If there is, please let me know.

    a) Garageband no longer free (I get it, Apple can change their prices, yeah, but I was disappointed since Garageband was one of the reasons I finally upgraded)
GarageBand 2.0 has never really been free. Last year, when GarageBand 2.0  had been released, it came preinstalled or for free as a package deal when buying a new iPad, iPod, iPhone with iOS 7 after a certain date in September last year. But GarageBand was never part of iOS 7.
If your device was older, you had to buy GarageBand 2.0.  You could buy it for free, but had to buy an in-app purchase, to be able to use it. Now Apple has reversed the procedure. You pay for GarageBand (the same price as previously the in-app purchase), but now the in-App purchase is free.  What you have to pay for GarageBand remains the same. So just buy the version you are seeing at the AppStore. It should not make a difference, if you pay for the basic app or for the in-App Purchase.
Now, GarageBand comes fro free with new iPhone 6 devices:  Free Apple apps for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 8

  • How do I reinstall GarageBand 6.0.5 on my MacBook Pro Retina running OS X Mavericks?

I have recently installed the latest version of GarageBand on my recently purchased MacBook Pro 13" Retina. After discovering two GarageBand icons in the Launchpad, I removed the older version, only to discover that the app was also automatically erased from the drive instead of being moved to Trash. I now need the older GarageBand 6.0.5 as the newer version 10.0.1 lacks certain essential features that the older one had. However, due to the lack of a restore from Trash option (due to the unexpected automatic erase once removed from Launchpad) as well as a complete lack of installation DVDs in the newer MacBook Pros, how do I reinstall GarageBand 6.0.5?

After discovering two GarageBand icons in the Launchpad, I removed the older version, only to discover that the app was also automatically erased from the drive instead of being moved to Trash.
That is what deleting from the Launchpad is supposed to do - removing the icon and uninstalling the app. It follows the model of the IOS home screen, where you can browse and remove apps installed on the iPad or iPhone.
if you want to clean up your launchpad without uninstalling applications, create a folder in the launchpad by dragging the icons on top of each other. I have one folder apps that I have never used, but do not want to delete.
I now need the older GarageBand 6.0.5 as the newer version 10.0.1 lacks certain essential features that the older one had.
Have you a Time Machine backup of your system, that goes back in time before the time you deleted GarageBand '11? I have seen some posts of forum members, who downgraded the system back to MacOS 10.8.5, but even that did not make GB 6.0.5 appear at the AppStore again.

  • Hi there, can anyone tell me how to make make Garageband ignore HDMI as an audio output-device on a 2013 Mac Mini? Now it keeps on prompting me: Do you want want to use the HDMI device (monitor without audio) for audio output? Thanks in advance, Grtz T.

    Hi there,
Can anyone tell me how to make make Garageband ignore HDMI as an audio output-device on a 2013 Mac mini i7 using an Apogee jam as an input for bass and a Behringer USB DAC with RCA audio output? Now it keeps on prompting me: Do you want want to use the HDMI device (monitor without audio) for audio output? I'm also suffering massive audio lag issues with the Apogee jam after waking the mini from sleepmode, wich pretty much renders it useless.
    Thanks in advance,
    Grtz T.

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.

  • How do I uninstall Garageband 02 and install Garageband 08?

I just bought a second mini (used) that has Garageband 02 on it, and need to get Garageband 08 on it instead. I have the disks that came with my first mini. How do I get Garageband 02 out of the used mini and Garageband 08 on it? The two disks I have don't say which has iLife on them. Thanks.

well, I tried using disk 2 and the message was "insert disk 1", which gives me the message that I can't install the software on that computer. I sure was hoping disk 2 would work. Have spent too much time on this.

  • I have a recorder that outputs wma files. How can I get garageband to use my wma files?

I have a recorder that outputs wma files. How can I get garageband to use my wma files?

I don't think that GarageBand can use wmas, but there's always good old conversion, and GarageBand can definitely use mp3s. Personally, I recommend media.io for stuff like this, but of course it depends on the size of your files. Otherwise I don't know that there's anyway to get GarageBand to work with them...

  • How transfer file from garageband mac to garageband iPad?

how transfer file from garageband mac to garageband iPad?

    In answer to the question:
how transfer file from garageband mac to garageband iPad?
Transfering a file from Garageband on the Mac to Garageband in the iPad is not just a case of putting it in iTunes as a number of people seem to state.  The XML package which is the Garageband Song File has to be changed before a Garageband Mac file will be downloadable to the iPad.  This can be done manually but is time consuming and tedious.  After doing it manually a few times and making mistakes, I have created an Applescript Application to do this called:
Garageband Mac to iPad Oneshot Converter
I have made a video of the converter in use which I have post on my Youtube ' fixed1t ' pages.  This Application and the video solves the question above and shows the song file on the mac being moved and running on the iPad.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ruT-dUhh2c
There is a link on the Description of the fixed1t youtube video to enable viewers to download a trial version. The link will also allow viewers to purchase a copy once you have tried i, but you are under no obligation to purchase and the trial is completely free.  I am selling it for £5 UK and I will receive over £4 of this should you decide to purchase using the PayPal link.
Please try it out and give me feedback, even if you don't wish to buy it.
    Thanks Malcolm (aka fixed1t)
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

AMelie Eliabeth the Adobe Download Assistant can be dragged to your trash can.  There is no separate uninstaller or any other application files to remove.

  • HOW DO I UNINSTALL GARAGEBAND

HOW DO I UNINSTALL GARAGEBAND BECAUSE I DOWNLOADED THE WHOLE VERSION BUT I DONT NEED IT NO MORE AND ITS TAKING MY MEMORY, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO DELETE THE PROGRAM JUST UNINSTALL IT?

Uninstalling means deleting the program (and some other files).
By far the most storage hungry part of GB are the loops, so you might just delete the corresponding folder: HD/Library/Audio/Apple Loops.
If you want more free space, delete the Instrument Library: HD/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library.
That will leave GB without loops and instruments, but still capable of recording audio.
If you want to get rid of GB completely, do a Spotlight search with "garageband" and delete all the files that come up (that includes the program).
And please don't write in all-caps, that's considered shouting (and hard to read).

    How do I unistall searchya

Note as a quick initial step just choosing the correct search engine in the search bar should allow Firefox to use that search engine in all searches.
    * see [[Search bar - Easily choose your favorite search engine]]
Now for the removal. This needs three steps
#You will need to identify and remove the program using the Windows Control panel. <br> see [[Disable or remove Add-ons]]
#Check Firefox and remove any toolbar extensions that are unwanted. There is a quick reset option, but you may wish to try to avoid that. If you do use it close any necessary open tabs. Bookmark any left open and any Firefox extensions' homes . (You will loose open tabs and any extensions if you reset.) <br /> '''[[Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page]]'''
#Now set things back to normal. There is a search reset addon that helps with this. It installs, resets, and then uninstalls itself. <br />https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
