How do I unlink my husband's Macbook from mine?

My husband and I each have a Macbook pro. We have been using the same Apple ID. We recently upgraded to Mavericks, and now his Safari is linked to mine. When I delete a bookmark in my Safari, for example, it deletes on his Safari as well as mine. I thought that maybe he could create a new user, but that just gives him a clean slate, and he loses all of his bookmarks. The second thing I tried was to add an AppleID to my profile on his computer, but that did not work. Is there anyway to unlink? Can he build his user profile upon mine? He's now signed up for his own AppleID BTW.
Thanks!

One of you needs to create a new Apple ID. Then that person needs to go to iCloud in System Preferences and remove the account you are sharing and add their new account.

  • How do I unmerge my husband's phone from mine since the last update?

My husband and I use  my iCloud account on our iPhones, but since the last update the messages are merged. How do I unmerge them? I am now getting copied on the texts getting sent to his phone and if I text him it shows up on my phone.

To fix this go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and do one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on all of your devices (the easiest solution); or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address on one of your phones, on the other one tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID (so both phones are using a different Apple ID for iMessage).  Note: you can continue to share an Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores.  It does not need to be the same as the ID you are using for iMessage, FaceTime and other services.

  • How do I remove my husband's contacts from my phone?

We share a computer and when I log in to sync my phone, his contacts are synced also.  I've configured my contacts to my email account but that didn't work. Help?!

To remove the contacts you have to press on every single contact and then click edit then if you scroll down you will find a delete contact button. And to download an app with his id he can go to seeting on the iphone then store and click on apple id then click sign out and then he can sign with his apple id.
    I hope this helped

how can i transfer videos and pictures in photos folder of mini ipad to my laptop

Connect your mini to your computer via USB.  The mini will be recognized by your laptop as a camera and will offer the option to transfer pictures and videos.

  • After photos are downloaded to MacBook from mini iPad, if they are removed form the camera will they also be removed from Photos also?

After photos are downloaded from iPad Camera,  if they are deleted from the camera, will they be automatically deleted from the iPad Photos?

Yes, both Photos and Camera use the same data in Camera Roll.

  • HT4519 my husbands iPhone and my iPhone are receiving our texts at the same time, how do we unlink ourselves?

my ipone and my husbands ipone are linked, so we are receiving each others texts. How do i unlink so this doesnt happen?

Settings app > Messages > Send & Receive. Make sure you are not using the same addresses. Optionally, one of you could also create a different AppleId to use for this fucntion.

Copy the whole iTunes folder from the My Music directory to the Music folder in the Home directory on the Mac.
The easiest way to do this is to create another user with the second library.
If you want both libraries on the same user account then you will need to choose which library iTunes opens everytime you launch (hold down the OPTION key while launching) it as itunes can only read one library at a time. If you do not choose on launch it will open the last library it was connected to. You will also need to rename the iTunes folder when you move it (eg: iTunes2) because your husband's library will already be in the Music directory in a folder named iTunes.
You can also leave your library on the PC and turn on Home Sharing. As long as you leave the PC running with iTunes open, you will be able to access it from any Mac, Apple TV or iOS devices on the network that is signed in to Home Sharing with the same  Apple ID.

  • My family of four (2 iPhones, 2 iPods) all share the same iTunes account.  Many text messages sent to or from mine or my husband's phones are also received on my daughter's iPod, and vice versa. How do I fix this?

How can I keep text messages sent from my or husband's phone from being received on daughter's iPod, and vice versa? We have five devices on one iTunes account - 2 iPhones, 2 iPods and an iPad.

    Hello Hrd1977,
This is typically caused by both devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime.  I would recommend signing out of iMessage on your daughter's device.  Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out. Then sign in with the desired Apple ID.

  • How to find revision number on my macbook ?

How to find revision number on my macbook ?

Wrong question, as there has been no formal revision number issued by Apple. What you may have seen on some postings about revision C, D, etc. is probably no more than rumor.
You can get some information about the place and date of production of your computer by selecting the "Blue Apple" in your menu bar, then selecting About this Mac. Press More, then look at your serial number.
    My serial number is W8612xxxxx..
"W8" lists the production location in China.
"612" means that my MBP was produced in the 12th week of 2006.
One of the defects in early production runs was a noisy inverter for the LCD screen. It's likely that that was a parts problem that was remedied in progress of production. My "week 12" MBP has no problems at all.
My MBP runs a bit hot, but within specs. For that matter, I found the TiBook it replaced was uncomfortably warm as a laptop. There's a simple remedy if you want work in laptop mode. Just put something -- a notebook, a rigid plastic sheet a few millimeters thick or the like -- under the MBP and you (and the computer) will be more comfortable.
