How do I unlock a protected document?

how do I unlock a protected document?

Usual problem is capitalisation.
Did you accidentally have the caps lock down?
Another one is the stupid autocorrection in OS X it can interfere with lots of things including CAPTCHA passwords in browsers.

  • How do I use a protected document in Adobe Reader?

I am trying to use a document that requires a user name and password in Adobe Reader on my tablet. The problem is that I have tried everything and nothing I do will allow me to enter this information. It says editing is not allowed with this protected document, but it is set up to allow editing so I can put in the info required to unlock the contents. I have attempted to search your database and all the answers I have tried have not worked. Please help! I am at a loss and I need this document unlocked. Thank you!

Adobe Reader mobile products (Reader for iOS, Reader for Android, etc.) do not support commenting or form filling with secured (hence, encrypted) PDF documents.
Please use the desktop version of Adobe Reader on your Windows or Mac computer to fill in the secured PDF form.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • How do you unlock a pages document?  nothing I see on the forums duplicates my situation.

how do you unlock a document in pages that doesn't say "locked" at the top of the page???

Thanks for answering me!  You might not be reading my question correctly because I think I am confused.  So now I have a couple questions.  I have never used the the Document Inspector to lock a file so that is not the issue.  It has not asked for a password either.
When you said a document will be locked after a period of time I have experienced that but usually it drops a box down asking if you want to unlock it.  When you said, "as determined by my System Preferences" I dont' see anything in system preferences about documents.....what am I missing here??  I am using Lion 10.7.4.  So I would like to know the answer to that. I am wondering if you meant it can be set to lock or not lock???
That said.....in the meantime I had done a duplicate and then made it a template just to see if I could accomplish what I was trying to do and that didn't work either.  SOooooooo let me ask you this.....what I did was take a bunch of clip art off the internet and put it all on one document page in Pages.  I named it "tropical clip art."  When I open that document I can not drag and drop any of the clip art anywhere.  Not to my desktop, not to another document etc.  That is what made me think it was locked.  The document name is at the top and it has "edit" greyed out next to the name.  What the heck am I doing wrong?  I am fairly new to Pages altho been an Apple user for awhile.  I have always fuddled my way through using Pages.  If I can not put the clip art on a document to save it all in one place, what is my other option?  I was trying to avoid going back onto the internet repeatedly to get clip art I want to use over and over.  It is free clip art.  If I go to the internet I can drag and drop it anywhere.
When I try to drag and drop it off the Pages document it disappears and I have to go to "undo typing" under edit to get it back.  Am I making any sense??
And this is my very first time on these forums too so that took me a bit to figure out.
    Thanks so much!!!!!

  • How do I unlock a secure document?

    Hi,
I opened a fillable form that has been marked as locked or secure with a padlock icon labeled on it.  How can I unlock the document so I can edit it and fill out the form?

    Hi Drumbrae,
What are you trying to unlock? If it is an object (such as a Table) click on it to select it.
The little x marks will show that it is locked. But because it is now selected, the Menu item Arrange > Unlock will work.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • How do I unlock a locked document?

I Do not understand why all of a sudden documents are opening as locked.  I never locked any of them a need to know how to unlock them.

We need more information to help you. What indicates to you that they're locked? Are they locked if you open them on a Mac or PC in Reader or Acrobat?

    Hi noswam123,
If a PDF file is password protected, the only way to open that document is with the password. You will have to get that password from the person who created the PDF.

  • How to define a Rights Management process "Protect Document" with an watched folder?

    Hello.
I try to build a process in Workbench 11.0, that uses the Protect Document operation of Rights Management.
The process should use a watched folder as start point.
My problem is, how to fill the operations parameters (Input Doc, Document name, Policy set name, Policy name, ...)
    Jürgen

First -- by default iTunes stores its Library in "My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl", and its Music in "My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\".
Make sure you have a "iTunes Library.itl" after the restore -- if not, and your backup software supports it, try an older version of the file. If your backup software only keeps the last version of the file -- well, then you are SOL, and you will have to re-add the files to the Library. You will also have to rebuild your playlists, ratings, etc.
Since you have "very few files" in the iTunes Music directory -- either you weren't storing your music there, or your backup didn't work. Are you sure you weren't using a non-default location for your music files?
If you had a hardware problem then it is likely that your backup stopped working properly at some point. This is why you need a rotating backup scheme and periodic archiving of files to non-writeable media (If you have the time/money)

  • How to I unlock a password-protected file?

How do I unlock a file that I have saved without knowing the password?

    Hi eks,
The only way to open (or edit) a password-protected file is by using the password. Did you save the file from a website or email? If so, you may be able to get the password from the person who created the file.

  • My new Mavericks OS has locked all my documents. How can I unlock them?

My new Mavericks has locked all my documents. How can I unlock them?

Open a Finder window then control click Documents in the Sidebar on the left then click Get Info.
In the Get Info panel click the lock icon bottom right corner.
You will be prompted for your admin password to proceed.
That should unlock your Documents folder.

  • Unlocking a protected PDF document

I recently downloaded some knitting patterns that I had paid for. Now, when I try to open them, they say they are protected & want a password.
I didn't set them up that way. How do I unlock them?

    Hello there,
That sounds like a frustrating situation! If the PDF files are password-protected, it will be impossible to open them without the correct password. I recommend getting in touch with whomever you bought the patterns from; whoever created the PDF file should know the correct passwords or how to find them. I'm sorry I can't help you more than this, but this forum is for questions about Acrobat.com (www.acrobat.com), and I am more or less limited to that product for support. Please let me know if I can offer any more assistance; I'll do what I can to help a fellow knitter!
    Best regards,
    Rebecca

  • How to convert a protected document into a PDF?

    Hello,
I need to develop a plugin that needs to convert a protected document in office format into a pdf. I looked into the sdk and found the method AVConversionConvertToPDFWithHandler (). But can this method also apply the digital rigths of the protected document to the newly created pdf?
Is there any other way to convert a protected document into a pdf and at the same time apply the rights to the pdf? I don't want to use Adobe LiveCycle for digital rights management.
What are the requirements to develop a DRM plugin for acrobat?
    Please Help!
    Thanks in advance!

The AVConversion APIs will use Office itself to perform the conversion (well, the rendering part).   I would ASSUME that when Office opens the document, it will ask for any necessary passwords or other information to determine if the user has the rights to view and/or process the content of the document.  If they do, then the conversion will succeed otherwise it will fail.   The PDF will not have any DRM applied to it, since we don't know anything about the Office DRM options.
If you wish to apply DRM to the PDF, you will need to do that yourself or using tools such as LiveCycle Rights Management.

It was tricky sorting out the actual questions in your post. I think the other poster has one question in hand, here's the other:
