There's no way around activation lock. If you purchased this from someone else you'll have to contact them and have them remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. Otherwise you won't be able to use it.

What do you mean with your device isn't supported?
The 4th gen won't support iOS 7, but other than that, it will support any app if you installed the latest version of iOS, which is iOS 6(.1).
You can upgrade with iTunes or in Settings --> General -- > Software Update. (This requires atleast iOS 5.)

UConnect 430N and iPod 4th Gen

I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the uConnect 430N media center. I have been wanting to use my 4th generation iPod for various podcasts that I don't want to put on the media center's hard drive. The problem I have is that whenever I plug the iPod into either of the USB ports (in the radio faceplate or inside the armrest) it never shows up as an AUX device. I thought that it might have been an issue with the USB port, but I was able to use my iPhone 4S, without Bluetooth turned on, and it worked perfectly showing up as an USB AUX device.
Has anyone else had issues like this before? I have updated the iPod's OS to the most current and looking at all of the documentation that came from Jeep on the media center, the 4th generation iPod should work, but it is not.

Hi thankyou for your reply, i wasn't thinking of a home repair, it was actually ok when i got it, think he must have knocked it last night, i bought it online and im guessing that if i sent it back to apple they wouldn't replace it as they would say he damaged it, just wondered if anyone knew if it could be repaired by apple and how much its going to cost as don't know if its worth it thanks

you can't, the only way to get rid of the code is to restore the device as new.
make sure you transfer your photos to a computer before doing so, using: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

One you get iTunes t see the iPod, place the iPod n recovery mode and then restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. For recovery mode see:

Since it is not your syncing computer, there is not way to prevent erasing your iPod and starting anew. When you get back to your syncing computer, restore the iPod from the backup on that computer.

However, it originally had a factory installed Nike+ app on it and it did not install with the restore. I use this app daily with the running chip to log my workouts. Anyone know how to get this app back from Apple? Loading the Nike app from the app store is not the same thing as you need gps running continually for it to work (as with an iphone). Can't have that with my ipod unless I'm connected to wifi. Help?? Thanks.

If you go to Settings do you see an entry for the Nike app? There is no way to delete or hide that app?
Have you tired using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it.
Next would be to restore a gain. First from backup then next to factory settings/new iPod.
