How do I unlock my Mail settings?

My 3rd Gen iTouch has the typical Mail app, but I cannot access the Mail settings to delete nor make changes.
The "Accounts" and "Fetch New Data" links are greyed out.
I recently changed Internet service providers, but made a Yahoo account, which I cannot access through the itouch Mail app, but I can access it through the Safari browser.
Thanks.

Check the Restrictions, in the General preferences, and see if the option to change mail account settings has been disabled.
Regards.

When I receive and answer e-mail, the correspondence is usually "nested" "behind"  the original message, and the number of replies, etc. are indicated with a number next to the original message in the inbox.  How can I change the mail settings so that every reply is listed individually in the inbox instead of having them "stacked" behind the original message.  I'm afraid I might accidentially overlook messages the way they are handled now.

Somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong, but what you have to do is go into Settings, Mail/Contacts/Calendars and under Mail, turn off "Organize by Thread".  I think that will make each message show individually.

I have a mac 10.5 and need help figuring out how to change my email settings so it does not automatically delete my inbox every 30 days.  How to I adjust the mail settings?

I think it must be an IMAP account then, & in Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Advanced>Keep copies for Offline viewing:>Don't keep copies, then on the Server, or maybe it's just this one itself, but on the Server you have a setting to remove eMails after 30 days.
If it's a POP account we'd have to investigate that... but you didn't say so I'm guessing here.

  • How do I change incoming mail settings in Snow Leopard Mail?

When I try to change the settings for my Mail app, in Snow Leopard, the incoming mail settings are greyed out.  What do I do to be able to change these?
(I had a problem, with my Mail account, which a consultant fixed for me on my laptop.  But I cannot remember what he did to access the incoming mail server preferences, and make the changes, because on my desktop these are still greyed out.)

use the mail setup wizard, head over to Mail Community, mobileme ended.

  • HT5225 How do I change my mail settings to receive/send to from iCloud

It says in this article:  that you can keep your .mac and .me email addresses, even if your systems do not support icloud, as long as you move before 30 June.  "If your contacts or calendars are only available on me.com, you must export your contacts and calendar data before June 30, 2012." before you move to icloud from a non supported OS (mine is 10.5.8.)  I have done this.  All the emails in and sent are now in Mail but Mail is rejecting any changes to the Incoming Mail server detail (Mail >Preferences>General).  I have already set MobileMe to NOT synch (in my MobileMe account) but my iCloud has a MobileMe IMAP tag and always reverts to mail.mac.com from imap.mail.me.com, even though I have deselected and even deleted that old server.  Before I am asked, yes I am saving the settings, but when I go back 'in' there they are again.
icloud is working fine (but without any contacts of course) when I am accessing through safari.  I would like to have a mail account locally into which I could import my 'Address Book' and from where I could send and receive emails (like before).
There must be a way because otherwise Apple would not have sent me an email (like they did last night) which states:
You can now retain your me.com or mac.com address and keep your email working after MobileMe ends, even if you don’t meet iCloud requirements.
I have tried getting Entourage to work as well, no luck yet!
    Thank you.
ps I can't upgrade to either Snow Leopard and then Lion because I am a photographer and my equipment (2 printers, 2 scanners) although old works brilliantly well with 10.5.8. but would be defunct if upgraded.

hello, unfortunately when you search for this error message it appears that it might be related to malware that is active on your system and blocks file downloads.

  • How do I transfer all Mail settings from my MacPro to my MacBook

I managed to transfer most settings by copying some preference files, but what I don´t get to transfer is a sort of adressbook:
If I type a new e-mail and enter a letter or the beginning of a name in the adress-field, mail shows me all adresses, I have ever send an e-mail to, begining with this letter.
Which file do I need to copy, to have all these adresses on my macbook too?

    Hello Felix Bartelt!
Apple Mail communicates with Apple Address Book, so if you want all your contacts on your new machine, you have to export them from Address Book first (as vCards for example). To do that open up Address Book, choose the contacts or group of contacts you want to export, choose "export vcards" from the file-menu and type the filename. After that copy the created file to your new machine, open up Address Book and import the contacts using the import-command in the file-menu (at this point you have to browse for the earlier created vcards-file). Now all your contacts should also be available for Mail.

  • How do i delete all mail settings for an exchange account

I have an exchange account that is somehow wrong.  By wrong I mean corrupted to the point that it will not login to the exchange server, and then after too many attempts it locks me out of the exchange account.  Apple mail and MS Exchange.

Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility has the option to repair permissions, which should be given at least 2 hours to finish. Sometimes this fixes launching issues with Mail.
Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access lets you delete mail passwords which will be obvious what they are from the Keychain program. You may simply be able to repair the keychain which that program has the option of doing to fix your problem with Mail.
Users -> yourname -> Library -> Mail and Mail Downloads folders store all your locally stored e-mail.
    Users -> yourname -> Library -> Preferences -> com.apple.mail.plist
stores all the account setting information (not the actual mail) so you have to re-establish the account.

  • How can I unlock the print settings

I'm so angry at adobe ebooks. I have had to buy an ebook for a course I'm doing at university, because my library doesn't have, my campus book store doesn't have it, and I cannot find a hard copy in any of the book stores in my area. My lecturer has set 5 chapters of this book for required course reading, I buy an online copy from a book store, only to find that I cannot copy and paste the text (which I need to do as I am doing an assignment), and I can only print 10 pages per day (meaning I cannot even print out a chapter at a time so I can do my readings).
The main reason I'm angry about this is that computer screen resolution is 72dpi and a physical copy of the book from a printer is at least 300dpi. I get eyestrain reading from a computer screen, and now I can even print out a proper hard copy to do my work. THIS IS COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!
At least 80% of my readings are journal papers or articles which can be found online, and normally I can copy and paste the text to microsoft word and adjust the formatting so that I can actually read 3-400 pages of text and still be able to see afterwards. I'm NEVER buying another ebook again, and I'm going try and get my lecturer to set an alternate text for next time he teaches this course.
If there was a copy in the library I could at the very least photocopy the pages I need (which is where I get the rest of my readings from) so that I could to the reading in a reasonable amount of time. Only being to print 10 pages a day is a complete joke.
If an author actually wants their text to be studied and used in an academic setting, they shouldn't publish it in ebook form!!!

Fair use in Australia extends to 10% of the the words or one chapter of a published book.
Why should it take me a whole week to print out one chapter. I've got other research material to look at, and other things to do. It shouldn't take me a whole week to do what you should be allowed to do in one sitting.
A pages per day limit is useless when it comes to the purpose study. It should at the very least be a chapters/month option.
Also, if adobe is controlling the online security of the intellectual property, the onus should be on them to adhere to the copyrights in the various regions in which the intellectual property is distributed.
They should be able to the register the ip of the computer contacting there ebook database and figure out what country the user is in and apply the relevant copyright controls.
The Canadian comedy channel website manages to regionally control its content, I really don't see why this should be a problem for a multinational like adobe.

  • How to increase Indent in Mail messages and save as a  default

How can I persuade my Mail settings to accept  a larger Indent on a permanent basis.?
I find that my Canaon printer has problems with some fonts being too near the Left hand edge of the page.

You have to separate your step1 and step2 into two parallel loop.
If you put the two tasks in one loop, the lower speed task will affect the loop speed.
So that the program won't achieve the top speed.
Is continuous acquisition required for your application? Can sequence acquisition or finite acquisition be your workaround?
The memory handling in continuous acquisition is way a lot more difficult than finite acquisition.
I would suggest you to figure out how finite acquisition work and then jump into the continuous acquisition application.

  • Sync Mail settings With Outlook

Hello , i am totally new at this. I have a question, how I can sync my mail settings with Microsoft Outlook . In my situation , I use Microsoft Outlook of course. When I use the Mail app it downloads all my messages , however they each appear with a blue dot next to them indicating it's unread. So I want to make it that , if I read a message in the Mail app , it will also mark it as unread on the Outlook server . If I delete a message in Mail , it deletes on Outlook as well, and so on . Please tell me how i can do this, thanks.

Syncing via MobileMe might work - but it costs and you have to be able to install a client on the Outlook PC. There's a 60-day trial of you want to have a look

  • Send e-mail settings to smartphone via service messages?

    Good Day,
Is it possible to send e-mail settings to a blackberry phone via some form of service message so the phone user does not have to manually set it up?
We recently had to reinstall our Exchange server and are now having to change the e-mail settings on all our staff members phone's, however, some of these staff members are not in the same city as I.T. support and as the staff members are not very computer/smartphone literate, it will be difficult for us to walk them through on how to change the e-mail settings, especially if the autodiscovery does not report the settings correctly to the phone and the domain/server settings has to be entered manually.
One staff member in particular, has a Blackberry curve 9300.
Any suggestion's will be appreciated as we would prefer to, as well as in the future, be able to update the phones with the necissary settings by means of some form of service message rather than error prone manual intervention.

OK...then the answer is, well, maybe. It would require compromise of your security ethics.
One way to do what you desire is for you to log into the users BIS account on their carriers BIS website and configure the email account there...doing so would, of course, require you to know the users BIS credentials. Of course, this also would require that the carrier actually have such a website...not all do.
Another way would be to ring up the users carrier and impersonate the user, and have the carrier agent configure the email account.
If the employer provides the devices as well as the service plan to the user, then I suppose the security compromise required is less since, technically, both belong to the company, not the user. But, if these are BYOD devices and/or the carrier account does not belong to the employer, then you would be in essence hacking into the users account to accomplish this.
    Good luck!

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
