How do I 'unregister' Quicktime Pro on my old PC so I can use my registration key for my new PC?

If you are running Windows 7:
1) Go to Windows Explorer. Click 'Tools' then 'Folder Options'
2) Click 'View' Tab
3) Click radio button, 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives
4) close Windows Explorer
5) Re-open Windows Explorer
6) Naviagate to folder 'C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\QuickTime\'
7) Delete the file, 'com.apple.QuickTime.plist'
Note: This file is readable in notepad and contains the registration name and serial key.
8) Reopen Quicktime Pro and the registration is now blank

Outlook express stores the address book in a windows address book file. These have a WAB file extension. Locate the address .wab file on your old computer and put it on a USB disk to transfer to you new computer.
In the new computer type "contacts" without quotes into the search box on the start menu and press enter.
In The windows contact pane that appearsselect import from the top row and follow the prompts to load your wab file.
Then make a couple of changes to Thunderbird as I discuss here http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/windows-contacts.html to have the windows contacts appear in Thunderbird.

Do you have the install media? If not, you can download Acrobat from here: Download Acrobat products | 9, 8 - Adobe. You'll need your Acrobat serial number (see Find your serial number quickly - Adobe).
Note, as well, that the licensing agreement allows you to activate the software on up to two computers. If you've already activated it on two computers, deactivate on one before installing on the new computer (see Activation & Deactivation Help).

What happened to MERGING?

On the PowerBook G4, open Address Book and choose File > Back up Address Book...
Save it to your Desktop or directly to the MBP if it is already connected. Otherwise copy the Address Book backup file to the MacBook Pro. Email is also an option.
On the MacBook Pro, open (double-click) the Address Book Backup (abbu) file:
Contacts will launch and display the following:
Click Replace All which will do what it says.
Using Migration Assistant to migrate from Tiger to Mountain Lion simply does not work. Tiger to Lion works, Tiger to Mountain Lion does not. Apple does not provide specific directions regarding the use of Migration Assistant from Tiger to ML, only Tiger to Lion.

Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window.
Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. You should see your hard drive in the left hand column along with your other drives. Click on the drive and select the Erase tab. Set the format value to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and click the Erase button. After that has finished select the Partition tab. Type in a Name for your hard drive and select how many partitions you want from the Volume Scheme. The usual setting is one partition. Click on the Options button after you've selected a partition to make sure it's set for GUID. Then click the Apply button and after the Partitioning is done quit Disk Utility.
You can now follow the instructions on the install screen

It may not be that simple David. They're using a "server" and some of the Apache software may want to launch QuickTime at boot.
