How do I unstick the trackpad on my macbook?

I was wiping down my keyboard and then I could not use the trackpad.There isn't even a clicking sound now. I didn't think I had pushed that hard on the trackpad. I can use a wireless mouse but it will only left click and will not respond in the drop down boxes or even open certain ones. I can scroll down but in only some boxes, nothing is consistent. Is it possible I have just damaged the trackpad or could there be more to it?

Dusted with a dry cloth. No solvents. Now my keyboard is acting up too. I am not able to use anything except command Q and IF I can open a window then the wireless mouse will not open anything further. Example: I am able to right click into system preferences but I cannot click with the mouse (mac or wirless) on the "trackpad" icon to see further. But I can type in the word in the search bar....once in there again no mouse capabilities. I can move the arrow around but that is it.

In my household......
We have a single AppleID for iTunes purchases which is used on all 8 of our iOS devics and 3 computers. That way all apps purchased from the Mac or iOS app stores or content from iTunes can be used on any device.
Each of us (3 of us) then has our own iCloud account. None of our iCloud accounts are the same as the AppleID. The iCloud accounts are used for device backups, contact and calendar syncing, iCloud document files and photostream.
This way, we all share apps and media, but our contacts and calendars are not mixed and neither are our documents. Each person having their own iCloud account also helps with space when dealing with device backups.

If all else fails, try this. i used to do it all the time before. might or might not work with the new office.
if you have access to another computer with a cd/dvd rom, copy the entire contents of the cd on a thumb drive.
insert the thumb drive in your MB and do the install from there.
However, if you have the newer version of MS Office, Bandit's suggestion is much better.

After you go to system preferences/keyboard/input sources as suggested by sberman, click on the + button and scroll down to Portuguese and select that. Over at the right you will see the choices Brazilian, Brazilian abnt, Portuguese. You might want to add all three to see which you like best.
The "Brazilian" layout is pretty useless. It is identical to the US layout and the only way to make accents is via the option key shortcuts: option + n, then o gives you õ.
The Brazilian abnt and Portuguese layouts have dead keys for adding accents over at the right edge of the keyboard. But these may not match what is printed on your keys.
You may prefer to stay with the US layout. On that you can get accented letters by just holding down the base letter and selecting what you want from the popup menu that appears. Or you can use the option key shortcuts.
Another option is the layout called US International PC, which has accent deadkeys on ~, ', etc.
Which ever layout you want to use, you must select it in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen.

Option-shft-K will get you the Apple logo in many, but not all, fonts.
To find a font with a heart glyph use Character Viewer.

Here is something i copied from another forum site that could answer your question-
Look in your "System Profiler", you can find it using Spotlight or looking for it in the Utilities folder, which is in your Applications folder.
This will give you the model number, which you will then have to find online (probably using Google) to find out what speed that particular model number is.
Then again, someone might have an easier answer.
