How Do I Unsubscribe from the Mac-Forums Newsletter?

Apple has started another newsletter.  I don't want it. The One-Click Unsubscribe button at the bottom does not work. Nor does the Manage Subscriptions button. They both just tell you to log in and manage your email notifications. In addition to relentlessly tweaking software to make it less and less user friendly (iTunes, anyone?) Apple is turning into just another annoying corporation that harrasses you to buy stuff you don't want. Shame. Used to be a classy outfit.

  • How do I unsubscribe from the Apple Support Communities?

Please advise me on how to unsubscribe from the  Apple Support Communities.

Click here and turn off the email notifications. If you don't want them all turned off, go to each of the areas you want to unfollow and click the Following button at the top right corner; if you're running ad-blocking software, you may need to temporarily disable it.

I had the same thing happen some time ago though I know I didn't subscribe myself. I tried clicking on a bunch of stuff without avail and having received no response from Apple (surprised?), I ended up getting the smart idea as Niel has stated: use a translator. That'll probably be your fastest way to fix this.
Or you could learn Japanese. Now you have an excuse! :P

  • HT204088 How do I unsubscribe from The Magazine?

I downloaded The Magazine for a trial period. I don't want to "renew" for a paid subscription. For the past 4 months, I have been charged $2.14/month..  I see no way to 'unsubscribe' via the App Store, iTunes, or in The Magazine app itself.  How do I get this niggling little recurring charge to cease and desist?

  • How do I unsubscribe from The Daily?

I've gone to the "store" tab, "view apple I'd", and "manage subscriptions", turned off The Daily "auto renewal" and when I click "done" it says iTunes can't process the request--try again later. I've tried it many times over several days, and it always says the same thing. I just want to cancel the subscription, but it won't allow me to do it.

Thanks to you and Lumenium for the extra information. I do not have that app. If you have not done so, please send feedback to the iTunes store at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html.
Since it looks like you are being charged money because you cannot access this unsubscribe feature, please also use http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html, try the ExpressLane and call a toll free Apple support line, if available.
iTunes functions that are on the iPad are usually also available through the computer version of iTunes. You can see if that is the case for iTunes supported 3rd party subscription services like this one. You may see the same behavior there as well but it sounds like there is just an issue with this particular service/feature and not with iTunes as a whole.

  • How to stop receiving e-mails from the Adobe Forums?

After the recent upgrade to the Adobe Forums you may notice that you are receiving additional e-mail messages from the Adobe Forums.
To turn off e-mail notifications please complete the following steps:
    Go to https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
Click on your Avatar and choose the Preference option
Alternately you can click on https://forums.adobe.com/user-preferences!input.jspa to access your Preferences.
Under the General Preferences you can adjust your e-mail preferences.  You can choose which type of notifications you wish to receive e-mail notifications for.  I would recommend disabling the e-mail regarding Moderation Notifications
Once your selection has been made then click the Save button to apply the settings change.

What does “I cannot export or copy and paste or drag the mail over” mean?
Mail stores most preferences and all account settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (except the passwords, which are stored in the keychain). Everything else, including all your messages and mailboxes, is stored within the ~/Library/Mail/ folder.
Similarly, Address Book stores the settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist and the data in ~/Library/Application Support/AddresBook/.
Other applications store preferences and data in other places. You may want to ask in the appropriate forums for more information on those.
If both computers are running the same major version of Mac OS X, copying these files & folders from one computer to the other is all you need to do in order to have an exact copy of all your data on both computers.
In order to avoid potential permission issues, copy the files operating on the destination computer and while logged in as the user that’s going to use them. Also, be sure the affected applications aren’t running on either computer while doing that.
Alternatively, you may use Migration Assistant, as Michael suggested:
Transferring data with Setup Assistant / Migration Assistant FAQ
And you may want to read the following articles as well:
Transferring files between two Macintosh computers
How to back up and restore your important Mac OS X 10.4 files
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

How do I unsubscribe from subscription VIP in the game StarMaker? every week, I removed 66 rubles, while I'm there not even sit, and how do I unsubscribe don't know, please help

Contact the maker of the app. Apple has nothing to do with subscriptions to third party apps.

my windows(8.1 64bit) partition is read only from the mac(yosemite) side of things. Anybody have a clue on how to fix this? Also, slightly frustrating as well, windows crashes every time I attempt to open a file from the mac partition.

All Office applications will also try to open a temporary work file in the same location as the source file. This implies the source file directory also needs to be writable for this temporary file. Since the default HFS+ driver provides only read-only access, such temporary files will fail to open, and will cause the application to fail.
As a test copy the file you want to edit, say an Excel spreadsheet from the OSX file system to the C: drive on the Windows side and try to open it. If you look in this directory, you should see two files, the source and a temporary file. You may have to force the temporary file to be opened on a read-write file system, by manipulating the folder for temporary files.

  • How do I download an app from the Mac App Store but not install it yet?

How do I download an app from the Mac App Store but not install it yet?
Can I simply download it and not install?
What if the App gets updated before I download it?
Why? Well, I am very busy and wish to install at my leisure even though I have purchased the App (required at a specific day in the month in order to appear on my business accounts).
    Thanks.

There is a difference in what Kappy stated and what you stated. A major paid upgrade (v2.x to v3.0), yes, costs money, as it would in any other delivery stream. Updates (v3.0 to v3.1) to a a major version are free.
Most apps sold through the Mac App Store (MAS) are the type that use the simple drag & drop installation. Those are downloaded directly to the designated apps folder and installation is done. Large pro-type apps download an installer to your Apps folder. Those you can install at your leisure. The MAS does not have a lot of apps using this type of installation.
Be sure to always backup your MAS purchases, because there is no guarantee that the app will always be available for download in the future and it is your responsibility to archive copies.

I have macbook pro 13" I want to know how to copy files from my mac to the external Toshiba Hard Drive. I can't even delete files from my external hard drive. please help me my macbook HD is almost full and I have to copy my images to the Toshiba HD

To delete files from your external HDD, attach it to your MBP and drag the unwanted files to trash and then empty trash.
Then you select the files that you want to transfer by 'drag and drop' to the external HDD and trash the files on your MBP.
    Ciao.

  • Hey Guys I Wanted To Know How Do I Change The Download/Install Location Of Apps I download From The Mac App Store Bac To The Dock Like In Snow Leopard?

So Every Time I Download From The Mac App Store (In Lion) It Always Pops Up And Downloads/Installs In The iOS Feature Thing, So How Do I Change That So It Doenloads/Installs Straight 2 The Dock Like In Snow Leopard?? lol
    Specs...
    Macbook Pro (Early 2008)
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB RAM (MAXED)

Actually it does because the Dock is Snow Leopard's program launcher. For Lion, LaunchPad is the program launcher, not the Dock. Don't like that? Here's where you complain. Otherwise, you asked and I answered.
