    because you do not have a 3rd generation device. The OS Version says so , otherwise you would be at 4.3.5 minimum and also Itunes is also always correct in determining if you have the latest OS ( if not it fetches the newest from Apple's Servers ) . And because a 2nd generation iPod stops at 4.2.1 you can't get the newest OS, because your device is old. Buy a new iPod , they have iOS5 preinstalled.

    Go to iTunes.com, then click on Download iTunes on the top right area, then on the next screen make sure it states iTunes 11.1 on the left side and email is not necessary then click on download now in the blue button. Issue should be resolved

  • 18.0.2 really current? Got msg to update to 18.0.2 but FF Desktop pg says I have the current version (18.0.1)

    Recently received the update dialog box saying "update to 18.0.2". Went to FF.COM and the desktop page (vs the Android/mobile) page says "congrats, your version is the latest" (or something similar). I'm running 18.0.1. So which is really the current version?
    I read some of the "get more info" stuff about 18.0.2 and it sounds like good fixes; but when I go to the support page I see a lot of users having problems after updating to 18.0.2. My 18.0.1 is working well and I wouldn't want to trade a stable installation for one that's buggy (and having the problems I'm reading others are having) -- yet I'd like to have the security improvements.
    So what's really current, and what's the consensus: is 18.0.2 just buggy or are the ones with problems isolated cases?
    (FYI, I have a mix of XP, Vista and Win7 PCs with 18.0.1 installed)

    Yes, Firefox 18.0.2 is the latest version and Firefox 19 will be released in a few weeks (around Feb 19), so you can update to that version or install the full version in case of problems.

    It seems like you may have missed that section of the article I provided, so I will go ahead and highlight it for you:
    OS X Lion or later
    You can use these steps with Contacts on OS X Mountain Lion or later or Address Book on OS X Lion. After each step, check to see if the issue still exists.
    Make sure iCloud Contacts is on
    Choose Apple () > System Preferences, click iCloud, and select Contacts. 
    See which version of OS X you're using
    Make sure that you're using OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later. Learn how to see which version of OS X you're using.
    Check your Internet connection
    Try to go to www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud contacts won't update in Contacts or Address Book. Get help with your Internet connection.
    Open a secure website to see if you can access ports 80 and 443. Safari requires access to port 443 to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Contacts servers.
    Check your account details
    Choose Apple () > System Preferences, and click iCloud. Make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
    Refresh Contacts or Address Book
    If recent changes don't appear in Contacts or Address Book, try to refresh by quitting and reopening the app.
    Check your settings
    Make sure that the contacts are syncing through iCloud and not through a third-party, such as Google or Yahoo. iCloud won't sync contacts that are associated with a different service.
    Open Contacts (or Address Book on OS X Lion).
    Click All [iCloud Account Name] in the left sidebar.
    Search for the contact that wasn't syncing properly.
    If the contact isn't visible, then the contact exists in a third-party account, not iCloud.
    You can import the contact from a third-party account into iCloud.
    If recent changes to contacts on OS X don't appear on your other devices and you're syncing contacts with multiple accounts on your device (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo), make sure that iCloud is your default account for Contacts:
    Open Contacts (or Address Book on OS X Lion).
    Choose Contacts > Preferences (or Address Book > Preferences on OS X Lion).
    On the General tab, make sure that your iCloud account is the default.
    After setting up iCloud Contacts, you might need to quit and reopen Contacts or Address Book on your Mac. Then make sure that you set up your account correctly in Contacts or Address Book:

    Upgrade only goes as far as 10.5.8 in 10.5, you need to Upgrade to 10.6, then Update to 10.6.8..

    Are you sure that Firefox gets the plugins from the ~/.mozilla/plugins directory and not from another location.
    Did you try to place the symlink in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ?

The iphoto was installed on my computer when I purchased it so I am unable to upgrade from the app store.  I have tried installing some upgrades but it tells me that I need Version 9.0.1 which I can not find the update for that version. I have just installed maverick and everything is working great.  My Mac is OSx version 10.9.3

    I installed a trial version Adobe Acrobat Pro from the Creative Cloud list on my Mac Pro 10.7.5. First, although I was supposed to have a 30 day free trial, it expired immediately. Worse, every time I try to open my former Adober Acrobat, I get prompted to buy a yearly subscription to Acrobat pro and cannot use my older version. I have tried various ways to uninstall the Acrobat Pro version and to get back to normal, with no success. Anyone out there to help or must I spend money on an international call to ask Adobe what to do? It seems that they have shut down their "chat" service. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.     I am intending to upgrade to photoshop CC from photoshop CS6, my concern is is my computer is 6 years old and probably I will not be able to upgrade to a later mac operating system as I have mac os 10.9, and I may not be able to upgrade to a future version of photoshop, will I be able to use the current version of photoshop CC with Mac OS 10.9 for the next 5 or so years on same mac?, I know I can do this with Photoshop CS6.

    There's no reason why you can't do both.  You will always have CS6 to fall back on if the need should ever arise, the same as most of the regular posters here.  But you could enjoy CC for as long as it suited you, and it has some very features and more are coming all the time.
    We've seen two nice updates to Photoshop CC in the eight months since the subscription model went live.  (Have I got that right?)  So we can expect three a year or more, and there were some killer new features in 14.2.  Heck, it would already break my heart if I had to go back to CS6.  In another four years...   It ain't gonna happen.
