How do I update Library Files/Folders
When I download music onto my hard drive then add the songs to the library through iTunes, how do I get the songs to sort themselves into proper folders by singer, and by albums on the hard drive of my computer. Instead of having them as individual songs and unorganized?
- Edit=>Preferences=>'Advanced/General' tab
- Make sure that both the 'Keep iTunes Music folder organized' and 'Copy files to Music folder when adding' are both 'checked'
If the downloaded files still do not organize correctly, then the ID3 tags may be incorrect. Edit them within iTunes and they will be organized (moved) on the PC correctly.

only my hotmail inbox appears in Mail. How do I get my file folders to come over?
It sounds as though you have set Mail up in POP mode. POP only sees and downloads from the server Inbox.
To see or download any other server folders you need to set it up in IMAP mode.
Good luck. -
How to Move iTunes Library FILE not the folder
The FileVault space recovery process mangled my email archives and iTunes library for the second time in two weeks. If it weren't company policy (to protect local copies of source code), I'd turn the **** thing off. As it is, I have to live with it, so I've created a non-encrypted mirror of Users named Files and have started moving all of the files that don't need encrypting there.
I've already moved my music and video files, but I'd like to move the .itl and .xml library files too. I don't want FileVault chewing them up again. All my searches online have turned up nothing, except for a brief mention on these forums that the file cannot be moved. I really hope that isn't true, because it's a really stupid design (just like FileVault has a really stupid design).
By the way, does anyone know how to get the Thunderbird and Firefox prefs.js files back??? I have my email archives organized across 100 folders, and I really don't want to add them manually.
**** you FileVault!!!I've moved the iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library.xml files to a shared drive on the network and created an alias in my ~/Music/iTunes folder. This allows me to use the same libray on the iBook connected to my stereo upstairs.

Hello... I was using FCPX with an external hard drive (A) with all "events" end "projects" folders.
Then, on a regular basis, I was copying hard drive (A) content to another hard drive (B) using LaCie SilverKeeper. All new or modified content in these folders was copied. With the new 10.1 version, no more folders but a "library" file which is not recognized by SilverKeeper.
So how to backup library files without starting a new copy each time ?Thank you for your input, nevertheless, I may have miss something but I am used to work with all my media on an external HD.
Then, on a regular basis, say each time I have an important editing step, I backup this external HD to another external HD.
With FCPX, I have chosen to integrate new media in the new library file. Consequently, these media files are not in folders, but inside the FCPX file.
The problem is that when I want to backup all this (including media files inside FCPX library) this library is not recognized by backup software. -
Create a new web application, how shall I update the file server.xml
Hi,
I will create a new web application, i.e named newApp. Then I create a file structure as follows:
- <server-root>/newApp
- <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF
- <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF/classes
Then I must tell the server that I have created a new web application. Then I must update my file server.xml, How shall I do this and where in the file shall I type in the new information?
I use windows XP Pro, and Tomcat 4.1.27.
My server.xml file looks like below:

How do I restore individual files/folders from Time Machine to a PC?
My Mac of six years have crashed and been sent to the apple hospital for surgery, but I had time machine backing up all my files. Yah! Now with the help of 'macdrive' I can see the files on my windows computer, but when I tried to restore any individual files or folders to the pc, nothing.
I would click on the files from my external drive and a box comes up for 'where do you want to copy selected files?'. Right-clicking only provide the 'copy', 'copy to', and 'create a shortup' options. Whichever options I try, no copies/restored files is created.
How do I restore the files (not the entire system, just pictures and documents) to a windows computer?
Help pleaseYou need to be more specific what types of files are you trying to restore. It sounds like you just need to learn how to use TM which is pretty darn easy. Here is one good article and you can always use Apple's find out how video on TM.

How do I update a file in an Applet's JAR file from the Applet code
Here's my problem.
My applet is using a serializable history data in which I am storing in the applet's JAR file. When I run the applet, I read the file with "getResourceAsStream()" and run my program with that hist data. When my applet is closed, I need to update this file from my Applet's code and I dumfounded about how to do that.
Is there any way to update a file in the Applet's JAR file through the Java Applet code? (i.e. OutputStream?).
Would appreciate any advice people have.Just place a copy of the file on the local hard disk and update that. When you start the Applet you try to read from the hard disk. If the file exists then no problem otherwise copy it from the jar to the hard disk.

Hello,
Someone please help me. What I am trying to do is load two .DLL files in my program. Program works fine when I
do the following way i.e. I have two .java files and in each I am loading one .DLL file. But I don't want to have
two .java files I want to load both the .DLL files in one program.
**************** Example.java **********
import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;
public class Example
public native int A(String in);
static
System.loadLibrary( "API2" );
public static void main( String args[])
Ex ex = new Ex();
int r;
r = ex.A("TEST");
public Example()
*****************Ex.java*****************
public class exsysml
public native int A(String in);
public exsysml()
System.loadLibrary("API3");
The above way works. But I need only one .java file to load both the .DLL files. i.e.
import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;
public class Example
public native int A(String in);
static
System.loadLibrary( "API2" );
System.loadLibrary( "API3" );
public static void main( String args[])
Example ex = new Example();
int r;
r = ex.A("TEST");
public Example()
but when I do this way it doesn't work and I get a UnSatisfiedLinkage Error at ex.A("TEST"). While doing the top way it works.
How can I fix this to just have one .java file and load both the library files as done in the bottom program but doing this program doesn't work. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!what I figured out so far is that we can only load one library file in a single class and define all the native methods present in that library in the class where we are loading it. Means we can't load multiple library files in a single class. It's just my thought else if someone provides a better solution. I may be wrong so that's why I need your help.

How to open a library file on an external hard drive
My old laptop died.
I have my old internal hard disk in an external hard drive enclosure. Now I want to open the home / library/ application support / mail file on the external drive and copy the emails from it to my new laptop. Option Go shows only the internal library file but it doesn't open the external one. An suggestions on how to do this. I am trying to do a relatively clean install so don't want to use the migration App.Use the Go to Folder command in Finder, View menu.
Also note that Mail is not in the Application Support folder, but straight in the Library.
The path to your external Mail folder will be in the form /Volumes/<Name of external drive>/Users/<username>/Library/Mail
If you didn't change the name of the old drive, it will be Macintosh HD, also.
I don't know what name it will use for the mount point in Volumes. You may be able to tell by going to Computer from the Go menu.
You can definitely tell by using this command in the Terminal (just copy the whole line and paste it into Terminal):
ls /Volumes.
Once you know what name it uses, you can fill in the placeholders in the path example above. Use that in the Go To Folder path field.
Note that you can use Go To Folder while in an Open File dialog, also. With the dialog open, type cmd-shift-g. -

How to put music library files onto new iPhone 6 with iTunes
I set up my new iPhone 6 on my Macbook Pro for backup to the cloud using wi fi. I also set it up as a phone, not as an ipod. But when I synced the phone, no music library files copied onto the phone, which has 128 gigs, only reference graphics showing an iCloud icon, so I have to play everything by streaming from a hotspot or using cellular data. How do I just put the music library on the phone?
Thanks! Fascinating, but playing the very same files for the first time through my car's stereo system, the volume required was much lower and the sound was much better. I think the old 4s must have been deteriorating, or the new 6 is far more powerful and better.

I have one library file that isn't updating. It was working yesterday and I made a change to one of the links and it has stopped updating that file completely. I'm not very experienced in Dreamweaver.
I've tried deleting the file out of the library and even putting the template one back in there with the and only changing a spelling and it will not update. How to move your library files from one internal hard drive to another
I have two internal hard drives on my computer, one 500GB SSD for games and other programs that require fast access, and one 2TB for more bulky items, like videos, music and back ups.
The problem is that my SSD is pretty much full because my iTunes library location defaults to the "my music" folder which is located on the SSD, I would like to move the location of the iTunes library files to my 2TB hard drive in order to free up some space on my SSD (about 100GB).
I have tried to set the destination of the library via the preferences in the extras tab but that just seems to copy the files rather than move them, so it still needs them on my solid state in order to play them.
Please if there is a solution to this problem could you tell me
CheersClose iTunes.
Move the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the current drive to it's new location.
While holding SHIFT launch iTunes.
Continue holding until iTunes prompts to create a new library or locate an existing library.
Select the option to locate and point iTunes to the new location of the iTunes folder. -
How to import java library file to forms 6i
Hi all,
Is it possible to import java library file to forms 6i. Please help me.The Java importer is introduced in 9i.
However, most java functionality is added to Forms in the client, not the server. In 6i you can add Java pluggable components to your forms. You need to make a Java Pluggable Component to do this. Stand-alone Java beans can only be called from Forms 9i on using the fbean package.
So it depends on what you want to do with the java whether it is possible to use it in 6i. -
How to correctly update .indd files with incopy through adobe cc
Hello,
We have a group of users in our company that only have incopy. This is done both for a control (no one changes layouts by accident) and for cost savings of not haveing the full suite for every user.
With this environment we have found that...
After any change to text via incopy, a person with adobe InDesign will need to open the file and update links so the .indd file will reflect the text changes.
This will need to happen after proofing or any other editorial changes along the way. This adds many steps to our workflow.
Ex:
Alyssa is editing a sustainability article with incopy (no indesign). She makes her edits and save the contents (copy fits, remove a punctuation etc). However, when viewing the .indd file in adobe CC, her changes are not reflected.
Bill (indesign user) had to open the file with InDesign, click update links (this is a popup box upon opening) and then save the file again, before the file would reflect the text changes.
Does anyone know of a way to get around this? It would be great if incopy could push the text changes to the .indd file without a seperate step.
Thank you,
AndyI'm a little confused. Are the InCopy users using InCopy to edit standalone files (they're opening ICML files)? Or are they opening up the INDD file (the layout) in order to edit the stories context of the design.
If the latter, then there's no need for the InCopy user to wait for an InDesign user to do something. As they make their edits in InCopy, the layout view in InCopy gives them a pixel-accurate preview of how their changes will appear in the final layout. If other InCopy users are editing different stories in the same publication (layout), any user can update to view their colleague's edits on a story-by-story basis, or all at once.
And when an InCopy user sits down to work and opens a layout from the server, InCopy automatically makes sure that they are seeing the current versions of all stories in the layout ... they don't get prompted to update the stories, it happens by default. Even if the InDesign user hasn't touched the file or updated the stories.
FWIW, most of my InCopy/InDesign clients use this layout method.
