How do I update my 6490m drivers to 11.7 or above (for BF3 :P)?

I've just got battlefield 3 but when I launch it it says that I have only got 11.1 driver installed for my 6490m GPU and that it recomends 11.7 and above. How do I download and install the driver? I would like to update the drivers because there is a bit of freeze in the game from time to time, and don't get me started with the multiplayer (although I think this is downl to the large usage of the servers as it is a new game.) I've downloaded and installed CCC from ATI's website if that helps.
thanks.
oh yeh, I'm running windows 7 32bit on bootcamp (that's what I want the drivers for, not OSX as I don't game or use CAD on that)

I found the solution.
There is a 100+MB file from ATI that will install the Catalyst software directly, or already uncompressed. Here is the link (used through www.my-config.com website and plugin required to detect videocard):

or download directly here:

  • How to correctly update video chip drivers

I am currently using Boot Camp with Windows 7 64 Bit on my MBP Early 2011. My question is how can you successfully update the video chip drivers when using windows 7? When I try to install drivers the AMD updater can not recognize my video card. But my games have made it clear that I am not running the most recent drivers

You realize this has been asked 100s of times, right?
Don't use Auto-detect. Download the driver. Unzip. Uninstall Apple gpu driver. Run Driver Sweeper 3.x maybe.
You may be able to install. If not, use Device Manager to update and find the driver you unzipped.
There are links or bookmarks to threads in my profile: bookmarks for AMD.

If you're running 10.5.8 then you have the latest drivers for Leopard. Apple provides drivers for the GPU, there are no standalone downloads. If Software Update says you have no updates, you're set.
    and BootCamp?
www.nvidia.com? But bear in mind that these drivers likely aren't tested under Bootcamp, so there is the possibility that you may have issues.

  • How best to update network adapater drivers

    I have a T61 running Windows XP SP3.
I want to update the drivers for my network adapters, both the Ethernet adapter [Intel(R) 82566MM Gigabit Network Connection] and the Wi-Fi adapter [Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG].
What is the best way to update the drivers; using the ”update driver” in the Device Manager of Windows XP, or using the ThinkVantage System Update? Or do I need to use both?
Obviously I’m not very knowledgeable about this subject so thanks in advance for any help on this.

It seems to me that updating my wi-fi adapter’s driver is an obvious thing to do in attempting to solve the problem. Is that not so?
That's one approach. One thing you could do from a wired Ethernet connection is to uninstall the WiFi driver in Device Manager and Access Connections (if you have it) in Control Panel, then run TVSU and let it download/install the current WiFi driver and AC versions. That would eliminate old drivers as a possible cause.
But it's also possible that there's something going on with the AirPort Express router. I'm not familiar with Apple products so I can't offer specific suggestions. One thing I would try is to temporarily turn off WiFi encryption at the router, then see if you can connect that way. Perhaps there's an issue with encryption, e.g. an incompatibility in the type and key length between the router and your T61.

  • How to set Updates with 11.3 when using Apple Remote Desktop for installation?

So for all pre-11.3 versions of Flash Player on OSX, I have just pulled out the "Adobe Flash Player.pkg" installer package from the installer .dmg and used Apple Remote Desktop to deploy Flash to the Macs I manage.
However, when doing that with Flash 11.3, this leaves the "Updates" setting in the Flash Player System Preference set to "Notify me to install updates".
I'd like to push something that would set this to "Allow Adobe to install updates".
Is there a way to modify the .pkg installer to have the System Preference set to that value (or push/copy some other .plist file to the clients to have that setting enabled?)
    Thanks!

I poked around a bit and the file seems to be:
    /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/mms.cfg
I'd like to get some confirmation from Adobe that this is the correct file to push, though (it seems like it as it only contains this):
    AutoUpdateDisable=0
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1

  • How to update Boot Camp drivers when you already install Boot Camp?

The last time i install Windows 7 (Boot Camp) and drivers on my Mac was a bit long time ago, and i realise that there is some new drivers available for mine, so how can i update my Boot Camp drivers, please help me, and thanks!!!

I have MacBook Pro Retina w/Lion (of course), installed Win 7 Pro 64-bit, using Boot Camp procedures and files that were issued June 14.  My BootCamp Assistant says it's 4.0.4.
My question is:  how do I know when the Windows Support files (drivers) are updated by Apple?  I would have expected an update by now, but I just went into Boot Camp Assistant on Lion, re-downloaded the drivers, and I *think* they are all dated June 14th still.  (looked in WindowsSupport folder which is where it said it downloaded them)
There doesn't seem to be a reasonable way to get notified if there are new drivers or not.
My expectation was that I could run *something* either on the Windows or OS X side, and it would *tell me* that drivers needed updating, or at least say "you are running version X".
It can't be that I have to re-download the drivers and check the dates on all the files every time I'm curious if there's updates available.  Can it?
The files seem to be on some mysterious Apple server and the only thing I can do to that server is ask to download the support files.  No query, no "is an update available", ... ???
It's not even clear to me that the Windows Support files have a version number.

  • How do I update my Nvidia graphics drivers on Bootcamp using Windows 8.1

    Hey all,
I have been running bootcamp with my MacBook Pro with retina display, mid 2013 model for quite some time, but only recently did the windows 8.1 update from windows 8. I have been prompted by some games, namely Fifa 15, to update to the latest Nvidia graphics driver. Now, i know that just downloading the driver from the website is bad as bootcamp needs to run on the drivers anyway, so how do I update these drivers? and what is the latest set of apple support drivers for my model, because I keep seeing different ones everywhere. also i would rather not wait for an update on the part of apple support drivers.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks,
    Sam

Please see Huge lag in games on bootcamp as a reference. The linked thread is for a GT750m.
Since there are no mid-2013 Retina models (as per Apple - Support - Technical Specifications), assuming this is your Mac - MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) - Technical Specifications - the same should work for you.

  • Can someone tell me how to update the video drivers on my laptop?

one of the games I play online claims my video drivers are out of date, how do I update them without a huge fight?

Someone could give you better and more exact information but you didn't include the model number of your computer. But I can give you a pretty generic answer. At the top of this webpage you should see Product Support. Click on Laptops and then select which model of Toshiba computer you own, ie Satellite, Tecra, etc. Finally type in the model number of your computer. Select the exact model number and click the red Go button to the right. Click the Downloads tab and look thru the different drivers for this computer. Make sure that the new video driver is newer and has a higher version number than your current video driver. If it does, click the Download button, click the Run button and let it do the installation. Afterwards, reboot the computer so that the latest drivers are fully installed. Try again with that game.

  • How do I update Nvidia 9400M GeForce drivers on MacBook late 2009?

How do I update Nvidia 9400M GeForce drivers on MacBook late 2009?
I've got a huge fps drop problem on my mac, and i've called apple support, they told me to update Nvidia Graphics Card or something. How do i do this?

Nope, I'll do that, but since I've seen you here before, can I ask you something regarding my HD?
I've been transferring about 1.6 GB from my USB stick, and when it is going on with the transfer, my computer just freezes, i can move the mouse but not click anywhere. then after some time i can click again, but then it freezes again. And it takes like 10 times longer to transfer.
And also, would it work to transfer a windows xp.iso to my usb stick, and then install windows using boot camp?
And also, would it work if I purchase 4GB or 2GB + 4GB (6GB) RAM to my Macbook unibody late 2009?
And also, would it work if i purchased RAM memory originally from a macbook Pro?

  • HT1338 built in camera has stopped working, how can I update or reinstall the drivers

Built in camera has stopped working, how can I reinstall the respective drivers?

Here are my best suggestions for your camera problem, Stephen:
    •  If you have not already done so, shut down Mac, restart,
and try again.  If the camera still does not work, continue.
    • Try ALL relevant suggestions from Apple's Troubleshooting
       article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
(Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD."  Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
If you need to use the "reset" suggestion, use the correct reset for your Mac.
    • Use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
download and apply the latest Combo Update.  For your Mac OS,
the current version is at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1640
    • Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
       that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera.
    • If nothing else resolves your problem, yours is likely a hardware issue.
Unless you have a current backup, make one now.
Then use the final "Troubleshooting" suggestion:
"... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."
