How do I update my I pod touch 4th generation on
The new verstion of iTunes ?

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices is listed.

how do you sync only selected songs to your ipod using the new version of itunes?

Same way you did with the previous versions of iTunes.
To view the iPod in iTunes, Ctrl S to show the sidebar.
Create a playlist, add songs and sync that playlist.
Or drag songs to the iPod in iTunes.

  • Can I update Ipod Touch 4th generation  to the New Itunes?

    Hi,
I am trying to put the new Itunes on my Ipod but the more I read, the more I think I may not be able to
based on it running IOS 6 and unable to run IOS 7.  Basically my main complaint with the version
of Itunes on my Ipod presently is the user interface, for as many of you know it has a bit of an issue
sorting artists albums chronologically without putting in the year of the recording in manually.  The new
version of Itunes seems to do this automatically based on what I am seeing on my laptop and Iphone
which are both running it.  But unfortunately my Ipod is stuck with the old Itunes app.  Or is it?  There
is obviously no update waiting for me in Itunes so please don't tell me to do that.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Tom

    Hi Ana,
Thanks for the help.  I probably should have been a bit more detailed in my post.  I would like
the Itunes app that is on my Iphone 5s now to be also available to me on my Ipod 4th generation.
I only included the info on the new Itunes on my laptop as it seems to be the same as my Iphone
in that it now (not previous to this new version) sorts albums chronologically automatically.
It also displays the year of the album in the listings which is also new and appreciated.  Now
if I could just get this on my Ipod....

  • How do I update my iMac 7.1 software to accept the latest version of iTunes and hence talk to my iPad3?

I have an iMac 7.1 purchased in 2007 which currently has OS X 10.5.8. Until 6 months ago it happily synched with my iPad3. Now it doesnt because I do not have the latest version of iTunes and that will not download because it is not supported by the OS which says there are no software updates. Any ideas of what I can do.

  • How can I get my I pod touch 4th generation unlocked?

So I have forgottenn my i pod pasword and now it says, ' connect to itunes' that didnt work I plugged it into my laptop nothing happened. If i take it to the apple store will all my photos be erased thats the main reason why I want it unlocked.

Yes, the iPod will have to be erased to regain use of your iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • How do I reset my errors when trying to sync in the new version of iTunes?

    Hey everyone,
I experienced an error a while ago when syncing my ipod to my laptop - it would say "100 items cannot be synced, refer to itunes for further info" - I figured out I could reset my warning messages by clicking on the phone symbol ... but guess what - the ( horrible ) new version of itunes, I can't find it anywhere.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

When they changed Oracle versions, did you have to create a new data source in ColdFusion Administrator?  If so, there is a setting under "Advanced Settings" to enable CLOB support, and that probably didn't get turned on.

I would contact Apple under your warranty.  I doubt you received a new iPod since Apple's policy is to give you a refurbished iPod.

  • Updateing BBC I-Player on I-Pod Touch 4th Generation which has ios6

Being requested to update BBC I-Player on my I-Pod Touch 4th Generation which only has IOS6. Can I do this or will it delete it as assume it`s now updating on IOS7.
    Many thanks.

If the newer version requires iOS 7 then you cannot update the app, but the old version will be retained.

  • I updated my iPod touch 4th generation from the latest iOS 4 update (i think maybe iOS 4.3.5 or something like that) to iOS 5.1.1 and my Photos, Videos, contacts, music, App data, etc. was deleted. How can I all the data back?

I updated my iPod touch 4th generation from the latest iOS 4 update (i think maybe iOS 4.3.5 or something like that) to iOS 5.1.1. I updated to iOS 5.1.1 on a Windows XP Home Edition with the Service Pack 3 installed on the Windows XP (which I believe is the latest version). After updating, I unplugged my iPod from the computer. I saw that all my photos and videos were on my iPod, but there were no apps. A window popped up and told me to enter a passcode for my iPod. I entered a passcode. I then locked my iPod and entered what I thought to be the correct passcode, but my iPod remained unlocked. Desperate, I tried many passcodes with failure. After a while, my iPod became disabled for a long time. I decided to reset my iPod. After I reseted it, I chose to reset from my earlier back up. After reseting, my computer loaded on all my apps. But, when I started using my iPod, I realized all my photos, videos, music, app data (like game saves and high scores), etc. were gone! I have no idea what to do and I am very stressed about this! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET ALL MY STUFF BACK!!!!!!

Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.
