How do I update my Photoshop CS5? I can't use the automatic update in the program as it says there are no new updates.
I have also gone to adobe and tried to download the latest update there, but when I load the zip file, and try to open the .exe, it just gives me an "error loading updater workflow". Help. I would like to be able to eventually use my new camera in photoshop and lightroom.
Here is the download link for Adobe Camera Raw 6.7 which is the latest for Photoshop CS5 Windows.
Also look at Help > About Photoshop to see if it is 12.0.0 or 12.0.4

Before you run the installer, make sure you exit Photoshop and Bridge, and be sure Bridge in not running in your system tray.

I've done the software update. It restarted and even said it was reinstalling Java but when I tried to load it on the browser again, I got the "Please Update Java" message. I went to the Apple website to manually download Java for OS X Lion 2012-002 but it says that a newer version is already installed on my Mac.
Any help would be appreciated. I dont even know how to uninstall Java and reinstall the 2012-002 version.How do I test whether Java is working on my computer?

I need help updating my OS from the 10.5.8. It is causing a variety of problems in turn.
10.6 is the next OSX. It is not just an update of 10.5.
Call 1-800-MY-APPLE to order a DVD: $19 for single user license disk, $29 for s 5-user license disk. With Amazon charging much more than $19 for a songle disk license, I purchased a 5-user disk in case I need it and ONLY Amaazon is left. -

I imported about 300 RAW images yesterday and worked with them for about an hour. iPhoto locked up on me and I rebooted. After I did the event icon for that event is now gray and it says there are no photos. I know the photos are there. Any idea how I can recover them?
a best practice to is to never have any computer program (including iPhoto) delete the photos from the card but to import the photos and keep them and then after at least one successful backup cycle has completed and then reformat the card -- I use three very large (32 GB) cards in rotation so I do not reformat for typically a year or more giving me one more long term backup of my photos
Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

ok so I have not updated my computer in a long time and I go to the apple icon in the upper left hand corner of my computer and click on it and then click on softwear updates and it runs and says there are no updates.
You have to buy the next OS X version. Free updates are only available for the version you have. Since you're posting here, assume you want to upgrade to at least OS X 10.6? Or further?
Call the Apple online store, which in the US is at 800-MY-APPLE, or you can also order online from them too. OS X 10.6 is only available on DVD, not download. Get it, install, do Software Updates until no more are available. Done. You probably already have at least 1GB of memory, and some spare disk space to install it. Of course, backup first.
If you want to upgrade to OS X 10.8, see these requirements to see if your system is able to. Note the minimum memory is 2GB, however, 4GB is recommended. Assuming your system can run Mountain Lion, you can upgrade directly from OS X 10.6 to OS X 10.8. You don't need to upgrade to OS X 10.7 as an interim step. OS X 10.8 is downloadable from the App store.
If you want to upgrade to OS X 10.7, after you upgrade to OS X 10.6, call the online Apple store again to purchase a download code, then download from the App store. -
When I go to have my mac update software it is now having a box that says there is an update with a smaller box over it that says no up date available. You cannot get to the update to click on it to proceed. Why is it doing this and how can I get it to stop?
If you can't install on top of the current installation then you need to delete or rename the current Firefox program folder to do a clean install.
It is possible that your security software is using or locking files, so you can try to temporarily disable that software during the installation. -

If you must attempt to use Fx3.6 have you tried zooming the page or trying to work out if there are any keyboard shortcuts available for the actions. You should contact your email provider's support site for help

10.5.8 is the final version of Leopard. After that you need a paid-for upgrade to Snow Leopard - if your Mac can run it:

i need to use imovie for a project and i tried to open it but it says i need version 7.6.0 or later, so i went to software updates and there are no updates for my computer.

If it's an iPhone 4S or earlier, click here.
If it's an iPhone 5, you need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and that requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB RAM.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard is a paid upgrade, so that's why you don't see it in Software Update.
First, check if your computer is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 If it's compatible, make a backup of your files and buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Then, insert the DVD and upgrade. After upgrading, open > Software Update to update to Mac OS X 10.6.8 -

Do you have a 3rd generation iPod touch (no camera)? iOS 5.1.1 is the latest version for that model.

Trying to download the new itunes but it tells me there are "No software updates"
I am attempting to download iOs6 for my iphone, and it is prompting me to first download itunes 10.6.3. However, when I click "download itunes" I am brought to the software updates window, and am prompted that there are no new updates for my computer! I have tried to do this from both the apple drop down and itunes. When I attempt to download iOs6 on my phone, I am not connected to a suitable wireless connection (yay college campuses) so I cannot do it that way either. Anyone have a solution for downloading itunes? I have restarted my computer multiple times! Thanks!
It go thru the whole install and bails at the end with this error:

How can I get updates for Photoshop CS5 to download to my new Mac book pro where CS5 is already installed from my original disk? I have tried many times over 2 days. The Adobe auto updater is highly unreliable.
You need to look for and download the update yourself and then manually apply it as per the detailed instructions on the download page:
