I have the latest version of CC, and the PMS color swatches I'm trying to see on my computer are not there (They are in the printed version of the PMS Color Bridge book). There's a lot missing. For example PMS 2002 C.

What you have to first do is update your old phone using iTunes. Once done: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You should now be able to use that backup.

From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Although there is no formal list of OSX error code some of the old codes still apply to OSX .)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
Try quitting iTunes, then deleting the .xml (not .itl !) version of the library file in the iTunes folder (iTunes will generate a new one).

I thing yu really have a 2G iod. Those can only to to 4.2.1. If yours is a 8 or 16 GB one it is a 2G iPod. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods. A 32 GB one could be either. To identify your iPod:

Even with that link though, I was still left puzzled as it didn't give multiple versions, just a 32 bit and 64 bit version.
I tried the 64 bit and it didn't work, so I assumed that was what had already been installed in the update.
Now installed the 32 bit version, and fingers crossed. At least it starts up now!

Yes, I know... I discovered now that I have saved the photos I wanted from it long time ago (for the same reasons, i didn't wanted to lose them). So I'm kind of saved.
