How do I update my FaceTime for Mac software?

I haven't used FaceTime on my Mac with FaceTime on my iPad in a while. Now I find that the connection fails immediately every time.
The Mac is running 10.6.8, which per a document Apple has been circulating addressing this problem, suffices.
However, per the same document, the FaceTime on the Mac is not up to par. It is 1.0.2 rather than 1.0.5.
My question is, how do I update the FaceTime software? I already have the feature that lets me know when software needs updating and it hasn't come up. I also tried running that manually, but nothing came up. I also see no way to update the software from within FaceTime.
Could this also mean that the FaceTime software on my iPad is out-of-date? I don't even know where to find what version it is running...please let me know. Also, my iPad is running iOS 7.1.2, which I believe would suffice.

I'm suspecting he tried to download the file in the OSX store as I did. When I tried it, it wouldn't let me download it as I currently have it installed from a non-app store location and it won't let me download it. I presume I have to delete my current copy before downloading it.
Do you know if it works as promised?

am trying to help a buddy out and am having a lil trouble. The version on his ipod nano 5th gen says its 1.0.2. Now i updated to the latest version of itunes and i thought that would update it to the latest software but its saying its the same. BTW, don't give up. You might have success downloading it in a day or two. The download speed today and tomorrow will be slow, as the servers will be choked with everyone trying to update Lion at the same time.
Try again once the rush is over; you should be able to download the whole thing in an hour then.

How do I update my iMac 7.1 software to accept the latest version of iTunes and hence talk to my iPad3?

I have an iMac 7.1 purchased in 2007 which currently has OS X 10.5.8. Until 6 months ago it happily synched with my iPad3. Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:

But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. Hi, I have a new Iphone and I wanted to add some applications from apple store.
Unfortunately, I had a message saying that I was using app store on a new device (true) and they needed to check some security thing from my visa card. Unfortunately, I had a new card and do not have the previous one anylonger (the previous one expires in 1 year but had to be cancelled).
Therefore I am blocked and cannot get into my account.
How can I update my bank account and get into the apple store again ?
