  • How do I know which version of Boot Camp Windows software to download

I am trying to download the correct Windows utilities to install into a Win 7 - 32 bit installation on my mid-2010 Mac Mini. I am running MacOS 10.8.4. I cannot get the auto download feature in boot camp to work so I am trying to download the software manually. The problem is that there are 4 or 5 different Version 4 downloads. I have tried two and both times when I tried to install it in Windows it told me I had an incompatible installer program. I have wasted way too much time on this already and am really ready for some expert advice. For that matter I would also be interested in finding out why I keep getting a network error evertime I try to download it through boot camp.
    Thanks,
    Rick

How do I update iPad version 4 to the latest software.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • HT4623 I have an orginal iPad and there is "sofeware update" button in the general menu as shown above, how do I update from version 4.3.3

I have an orginal iPad and there is no "sofeware update" button in the general menu as shown above, how do I update from version 4.3.3?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • HT1711 How do I update new versions of Apps using the new iTunes?

Good day all. I am having problems downloading updated versions of some Apps using the new iTunes. How do I update new versions of Apps using the new iTunes?

You can go back to the old view with the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (if you are on windows then alt-v should show the View drop-down menu) - which is what I'm currently doing as I'm familiar with that way.
Or, on the new view you can click on the library type at the top left and select Apps and then Check For Updates at the bottom right of the screen. When you've downloaded the updates to your computer, click on Library top right to go back to your library view from the store, then select the iPad (top right) and Sync at the bottom right should then copy the updates to your iPad.

  • How do I install Windows XP with boot camp assistant, on my IMac?

How do I install Windows XP with boot camp assistant, on my IMac?

    Lion cannot BootCamp XP.
You can install XP under virtual machine software (Parallels, VM Fusion, VirtualBox).
And Windows 7 Pro has XP mode.  XP will requires probably days of pathing after install and will be completely unsupported by MS within 1 year, but Windows 7 Pro still has great support from MS.

You can't. Only Windows 7 is supported in that configuration.

  • How to partition in order to run Boot Camp

I have an iMac 9.1 Intel Core 2 Duo running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I have also downloaded the correct version of Boot Camp and saved to an external USB formatted for MS-DOS (FAT32).
I am running Boot Camp Assistant. Problem is when I get to the option where I am to download the software to install the Boot Camp drivers (I select "Download the Windows support software for this Mac" because I do not have the Mac OS X installation disc that came with my iMac), it tells me the following:
"The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."

It is not giving you that message because you do not have the original start up disc for your Mac.  It is giving you that message because you have more than one partition on the boot drive in your Mac.  The way that BootCamp works is that it creates the required partitions on your Mac boot drive.  Due to limitations of Windows, you can only have up to 4 primary partitions on your drive, and the Boot Camp installation process wants to use at least 3 of those.  If you already have more than one partition on the drive, they can't guarantee that you will be able to access all your partitions properly, so it tells you that you need to re-create a single partition on your boot drive.
If you have a good system clone, you should still be able to use the Disk Utility to restore the drive back to a single partition.  Doing this could cause corruption if not done properly, that is why I suggest having a good clone before you try.

I have a MacBook (mid 2009) running 10.8.3 and need to install Windows, at least XP, to run some software for work. What version of Boot Camp will work and where do I get a licensed copy of XP or Windows 7

The version of Boot Camp on your Mac will work, you must buy a copy of Windows 7 or 8 (not XP)
Windows drivers can be downloaded from here.

  • How to install Windows on MAC? (Can't see the check box "Install or remove Windows 7 or later version" on Boot Camp Assistant)

I want to install Windows 7 on my MBP mid 2012 but in Boot Camp does not appear the check box: "Install or remove Windows 7 or later version". I continued with making the USB bootable with Windows 7 but then when I restart and boot with the USB I still can't install Windows because then I receive an error: ""Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of GPT partition style."
From OS with Boot Camp I didn't manage to make a partition for Windows instead I made one with Disk Utility (formated FAT).
After booting from USB that partition was also formated into NTFS necessary for Windows. Still the same error.
Any idea how to install Windows on my MAC?

My Windows copy is a X64.

  • How do I restore Windows 7 in Boot Camp after the Lion Update?

I was hoping my Lion update would be as smooth as other users' - unfortunately, it has messed up Boot Camp. The partition is now "Lion Recovery HD". I would like to know:

how to go about recovering my original partition (I did a backup of the partition prior to the Lion Update)
if my Windows 7 is an upgrade disk, will I need to install Vista first?

  • How to update firmware with a boot camp'd macbook?

this is pretty frustrating..... there seems to be no way to update the firmware on a macbook that has had xp/vista installed. the disk is no longer a GUID type, it's an MBR disk now, and the EFI partition is gone. i could recreate the EFI partition but that wouldn't help at all with the GUID problem.
i installed mac os x onto a clean external usb drive, which is now a GUID disk with the right file system and so on... it doesn't have an EFI partition, which i would have thought the mac os x installer would have made. the firmware updater has the big ! on the disk and says it doesn't meet the requirements.
any ideas here? will the firmware update simply not run from an external drive? if so, how on earth is someone supposed to ever update their firmware if they use boot camp?

When you create GPT using Disk Utility on your USB/FW it will have EFI and GUID, but you won't see them until back in Windows.
And yes, you should be able to run firmware updates off USB drive with OS X. Should. But that doesn't always mean will/can or that it was even tested in that configuration
Boot Camp is for GPT with an MBR table to trick or allow Windows to install. If you formatted a drive internal as MBR you didn't use BC or at least not need to.

  • Can Windows 7 be installed using the latest version of boot camp on 3TB fusion iMac drive?

I have tried unsuccessfully several times to install an .ISO version of 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 on my late 2012 iMac, equipped with a 3TB fusion drive. My proposed Windows partition, set up under boot camp assistant from the utility folder, is well under the 2.2TB size limit. I have carefully followed all the prescribed steps using the latest available software mounted on a FAT USB thumb drive.
The install fails, however. early on when Windows fails to recognize the requested partition situated in the fourth slot. I get an error message that the partition can't be found. ("Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition.") I have picked the partition labled "BOOTCAMP."
After booting back on the Apple side, the disk utility shows the partition as being there formatted as a FAT install.
Apple has an update release with the 10.8.3 version of OS X that says this bug has been addressed and should now work.
I would greatly appreciate some help.
