How do I update to Photoshop 2014.2?

I have a subscription to the cloud and have installed both Photoshop CC and Photoshop 2014. I am very interested in updating to Photoshop 2014.2, as it contains features I would find very helpful. Unfortunately I can't figure out how! According to my CC App manager, my 2014 version is "up to date." But when I open the application the version is still the 2014.0.0 release, which does not contain the updated features. Help!

Make sure your updates are not disabled, If so remove the files which suppress updates as mentioned in the link.

I'm a God-gifted artist but only started using Photoshop CC, then updated to 2014--which, again, I like even better--when I began my monthly membership January or February 2014, although I had paid version 2002 and updated to paid version 2004 (ownership, not paid subscription like now). I've learned so much, including transforming, moving, stretching, with layers--all in the painting area with my illustrations--a little touch ups with photography. Major Problem updating to Photoshop 2014 from Photoshop CC and Opening Lightroom

Updated from Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 to Photoshop 2014 and Lightroom 5.5. Now Cannot install and run Extension manager and extentions in Photoshop 2014 but continue to work in Photoshop CC. Lightroom 5.5 refuses to open but Lightroom 4.2 continues to function sort of.
Takes two double clicks to open Photoshop CC!
Been on to Adobe support team twice. Uninstalled Photoshop 2014 and Lightroom. Used CC app to update to Photoshop 2014 but now exactly the same problems exist as before

Roger, it seems you are facing 2 separate issues, one with not being able to launch Lr 5.5 and other with not being able work with extensions in PS CC 2014.
So, here is what i would suggest:
For the Lightroom launch issue, follow the solutions mentioned under Lightroom does not launch or get error: "Develop module is disabled" after 5.5 update
And for the Extensions not available in PS CC 2014, check this out. Extensions and Extension Manager not available in Photoshop CC 2014

What OS do you have? You say you have explained what you had (computer/opsys) but I honestly don't see it here. If you had mentioned that my advice would have been different; I believe you can only upgrade as far as Camera Raw 8.3 on an older Windows system. There is more information here (look specifically for the "Revert to 8.3 ..." titles).

What you've done/written in your last post confuses things further, unfortunately. Photoshop 13.1 is strictly a Creative Cloud version. The highest you can go is Photoshop CS6 13.0.1.3 with perpetual license.
And as far as I can recall, that version can work on Windows back to XP:

I don't think you're out of luck, but you seem to be leaping into doing things without having the full story, and are jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly.
Here's what I suggest you try:
1. Remove Photoshop entirely with the Creative Suite Removal Tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
2. Install Photoshop CS6 from your original media or from here:
Download CS6 products
3. Update the application using its own Help - Updates process. That really should get you the latest Camera Raw version that will work. If that does not bring you a Camera Raw that works with your Nikon, use the "Revert to 8.3" instructions above.

CC 2014 is not an update to CC. It is a separate install. Simply go into your Creative Cloud software and download the CC 2014 version.

When I try to edit a lightroom file in PhotoshopCC I get a message This version of lightroom may requiire the photoshop camera Raw plugin version 8.6 for full compatibility. Please update using Photoshop help menu.
When I use photoshop help and click on check for updates it says all apps are up to date. I know my PhotoshopCC version is out of date as is my camera raw version. How could I update from photoshop cs6 standard to photoshop cs6 extended?

CS6 cannot be upgraded. If you join the Creative Cloud and download PhotoshopCC2014 you get it with the 3D features.

How do I Update Lightroom/Photoshop CC?

I have downloaded the latest update but am confused as how to install and would appreciate simple instructions! The notice I am getting reads: “To update to the latest version of Lightroom for use with your Creative Cloud membership, please quit Lightroom, launch the Creative Cloud app, and click the ‘install’ button next to Lightroom CC (2015).”

The general assumption is that Apple no longer has OS 10.5 install disks. However, some people in the US have been able to get a copy by phoning the US Store at 1-800-MY-APPLE and asking for an operating system specialist, than asking for OS 10.5 install disks. Not a "sure thing" and the last ASC report of someone doing this that I've see was about 16 month ago. Still, it costs nothing to hear the word, "no," but you might get lucky.
Otherwise you are thrown into a miasma of confusing third-party offerings. Legitimate copies of old Mac OS software, especially 10.4 and 10.5 are in high demand and, as such, attract the scammers and the scalpers. I have seen legit copies of 10.5 offered for more than the market value of a used G5 iMac. Not worth it.
Try auction sites or Amazom but remember there are NO SAFE, LEGAL downloads of any Mac OS software. Some people will sell you a download license that doesn't exist. Another resource is a Mac Users group. Find one in your ara with this link:

I have previously used both Adobe Photoshop elements 9 and Adobe Premiere elements 9 on my old computer with Windows XP operating system without problems. Now I have a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit operating system. I have installed both programs but when I try to update them I get a message saying "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily or the internet or firewall setting may be incorrect. Please try again later." I have tried numerous times with the same result. I have tried uninstalling both programs and re-installing but still get the same message. What do I have to do to be able to update these programs so I can get on and use them? The information with the programs says they both work on both Windows XP and 7.

I am trying to install Photoshop cs5 on my new computer. it installs but when I try to update it, it fails and says "This serial number is not for a qualifying product". I had cs4 and have it installed too.

You'll need to contact Customer Care on serial number issues. If it all checks out, they will just assign you one that works.

This is a user to user support forum and while Adobe Staff does check in, users can't do anything about serial numbers or activation.

If you are not up to date try these one at a time
Restarting the computer.
Signing out and back into the Creative Cloud Desktop Manager.
Reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop Manager
