How to silent Upgrade Adobe Reader from 10.1.4 to 10.1.8?

my problem is that i have 10.1.4 and I want 10.1.8.

Acrobat (Formula = Base release + latest quarterly + latest out of cycle patch)
Acceptable: 10.0.0 > 10.1.8 (Q)
Acceptable: 10.0.0 > 10.1.5 (Q) > 10.1.6 (OOC)
Acceptable: 10.0.0 > 10.0.1 (Q) > 10.0.3 (OOC)
Unacceptable: 10.0.0 > 10.1.0 (Q) > 10.1.8 (Q) <<<<<<<<<<
It will only work if I uninstall 10.1.4 first before I can install 10.1.8.
Now to uninstall 10.1.4 i need the GUID found here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Installer
How do I have to do write my script, so it will identify the GUID of any newer version of the Reader?

- Adobe Reader 11.0.01 update - Multilingual (MUI) installer 10.5 MB 1/8/2013
Copy these files to the same location.
Open the 'AcroRead.msi' in Adobe Customization Wizard XI.
Adobe Customization Wizard XI download.
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/11.x/11.0.00/misc/CustWiz110 00_en_US.exe
Make any changes necessary for your environment.
Such as Language, Silent, accept EULA, supress reboot, disable product updates, etc...
Once all changes are complete, go to 'Transform' and then 'Generate Transform'
Save this file as 'AcroRead.mst' in the same directory.
Go to file and 'Save Package' to save the MSI.
On your local computer, launch this command to encapsulate the .msp update into the .msi installer from a DOS command prompt :
msiexec /a AcroRead.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp
Copy the folder in a share and configure GPO using the msi package and mst file -

How to delete old Adobe reader plugin from Safari?
Hi,
I can no longer view pdfs within Safari.
I deleted Adobe reader 7.0 and installed 11. Now Safari does not open embedded pdf's anymore. I suspect Safari is looking for reader 7.0. I think so, because in Safari>prefs>security>Internetplugins there is a list where both versions of reader are visible, the old version seems to be the active one.
I probably better had not deleted Reader 7.0 by hand...

In Finder > Preferences > Sidebar, under DEVICES, check the top box which will be your assigned computer name. This will make it available to you in an open Finder window.
Open a new Finder window, scroll the left panel down until you see the DEVICES section, and single-click on the name of your computer. The contents of the main Finder window will change and you will see a network globe, and for our focus, a silver icon of a disk drive with your boot drive name — probably Macintosh HD.
Double-click Macintosh HD. Double-click Library. Scroll down until you see Internet Plug-Ins, and double-click that folder. Holding your shift-key down, select the following icons:
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Now, with both icons selected, right-click to bring up the contextual menu and choose Copy 2 Items. Then, click once on your desktop, press and hold the option key with right-click. This time, you will see Move 2 Items Here. Select this and the plug-ins will be moved to your Desktop.
You now have a choice of default Safari PDF viewing, or if you prefer the Adobe PDF plug-ins, reinstall Adobe Reader 11.0.04 (as of this post date) to reinstate the Acrobat PDF browser plug-ins. Once this is working, drag the Adobe plug-ins on your Desktop to the trash. -
How do I download Adobe Reader 9 in Firefox? Their instructions say to begin by clicking on the 'Edit Options' button on the yellow bar at the top. I have no such bar or button on my Firefox start page.

After updated Adobe reader X version Outlook 2010 PDF previewer is not working. How can solve this problem.
Firstly, please kindly check if the PDF Preview Handler function has been disabled.
1. Launch Outlook.exe, go to File > Option > Trust Center > Trust Center settings > Attachment Handling
1. Uncheck the box "Turn off Attachment Preview"
2. Click option "attachment and Document Previewers" and check the box "PDF Preview Handler"
Secondly, you may reinstall the Adobe PDF reader to see the result. Feel free to post back.

I must develop a form that can handle word document, it must read/write/update a DOCUMENT that must be stored in database for example in a BLOB field. Can someone tell me how i can do it? Thanks
