How do I upgrade iPad iOS

How do u upgrade iPad operating system to iOS 6
I am using ios4 now. When I go to systems then to general, there is no button for software update

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you are on iOS 4 as your tagline suggests then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

Your iPad will be updated to iOS 6.0.1 (which is the only version that is 'signed' by Apple), so you will lose the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change.

How do I upgrade from ios 5 to ios 7 on my ipad?

    Hi,
If you have an original iPad then iOS 5.1.1 is the limit due to it not having enough RAM (Memory). All others should get iOS 7.0.3.
This is accessible in Settings -> General -> Software Update.
    Hope this helps!

You do not have iOS 5 on your iPad so you have to update by using a computer via the latest version of iTunes. You can connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under the devices heading. Click on the Summary Tab on the right. Click on Check for Update.
After you update to iOS 5 or later, you will have Software Update in you settings and can update via WiFi OTA. If you have the original iPad - you can only upgrade to iOS 5.1.1.

  • How DO i upgrade to iOS ?

How DO i upgrade to iOS.

Update it as described in this article; a device running an iOS version prior to 5.0 can only be updated from iTunes on a computer, and if possible, the one it normally syncs with. It will be updated to the newest iOS release supported by the device’s hardware, which is iOS 7.0.4 for devices with at least 512MB of RAM.
The maximum iOS version for the third generation iPod touch and original iPad is 5.1.1.

How do I upgrade to iOS 5 when there is no software update handle in the settings?

You update via your computer's iTunes, the Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11).
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • HT5704 I have a iphone 3G. How do I upgrade the IOS . My email no longer works and I get a message to upgrade my IO

How do I upgrade the IOS in my 3G iphone using the usb cable hooked to my computer ?

To view the version, use Settings > General > About and look down the list of details shown there; that will usually display the software version.
iOS 4.3.1 is the last version of iOS for the iPhone 3G.
To upgrade iOS (if you're not already running 4.3.1), connect your iPhone to your Mac or Windows system via the cable, launch iTunes if necessary, and follow the instructions that should appear.
If you are already running iOS 4.3.1, there is no further upgrade.
What tool or application or support forum or message is presenting the message about your mail and the upgrade?
