How do i upgrade my tiger os x10.4

WHERE CAN I GET A DOWNLOAD TO UPGRADE MY OS  RIGHT NOW IT HAS TIGER 10.4 AND HOW DO I GET IT TO WORK

It depends upon your computer.
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • How can I upgrade from tiger 10.4.11 to Lion?

i have a Macbook and its running tiger 10.4.11, how can i upgrade it to Mac os x lion ?

You have to check to see your MacBook meets the hardware requirements: at least a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7, or Xeon processor, 2 Gb memory, though 4 GB is much better and at least 7 GB free hard drive space.
Thhen you need to buy Snow Leopard, 10.6, and install and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, then purchase from the app store Lion, 10.7 and install.

  • How can I upgrade from Tiger to Leopard

Hello all, hope you can help me.
I´m running Tiger Last Vers on a white MacBook with 1.83 GHz, 55GB Hd and 2 GB RAM.
The thing is that the iPhone 3gs is running quite well (not last version updated, but at least, it runs) and I recently got an iPhone 4, that is too new for my Tiger.
Thus, needs an upgrade, but the Apple Store only provides  the Snow Leopard.
    So:
.- Can I upgrade the Tiger to the SnowLeopard directly, buying the OS from the Apple Store?
.- Do I need first to upgrade Tiger to Leopard? If so, how do I do that?
I know the very best option is buying a new Mac, but currently for me it doesn´t make any sense as I only want it to sync my devices...
    So, any idea?
It´s been almost 10 days since I got my iPhone 4, and I cannot even start it!
    Much appreciated
    Regards

  • HOw Do I upgrade from Tiger 4.11 to 5.6 on an I Mac 5.1 (Mid 2006) Intel core2 Duo?

How do  I upgrade from 4.11 (Tiger) on an I Mac 5.1 (mid2006)
to 4.6 (Snwoleopard)? I have an Intel core 2 duo  processor
with 2.16 GHz speed and 1GB RAM .
Can I just buy a disc and install- do I need to backup everything from my harddisk
    and reinstall the whole stuff?
Isw Lion (4.7) an option - or do I need more Ram?

You can but the Snow Leopard install disk from the Apple on-line storre for $29 (US) and install that on your machine.  You would be better off increasing the memory from 1 GB to 2 GB.  It is always advisable to backup your data to an external hard drive before updating an operating system just as a precaution.
For Lion you need at least 2 GB ram, 4 GB is better, and an Intel Core 2 Duo or better cpu, which you say you have.

  • How do I upgrade from tiger to snow leopard

I have a 2007 intel based mac book pro 15" that I have not used in a number of years.  I want to get it up and running again and right now I have OS X 10.4.11 Tiger.  I want to get the newest OS version I can possibly get while upgrading from Tiger 10.4.11. Please help.

    ekernan,
you’ll need to purchase the white retail Snow Leopard DVD, install it, and run Software Update to get it to 10.6.8. Once there, you can upgrade to Mavericks if your MacBook Pro meets its other requirements.

  • How can I upgrade from Tiger 10.4.11 to Leopard?

All I can find on eBay and elsewhere are "used" discs, and I'm afraid of purchasing them because I'm afraid I won't get the full functionality of what was once a "new" upgrade disc. (Like, perhaps, a serial number being registered by a previous owner that won't allow me to fully upgrade, etc.) Is this fear unfounded? Also, I'm only wanting to upgrade to Leopard so I can eventually get to Lion. Is there a more direct way of going about this?

Your fear is unfounded.. As long as you get a retail version (black color, not gray Mac specific) of an OS you get full functionality. There is no registration of an OS disc.
Also, I'm only wanting to upgrade to Leopard so I can eventually get to Lion. Is there a more direct way of going about this?
The Leopard requirements are listed below. To go to Lion 10.7 you need an Intel processor and Snow Leopard 10.6 installed if you want to download Lion. If you purchase Lion on a USB thumb drive you can go directly from Tiger.

If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
    MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD

MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)

  • How can I upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard wihout violating EULA while Mac Box Set is no longer available?

I use my original Tiger bought with MacBook Pro. But now so many applications do not support Tiger, so I decided to upgrade to SL.
But required by Apple way to do this with Mac Box Set seems to be impossible. Mac Box Set is no longer available from Apple.
Is upgrading using Snow Leopard disc, which is still in Apple Store, ok?
I will be gratefull for help.

The Mac Box Set includes Mac OS X Snow Leopard, iLife ’09 and iWork ’09. If you just use the SL installer, you don't get the additional apps.

  • HT3011 How do I upgrade from Tiger to Lion ?

I have OS X 10.4.11. In a recent update (added to the OS X), I now receive a message that FireFox no longer works with the version. What do I do now? I have been trying to get a response on upgrading to a later version of OS X and have not been able to obtain a simple straight forward answer. Very frustrating.

You will need to purchase a retail copy of Snow Leopard, available from the Apple Store, and install that. From there you can purchase Lion from the Mac App Store, or buy the installer in a USB flash driver from the Apple Store.
Please note the system requirements of Lion before you purchase:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
You'll also probably need to update many of your applications and drivers, particularly if you have any applications that are not Intel-native; PowerPC-only applications will not run under Lion.
You may just want to get a newer version of Firefox. The Mozilla project still has a version that will run on Mac OS X 10.4.11:

my cd/dvd drive isn't working and i want to upgrade my mac os x10.5.8, how can i upgrade without the software CD

I think not.   You will need to order a disc from Apple quoting your serial number, as many of these discs are machine specific.   So unless you can get your drive working I think you will have to take a trip to an Apple store.
Indeed, you have an old computer that may not be worth the cost of repair ... but it is still worth seeking Apple advice and a visual inspection.   It just might be something not too drastic.

    Retail Leopard disc looks like this;
(The disc itself has the same logo). If the one you've got is grey it simply won't work.
Given the retail and second hand prices of Leopard (usually some on Amazon MP), you'll probably find it cheaper to go directly to Snow Leopard, although there could be software updates and printer driver problems that could nullify the difference.

If they are the grey discs which came with the iMac, then they will be machine specific and will not work on the MBP anyway. You will need to purchase a retail copy of Snow Leopard from the Apple Store for about $29 and upgrade from that. I presume your MBP is Intel and not G4.

I want to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard on my 2008 MacPro. How do I avoid problems with the upgrade process?

#1 Do a complete bootable backup of your drive before upgrading. That way should anything happen you can revert back to the start and try again.
Make sure you meet Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
