How do I upgrade the version of iOS on my iPad?
I downloaded Numbers and Pages a couple of months ago and today got an update message but when I try to update these 2 Apps I get a pop up message that they are not compatible with this device (iPad 2 wi-fi +3G) says I need to have iOS 5. Can I upgrade to iOS 5 and can I do it on the iPad or do I have to go a PC and download it and then sync it etc etc etc.? What a pain this convoluted method of going elsewhere to download.
You'll need a computer. Just plug in and tell iTunes to update the OS on your iPad.

This Apple article outlines the versions of iOS that will work on each iPod touch.
Notes:
iOS 4.2 is the latest version of iOS for iPod touch (2nd generation).

I've got a new iPad and am trying to do an iCloud backup but keep getting the following message: no iCloud backups are compatible with the version of iOS (6.1.3) on this iPad.
How do I restore info from iCloud onto my new device?You would have to update your device first, before you can restore your iPad from your backup. Resolution: set it up as anew device, then update your device to the latest version "Settings > General > Updates", then reset your device again "Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings" and then after the iPad restarts again, choose to restore your device from your backup.

I had my iphone 4 locked to vodafone uk carrier. I connected the phone to itunes on my pc and tried to update the version to ios 6 through itunes. But it has been locked and asks for sim of previous carrier. how can i return to previous state?
You cannot return to previous state. The update re-locked the iPhone
to the original carrier. You must contact the original carrier to see if
they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that if your iPhone had previously been hacked/modified/
jailbroken to work with other than original carrier, it may be impossible
for the original carrier to unlock it properly. -
I have installed the latest version of iOS in my ipad but forgot to backup the content, what should i do!!! I don't want my media and other data erased, how can i find back all the data in my ipad? I haven't restore ipad yet, so any others way can be use? Now my ipad is in recovery mode.
Once you are in Recovery Mode, it's too late to do any backup. I am afraid you are going to lose your data.

I don't really understand your comment about "sing of tubes in RED which is wired". But if you are referring to the display of iTunes and the USB port that is an indication that you must restore your iPhone by connecting it to your computer via USB and then using iTunes on the computer to restore it. -
