How do I use a song in my iTunes library to record with in garage band on my iPhone? Like music from my library I want to use invGarageBand to record over.

Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

It is possible to create a ringtone with a designated 30 seconds or less section of a chosen song as long as the song or music was not purchased from the iTunes Store - or with music purchased from the iTunes Store that does not include DRM protection.

How do I consolidate album songs in my itunes library? The songs are showing up separately under the same album cover.

I asked, "how do I get my songs from my itunes library to my ipod?" and you said to sync it to the ipod. I saw that at one time on the left side, but it's not there anymore. I tried clicking on "file" and then on sync, but it didn't work. The word was lighter than the others, so I figured I would not be able to click on it.

How do I delete a song from my Itunes music library? I follow the instructions and right click on the song and then select "delete" as specified and my info claims at that point it will ask if I want to send this song to my trash bin, but, instead, when I try to delete the song, I get another window asking "are you sure you want to hide this song in iCloud? Hello. Certain songs in my itunes library were purchased a few years ago with a now discontinued email address. I am not able to listen to them any longer because I have update my itunes library, and purchased songs from itunes with my current email address. Any suggestions will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you.
I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

i recently did an up grade on my ipod touch and lost all of my music (1700 songs). all of my music wason my ipod. i have an external hard drive with most of my songs (1400 songs) on it. through playing around and just trying to fiquire it out, i managed to get the music from the external hard drive to my ipod touch. the problem that i just found out is that i cant play those songs from my computer unless my iopd is connected to the computer. when i try to play a song, it gives me thiserror message " THIS SONG CAN NOT BE USED BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL FILE COULD NOT BE FOUND. Upon turning on iCloud on my iPhones, I lost the ability to tell iTunes which playlists I want on my iPhone. Instead, I am told to download "songs" from my cloud. Annoying as that's a lot of songs to wade through again. And I have cool smart lists created to auto-sync stuff to taste. Fine.
I go to my playlist and there are no songs at all on myiPhone, even after going to settings (good luck finding that tip!) and enabling viewing "all songs" so I can see the cloud. No songs in playlists. I see all the songs if I go to an artist on the cloud and download it again. Then, back to playlist and just those songs are there!!
There is one playlist that enabled me to "download all" from my phone. Rest don't. Why????
Why can't I dictate playlists via iTunes as before?? When you have over 20,000 songs in your library, playlists are really, really important. It will take hours for me to cherry pick through the cloud to find the songs I want on my phone. The songs I already groomed via the power of iTunes.

you can hold shift when starting iTunes to force it to ask you to create a new or select an existing library file.
