How do I use Airport and Uverse?
I've got a Mac Mini connected to the internet via Uverse and on board airport. I also just connected an iPad to the same Uverse router. I have an unused Airport Extreme that I bought before I found out I couldn't use it with the printers I had then. I've since bought a printer that is wireless compatible but connected to the Mini via DSL cable. I'd like to be able to print from my iPad. What I'd like to do is hook the printer's DSL cable into the Airport Extreme and print wirelessly from both the Mini and the iPad. Is there a way to do this? Or would I have to run a DSL line though the whole house from the printer to the Uverse router?
By the way, I'm using Snow Leopard.
First I assume that you mean "Ethernet" for where you state "DSL."
If your printer is wireless-ready, you should not have to connect it to any router via Ethernet. Instead, you would configure the printer to connect directly to the wireless network provided by the Uverse wireless gateway.
The title of your post also includes using an AirPort router with your Uverse. How you (or even if you need to) use the AirPort will depend on what your networking requirements are. For example do you want the AirPort to extend the wireless range of the Uverse?
As far as printing from your iPad. iOS devices, like your iPad, use AirPrint to print to network printers. If your new printer is AirPrint-enabled, then you should be able to print directly from the iPad to it. If, on the other hand, it is not, then you would need another solution to get this to work. One would be Printopia.

You may mean the AirPort Express.....not AirPort Extreme.....as the Express is a popular travel router.
The whole idea behind using this device is that the hotel must provide an Ethernet jack in the hotel room. Then you connect the AirPort Express to the Ethernet jack with an Ethernet cable and configure it to provide your own wireless network in the room. You still have to agree to terms, pay the fees, etc.
The problem with this approach is that it is getting very difficult to find hotels in North America that prrovide an Ethernet jack....most have moved to wireless networks and the others are not far behind.
So, if the hotel is already providing a wireless signal, the AirPort Express is of no use in that situation.
If you normally stay at the same hotels, and know that they provide Ethernet ports, an AirPort Express might make sense in terms of convenience. -

You can set up daily time limits for each computer that connects using wireless, but it is not possible to do this when a computer is connecting directly using a wired Ethernet connection.

Connect the AirPort Express to the Ethernet port in your room.....to be able to create your own private wireless network in your room for multiple devices.
You will still have to pay the hotel Internet charge for one device, if the hotel charges for Internet access.
If the hotel only provides wireless service, then a single AirPort Express will not help you.
However, if you have two AirPort Express devices, then you can use one to "join" the hotel wireless network, then connect the second Express to the first using an Ethernet cable and create your own wireless network for multiple devices in your room. -

During runtime, by default, LabVIEW has undo/redo data changes under the edit menu. This will undo/redo changes made to controls during runtime. If you want a more extensive undo/redo (custom for your application), you are going to have to do quite a few things
1) Create a custom runtime menu (Edit>>RunTime Menu) and place your own undo/redo controls on it
2) Keep an action history in your program
3) Catch the Shortcut menu event for your custom undo/redo controls
4) Reverse the last action in your histroy when you catch the event
This method would allow you undo entire operations (like resize, move, or whatever kind of functionality you are building into your application) unstead of just undoing data changes.

Are you sure that you have a 1st Gen Express?
Check the model number on the side of the Express. 1st Gen is A1264.
If you see A1084 or A1088, these are much older versions of the Express that were sold long before Apple began to use the Generation naming with "n" wireless devices in 2007.
Mavericks will not support the A1084 or A1088. Use another Mac running Leopard, Snow Leopard, or a PC if you need to administer the older Express. -

I would suggest that you first follow the troubleshooting that the OP did in the second link, which is to test in a new user account to see if the behavior is consistent. Using Airport And Ethernet Together

I am still wondering if this can apply to my situation. I have an Airport Exteme BS distributing the wireless signal on it's own node. Nothing is physically connected to the BS except an ethernet cable running to a hub which is connected to the cable modem. While my ISP service isn't supplying service faster than Airport will manage, no problem...but, I would like to have the advantage ethernet networking between my machines for all the advantages that ethernet speed can bring to that situation.
My connection to the internet is from WAN from the cable modem. I have an ethernet connection from the BS that I can run a cable back to say, an iBook. Will this work? I want wireless internet, but ethernet for machine to machine networking.

I don't know much about computers, so please be patient. I started using Airport and I recently noticed a "network" option right below "Macintosh HD". When I click on "network" it shows "b67446000000" with a computer monitor icon and "connection failed". When I right click on this and select "Get more info" it displays nothing, just the spinning wheel. When I select "Connect As" it asked for my password to connect to "Server b67446000000". This may have been on my computer since I got it, I never paid much attention. Is this part of the operating system or has someone hijacked my computer? Why would I need a server...it's just me and my one computer? Maybe someone has hacked in through Airport? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Is your airport a Time Capsule.. if so it is able to serve files on the network.
The number is the MAC address of the network in the router.
Please reset the apple router whatever is and redo the setup.. this time give it a simple name.. eg TCgenX where X is the actual gen of the unit and give it a simple wireless name.. TCwifi and a simple password with 8-20 characters mix of upper and lower case and numbers.
Perhaps even better give me a screenshot from the computer of the airport utility showing me the Airport with its MAC address.
