How do i use Desktop Pc through imac27 as monitor? first of all i dont want to use bootcamp. cos it dont run high end game, this is a reason i want to use my pc .
my Graphics Card use Dvi or mini Hdmi, so which kind of Adapter to use and want full Resolution.
Thx.
p.s sry english not my first.^^)

First of all, what do you mean by plug in one set of speakers on your PC? if am not mistaken the card has 3 plugs for a default 5. surround sound. Yes your card can do 5. surround soud, but for that you need to have the 5. surround sound speakers, otherwise well it won't be 5. To get any audio from your TV, or Satelite Box, you need these items and ste
ps.
Make sure your TV or satelite box has 2 RCA's female plugs labeled (Output) to deli'ver the sound to another device *(from your Satelite or TV to the now dead 5. surround sound)? 2. Your computer must be on at ALL times to transmit (or play) the sound from your TV or satelite box. 3 you need a?Y?RCA to 3.5mm plug jack cable (they are at allMart or Bull'sEye stores for 2$. its a cable that has the 2 male RCA's 's white 's red at one end, the other end will have the classic headphone jack *(you can always use this cable to transmit any audio coming from any device such as MP3, CD, DVD, Laptop, TV, and many other devices to your 5. surround sound in the living room or the computer) 4. Plug the Y RCA in the input port in your Audigy2Zs sound card. Make sure the Mic, and AUX are on mute, and that the Line In volume is at 70% and your TV, Satelite Box audio is at 50%. If its too low volume watch out, you'll be controling about?4 volume settings *(the TV or Satelite Box, the Line-In, Master Volume on the sound card, and Speaker Volume) 5 Sit back and enjoy!

  • How do I use a Mac Mini + Airport Express + Time Machine disk to backup another iMac

How do I use a Mac Mini + Airport Express + Time Machine disk to backup another iMac?
The question pretty much says it all.
I have a Mac Mini with an attached 3TB Hard Drive used for Time Machine Backups.
I have an Airport Extreme base station which services that machine plus several others.
I would like to backup my new iMac and a MacBook Pro to the Mac Mini.
What do I need to do on the mini to export that hard drive so that it can be used as a Time Machine target from the other systems?
    All systems are running 10.6.8.

Well you would have to do backups over a network which is much slower and has highest chance of becoming corrupt. I think your best option would be to get an apple time capsule to act as a network and back if thats how you wanna do that

I need to know how to get my desktop (mac mini) laptop (mac book pro) iPhone4S & ipad all sharing the same iCloud... I have four deveices...  I\iPad & iPhone are synced to the mini, but the laptop is the main one.

First, your Macs must have OS X Lion, and your devices iOS 5. Then, go to your devices and open Settings > iCloud to configure the same Apple ID. In your computers, go to System Preferences > iCloud and set up iCloud with the Apple ID

If you are using Keynote, then no, you would be fine with just the adapter and a cable hooked up to the projector.

  • How do you use your Apple mini- DVI to DVI cord?

Hi. I just went to an apple shop yesterday to get an Apple Mini-DVI to DVI to hook my 17 inch iMac to a 20 inch external display(Samsung SyncMaster 204B) and was surprised by the length of the cord. How can you connect the two displays with such a short cord? Am I missing something? I could use it if I put my second display right in front of my iMac as opposed to putting them side by side... I read some posts and noticed that some of you are using the cord so just wondering how you do it...

Thank you for your reply. I had a look at the cable you are using but they are much longer than the DVI to DVI cable…I want to hook my iMac to an external display, not a TV though…
I hook mine to a DVI-HDMI cable to plug into my HDTV.
You probably just need a standard DVI cable if your
TV has a DVI input. The "cord" is mainly just an
    adapter.

  • How can i use 3(or more) hdmi monitors with the new Mac Pro(2013)?

I've been looking around, trying to find a solution to this problem.
I saw at one place that an active thunderbold -> DVI will work with the older mac pro model.
Will this work with the new one as well?
Will i be able to connect 3 screens if i use 2 passive thunderbold->hdmi and one
    active thunderbold->dvi and then a dvi->hdmi?

If you need to buy Apple's $99 Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapters you may find you need to return and replace the adapter/s till you find one that works.
Recently, after my nMP arrived I bought two adapters. It took 3 trips to the Apple store to find a second one that worked properly. This also happened a few months ago when I was buying those adapters.
You should be aware that you'll also need the DVI cable that has the full set of pins, not the one with the row in the middle missing.
If you check on the Apple customer reviews in the online store you'lll find the issues and possible solutions to this situation.
Eventually I returned the second adapter when I found a way to get 2560 x 1600 through the HDMI port. I now have two 30" monitors that display 2560 x 1600.

  • How can I use an iPad Mini as a external display for any new Vixia Series Camcorder?

    Hey Everyone,
I've worked with Vixia's previously and am looking to purchace one of my own, a G20 or G30 most likely.
I'm very interested in using an iPad Mini as an external display and wondering if anyone has had luck with this.
    Cheers and thank you!

do you mean you want to play your videos from your Vixia camcorder on your iPad mini? Well, that may be a little difficut. Because the video came from your camera may not be a very friendly format.
Here you can try install VLC on your iPad mini , VLC should support AVCHD (*.MTS) natively.
    If this can't work, then find yourself a free converter;
Handbrake, Any video converter ,ffMPEG etc.
If this can't wrok , or the output quality is jerky.
try this one free mts/m2ts converter from pav, I used it and considered to update it.

  • Old computer crashed, how can I use my ipod mini on my new computer. I no longer have the original itunes software cd.

I have an ipod mini. My computer crashed and no longer have software. Can I still use my mini to go into itunes and buy music? I have a new computer, windows 7. Thanks.

Yes, you should still be able to use your iPod Mini on your new Windows 7 PC. Simply download iTunes from Apple's website and you should be good to go.  You don't need the original software that came with it anymore as it's now bundled with the iTunes application.

  • Satellite A205: Dynadock - How to connect to LCD TV with HDMI to DVI cable

I recently purchased this product and had a problem when connecting it to my LCD TV.
I used a HDMI to DVI cable to connect it to the TV. Only a small portion of the full display shows on the TV.
I have adjusted all setting on the laptop (Satellite A205) but it only adjusts the laptop screen, not the TV.
I also used the adaptor to VGA, plugged it into the computer input on TV, same effect. I can use VGA output on side of laptop to TV ok.
Any ideas on how to adjust dynadock output settings?

First of all it would be interesting to know what dynadock you have exactly; one with DVI port or one with VGA port?
    >I have adjusted all setting on the laptop (Satellite A205) but it only adjusts the laptop screen, not the TV.
You should know that the dynadock has a own built-in graphics controller and video drivers to control the video stream.
Therefore you should change the settings directly in the dynadock settings and not on the laptop!!!

  • External video projector - How can I hook up my Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter onto my new MacBookAir if the machine does not have a mini port (but only 2 USBs and 1 Thunderbolt)?

    Hi
How can I hook up my DVI Adapter onto my new MacBookAir if the machine does not have a mini port (but only 2 USBs and 1 Thunderbolt)?
Is there a DVI adaptor already for Thunderbolt?
    Thanks,
    JFR

The Mini Display port and Thunderbolt port use compatible connector bodies. Your current Mini Display to DVI or VGA adapter will still work as before on the newer Thunderbolt capable machines.

  • Mac mini HDMI to DVI adapter cable

The new Mac mini comes with a HDMI to DVI adapter cable. Typically these (Apple) adapter cables are also available for sale separately however at the moment no other Apple device (if one ignores the Apple TV) would need this cable and as every 2010 Mac mini already includes the cable it is it seems not listed on the Apple store.
As I am interested in getting more of these adapter cables, does anyone know if there is an Apple part number for them, or even an Apple service part number?

Be careful what you read and with your answers. The OP is inquiring about an HDMI to DVI adapter, not a DVI to HDMI adapter. They are two very different devices! Although HDMI and DVI are electrically equivalent, some adapters work in only one direction, so you cannot always just turn it around and run it the other way.
John, there are HDMI to DVI adapters available from 3rd parties. Be careful that it has a return policy and a warranty. Some adapters are not to the standard and are not functioning as expected. I have been happy with Monoprice products, but have no experience with this particular adapter that you seek.
Currently the Apple Store has two Belkin adapters. If Apple sells it, it usually works well.

  • Red static using Apple's mini-Displayport to DVI Single Link adaptor

    Here's the problem :
The adapter from Apple I got is the 30$ (or so) DVI-D Single Link (nine pins active on the side with six pins non-active in the center).
My Dell 2408WFP monitor got two DVI-D Single Link connectors.
I did my test with two different cable : one DVI-D Single Link and one DVI-D Dual Link. Both cable are working just fine since I can hook either my older Macbook Pro Core Duo or my PC to the monitor using them.
But when I 'm trying to use my new Macbook Pro Unibody 13" with the mini-Displayport to DVI adapter I always get red statics : one pixel dots flickering randomly all over the screen. The picture is there, though, and my computer is able to recognize the display and its native resolution (1920x1200). Sometime, the display seems to lose the signal and shows only white noise.
    Any idea, similar experience?
    P.
    Thanks for everything,
    P.

Problem solved here, really. Nothing to do with Apple. Everything to do with Dell.
So I got a replacement monitor (a second one) from Dell regarding another problem with the Displayport connexion. It fixed this problem. I then tested the same mini-Displayport to DVI adaptor on this new replacement monitor : works flawlessly. No problem whatsoever. No static. No suddenly going in sleep mode. No random disconnection. So the problem was the monitor : EDID profile, maybe firmware. See below.
Here are more details which I got using SwitchResX. I hope it can help others for diagnostic.
The monitor that was ALL wrong was : a Dell 2408WFP, EDID version 1.3, product code 10912 (2AA0) (A02A) (which means, I think that it was REV A02A : you CANNOT rely on what's written on the sticker on the back of the monitor for that info especially when you get a replacement monitor, use SwitchResX).
The new monitor that is WORKING (with everything : Diplayport connexion as well as mini-Displayport to DVI adapter) : a Dell 2408WFP, EDID version 1.4, product code 11168 (2BA0) (A02B) (so I guess is REV A02B).
Notice the difference in the EDID version AND in the REV version.
If you have a Dell monitor, same model (2408WFP) and are experiencing problems with your connexions, check those info, call Dell for a replacement.
Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions. I'll post this on Dell forum as well.

  • Can't get MAC MINI HDMI to consistently display on TV monitor

My new MAC mini is connected to a new HD Samsung TV. Initially had problem showing HD movies because I had Mini connected via VGA. Purchased appropriate connection for HDMI and HD movies show great, for a while. Appears that sometimes zhen the mini sleeps, monitor doesn't see mini with HDMI connection. When I switch back to VGA, the monitor once again sees the mini. Recently HDMI was working great until I downloaded updated software, and now once again monitor doesn't see HDMI, only sees moni when I reconnect via VGA. I've checked all connections many times and can't find the issue. Looking for any assistance.
    THANKS

Update: Got the HDMI working again. Since I couldn't see mini mac with HDMI, hooked up VGA and restarted. While mac mini was restarting, changed connection to HDMI and low and behold, the monitor saw the mini in HDMI. Don't know if that's the optimum way.... but it worked.

  • HDMI to DVI to VGA to Monitor?

I just purchased a Mac Mini and totally forgot that Apple upgraded to Mini DisplayPort (I still have the mini-vga to vga cable on my MacBook).
So what next? Do I have to buy a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter? Or can I somehow hook up the Mini to my VGA monitor with the HDMI to DVI adapter that I got in the box?
Also, I have one of these, but it doesn't seem to fit in the DVI:

    Hi,
*Can the HDMI port drive analog displays (VGA displays for example) using adapters?*
+No. The HDMI port will drive digital connections—such as DVI—using the adapter that came with the Mac mini, but cannot be used for analog displays such as VGA. You can purchase a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter separately to drive analog displays.+
