How do i use home share to get music from my old computer

I have a new computer that i'm trying to transfer all my music to and i'm have a tough time doing so. How do you do this?

Check out the article below on how to move music between tow computers. My recommendation would be to use the external hard drive method, as it is very straightforward on moving the files.

Ditto.
You need to look for your itunes library under Computers and select it, then music.
Music column is for web based content not local content, just to confuse everyone.

How do I get music from my old ipod to new one please ?

I have tried bbut cannot seem to get music from my old ipod to my new ipod. I lost old one long ago and recently found it and much loved n' missed songs . I since replaced pc and saved no music . I tried connecting both ipods to my laptop but no luck getting songs from old to new !! Any help would be greattly appreciated pelase n' thank you :-)

If your music was ripped from CDs, you will need to re-rip it to your iTunes library on your new computer. But if you bought your music from iTunes, they are still in iCloud, and you can redownload them at no cost. Sign in to the iTunes Store on your computer, then click on "Purchased" on the list on the right hand side. You'll see everything you have ever bought from iTunes in there, and anything that's not currently on your computer will have a little cloud with a downward pointing arrow in it. Click on the cloud symbol next to whatever you want to download, and it will download to your computer. Plug in your iPod and synch it, and you're done. Hope this helps!

How can i easily move my itunes music from the old computer to the new computer? i have my playlists organized in my old computer, i would like it to stay that way in my new computer. I also have my ipods, iphone sync'd in the old computer so i want to make sure that things won't get messed up (my apps, playlists, etc) when i move over everything to the new computer and sync all my devices with the new computer.

Make sure the XP box is upgraded to the latest version of itunes. Also make sure it's using the itunes media folder layout as explained here, because that's what the W7 is going to be using.

Install itunes on the new W7 PC.
Get these folders from the XP machine
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
And put them here on the W7 machine
C:\users\username\My Music\iTunes
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

The "iPod" part can really be any drive or DVD-R or whatever your can fit the library onto.

Copy the entire iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer to move iTunes content.
As for pictures, copy them from where there are on the old computer to the new computer... this has nothing to do with iTunes.
Alternatively, if both computers are Windows based, use the Windows Easy File Transfer Utility to move everything.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third partyn program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple)

Based on my HAZY memory of a previous question like this, what you would need to do is...
Log out of one Cloud account (MAY need to restart your computer, not sure of this... hazy memory) then log in to your OTHER Cloud account
