How do I use home sharing between my home computer and my work computer so I can listen to the same music both places?
Hello. I am trying to use my work computer with itunes to listen my my music on my itunes on my computer at home. I have signed into both. My computer at home is off, is there a way to listen to all my music on both computers by using Home Sharing or another means?
The best way I know is to sign up for iTunes Match. All your music is stored in the cloud and can be accessed by up to 10 devices.

I have tried to install home sharing between my desk top and lap top. I can only see the music I have bought from iTunes on my lap top. Is this normal? I thought I would be able to see my entire library.
Yes I tried that. I finally turned off all home sharing settings, shut down my desktop and found them in my account settings in the store on the cloud. So at that point I just had it download everything. But I suspect that with the ipad somehow being on, the store was saying I had already received them? Regardless, my trip today whilst running errands, I was rocking out to vintage Police music! Thank you so much for responding.

I am trying to set up home sharing between my iphone 4s and mac which is running itunes 11. Both are connected to my home wifi network and using the same apple id but on the iphone app it says 'Turn on Home sharing in iTunes on your computer or apple tv using account ***

How do I find out my password to back up and restore my new iphone 6? Its not the same as my iTunes password..
I am guessing you are talking about an encryption password that you placed on the backup you put into iTunes on your computer.
If so, you elected to encrypt your iPhone's backup. You will need to recall that password, or you cannot access the backup. -
How do i use file sharing with my microsoft pc and mac book?
I have a windows vista pc that my daughter uses and I have a macbook pro and we want to use file sharing for our itunes libararys. We connect to internet with my time capsule. I have both computers itunes file sharing turned on but I can't seem to be able to see them on the network. can someone give me some pointers on how to make this work. thanks

I'm trying to find out information on how to go about helping my sister to register her new nano and load on CD's and such. I have a nano and already know how to do this but she is from CA and we want to load it here on my computer. She will be going home in 2 weeks and wants to use it in the car for the ride home.We don't listen to the same kind of music so I don't want to use my library but do one of her own for her. Also she will want to add this library on to her computer at home. I'm 60 and my sister is 70 I have enough knowledge to do some things on the computer but am not real computer smart. My sister is just learning about everything but has no idea what to do with that knowledge. Can anyone give me and idea on how to do this that I can get a grasp of what needs to be done to do this? My nephew says it's easy but he's in Az and I'm here. He also helps people with computers so he is more knowledgeable than I am. Would appreciate any help on this. thx

Make sure each user has their own computer login.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to /Users/Shared.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder.
Quit iTunes and log into other user.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder.
That is all you need to do.
Any changes in iTunes by one will be seen by all others (since you are using the same library).
All users will have their own Contacts & Calendars and all other info.
If you are using Fast User switching, you must quit iTunes before switching users if others wish to use iTunes. -
Home Sharing between 2 Apple ID accounts on separate PCs...can our iOS devices access both?

Hope someone can help. My wife and I have separate iTunes accounts with separate Apple IDs on separate PCs.
We both have HomeSharing turned on and can access each others music libraries from both PCs which is great. However when I try to access the home shared libraries from our devices (I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2, and my wife has an iPhone 5) when connected to the home network I can only see my own shared library on my devices and my wife can only see her own shared Library from her iPhone 5.
Just for background we are both running the latest iTunes and are on win7 PCs, my iPhone 4 is on iOS7, the iPad 2 and iPhone 5 are currently running iOS6
Is there a way to see each others shared libraries on all our devices when we connect to the home network through wifi?

In order to do this, you would need to switch between the two Apple IDs used on each system in Settings > Music.
On iPhone, go to Settings > Music, then log in to Home Sharing using the same Apple ID and password.

I know ITunes purchases can be shared with upto 5 computers ( gadgets) in a household.
Is it possible to transfer something purchased by my husband on ITunes from his Sony Vaio onto my Mac Book Pro without problems?

Home sharing between windows 7 laptop and iPad not working
I have looked everywhere for an answer but haven't been able to come up with a solution yet.
So my problem is that I had to get my Samsung laptop (Win7) rebooted after a virus. Before doing so, I connected by iPad by USB to transfer my music. I couldn't use home sharing because my Win7 laptop was infected with a virus that wouldn't let me access the internet.
After the reboot, I connected home sharing to try and retrieve my music on my main computer.
I am very familiar with home sharing and have used it previously with other computers.
My iPad recognizes my laptop and I am able to access the library through my iPad; but on my laptop, the ipad doesn't show up on home sharing.
I cannot transfer back my music via USB either, it treats it like an iPod and won't let me put it back.
I have restarted EVERYTHING, restarted both devices, and relogged in - and no luck.
My laptop is my main computer and I'm dying to get my music back on it!
Does anyone have any solution to this problem?

It isn't homesharing that allows iTunes on your PC to see your iPad when connected. You will likely get better answers to your questions in the iTunes for windows community.

I have a new IPAD and just bought APple TV. Need to set up home sharing on my account and have followed Support options wherein you log into ITunes, choose advanced, then allow Home sharing. There is no place to even sign in to ITunes as i have always seen before. Cannot start ITunes on Laptop (linked to IPAD) at all but can from Browser. Trying to share content from my IPAD and APple TV.

You don't share content from AppleTV (as it contains no content) and you can AirpPlay from iPad to AppleTV, not share content.
To turn on Home Sharing on the iPad, Settings > Store.
THis allow soyu to view the content of the iTune slibrary on your comnoputer. -

Does your wife sync her phone with a different computer or iTunes.
If so you need to copy that music to that iTunes
If she syncs with the same iTunes as you do just select your music and sync as normal -
Why does Apple need to keep me from connecting my Iphone on my home computer and my work computer?
I travel alot for work and the fact that I can't dock my Iphone until I get home or that I have to email work pictures to my self from home to work because Apple can't trust people with their own content is really, really annoying.
What are you doing Apple? Are you trying to upset your clientel? Is it too hard for you to believe that I have a home computer and a laptop? Of which, you sell all of the the above, but if they were to be able to interact with each........no, no, that would just make too much sense.iCloud stufff...
