How do I use Itunes to see what is on my ipad

With the old version of Itunes, when I'd plug one of my kids Ipads in, it let me look at what is synching to it, and check stuff to sync or not. I don't see where in the new version of Itunes I have that choice. Help?

When you plug in the iPad, you should see it in the upper right hand corner by the iTunes Store button. From there you click on it and there is a tab that says On this iPad. Alternatively you could bring back the Side Bar to have a more familiar view of how you were working before with iTunes.

I took a look at it but it seems to be aimed solely at "media" on an iPad, i.e. movies, music, TV shows etc. This is fine, but I also want to be able to deal with all the apps on each iPad too, so that when I connect each iPad to my MacBook through iTunes, the synching process works just like it always has for my first iPad (an IPad 2). I don't mean that I want all the apps on both iPads to be the same (my wife doesn't need all the apps that are on the iPad 2 at present), but I do want to be able to add/remove/update media and apps on each iPad, and update the iOS on each iPad.
Basically, I guess, I want a situation whereby when I plug in either of the iPads, iTunes recognizes each as a separate device and has a totally separate "library" (backup?) of music, movies, TV shows, etc. and — most importantly — apps. Is that possible?

How to i get itunes to see what songs are on my phone?

I deleted some of my songs off of my phone to make some memory room. I plug my phone into my computer to get the songs i deleted back on to my phone. When i try to sync it, itunes sees that all the songs i deleted are still on my phone. So itunes thinks all the songs in my library are still on there, so it wont add them onto my phone. You are looking at the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (on a PC with iTunes 11 press alt-S and the Store drop-down should appear) ? e.g.

What exactly do you see when trying to buy the app, what messages/prompts show on the screen ? If you have a balance on your account then that should automatically be used for the purchase (unless you are trying to gift it), you can't specify how items are billed. Is this the first time that you've tried to buy something in the stores, or have you moved countries ? Even though you might be being asked for card details it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be charged (apart from a temporary store holding charge, which the card issuer should remove within a few days or so)

I have alot of music on a seperate server, how do I get iTunes to see this. I have tried adding it as a folder however when I shut the computer down and come back to it again it can't locate the music. Any ideas?

Apple provides repeat downloads as a convenience, not a substitute for your computers being the primary source of file transfers. All your iTunes information such as playlists, ratings, etc. are in a file on your computer, not in the Apple Store. Typically when you move computers you copy the whole iTunes folder and everything it contains to the new computer. Moving media files can be done with a drive, or by Home Sharing. You can also redownload media but let's say somebody desiced Apple may no longer sell a certain album; it cannot be downloaded again but if you already have it on a computer you can move your copy of the file.
5 authorizations: Some households have multiple computers. If you want ot use one with an account it has to be authroized. It means you can use any computer in the house to make purchaes, etc.

My employer is issuing an iPad 4 to me, but has informed me that I "...can expect no privacey" of any personal information that may be put on the iPad. This is not acceptable to me. How can I use iTunes to keep my personal information off the iPad?

What has me concerned is that my employer has also requested that I use my Persoanl iTunes account to syc and update the iPad. I am concerend with my personal privacey, as I have two other iPads that use this account regualary.
My question is: How can I use iTunes to update etc. the company iPad using iTunes without compromising my personal information?
What I have done is to set up a different sign in (is that called an Apple ID?) within iTunes (I now have two different names I can use to sign in to iTunes). They both still use the same iTunes and my personal apps and information appear to be available to my second sign in name (the second sign in name is what I intend to use for the company iPad). When I sync the company iPad how do/can I keep my persoanl information from being syc'd automatically to the comapany iPad?

It sounds like you will still want to link your iPad and computer, but you want to prevent the iPad from syncing information from your computer to your iPad. I have an article here for you that can help tell you how to set this up:

You will want to follow the steps here to set up the iPad for syncing, but when it comes time to sync, you'll just want to make sure that the boxes for syncing the multitude of items that you can sync remain unchecked so that none of that information gets synced into the iPad.
Another note: your second Apple ID will not be able to access the apps, music, movies, tv shows, etc., that you have purchased under your primary Apple ID. Even though it seems that the secondary Apple ID still has access to those items, that is just because you are viewing your second Apple ID through the iTunes Store section on your computer and you have those items saved locally on your computer. You will need to repurchase and download all of the content that you wish to use again on your second Apple ID, if that is what you wish to solely use on this iPad.

i was wondering how i can use itunes to xfer music while disconnected to the net.
as it is right now (itunes v7.1), i get a message "cannot access itunes store", and will not bring up the usual menus on the left side of the itunes window where i view my music, vids, photos, and playlists.
needless to say, i dont even HAVE and itunes store account. it would be lovely if i could disable itunes store, but hey, i'm sure thats been made impossible.

for some reason when itunes first installs a new version, it opens up to the iTunes Store. Since you don't have net connection, its going to error out.
But the fact that you can't see any of the other items, I would recommend redownloading iTunes (and Quicktime to be sure) and reinstalling it and see if that helps.
Just for the record, can you click on the Library icon?

Out of curiosity how much data per month are you using? Another factor could be if neighbors have all done the same thing as you and the node is being overloaded on home internet use.
