The problem is that you are using application-identity. When you
specify an objectid-class, we treat is automatically as application
identity. To resolve this, I would recommend removing both the
objectid-class and identity-type atributes from your class. With
"objectid-class" in place, we asssume that you wil take care of identity.

To use ClassSequenceFactory must the identity-type of my entities be

The last question is related to my architecture: one VM with the EJBs
(entity and session) and another VM with the web classes and JSPs,

No trade-in. I just sell mine [on ebay] a few weeks before the newer version comes out, or right after. they go for quite a bit if they are in nice condition.

Using iTunes with multiple macs

I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac mini. I use a portable hard drive to store my iTunes library. I was able to use the same library for both Macs before and I'm not sure when (maybe before iTunes 8) but I'm not able to anymore. I can run it just fine in my MBP and when I open the library up on the mini, nothing's there. I make sure I hold down Option when opening iTunes then I click choose library and go to my external hard drive and select the right library. I also have an iPhone with 2.1 installed, not that that should matter. Any suggestions?

I am currently storing my iTunes Library on a external hard drive attached to my MacMini (10.5.4). I have my iMac 3.06(10.5.5) and my MacMini linked to that library. I just tried this so not 100% percent sure all the bugs are out, but it looks like it's going to work. I tired it with one artist that I have purchased music and imported music for. The only problem I have now is how to keep them up-to-date. If I import on one machine I also have to import on the other. Not sure if this helps but it sounds like you are already doing what I am doing. NOTE: I am also using iTunes 8. How did you keep them up-to-date when buying or import new music. I have an iPhone 4 that I use primarily on my Windows laptop and my wife has an iPhone 3G that she uses with our iMac. We have both of these devices set to Manually manage music and videos. If I connect my iPhone 4 to the iMac the checkbox to Manually manage music and videos is unchecked. If I check the box and click on Apply, it tells my that my iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes Library?" How can I connect my iOS devices to any computer without running into this problem.

Iphone will sync/manually mange music with one and only one computer.
If you sync/manage to another, it will erase the content from the iphone and replace with content from the new computer.
This is by design and intentional.

I have my own video iPod, and use iTunes without a problem.
However, I bought a refurbished iPod for a relative, and am now trying to download music onto this new iPod. When I go into my iTunes with the new iPod connected to my computer, I can't get the new iPod to show up on the task bar -- so I can't download music onto it.
Do I have to create a separate account for this new iPod, or somehow download iTunes again for this new iPod in order to get music onto it???

Using a second iPod is normally just a question of connecting it to your computer choosing how you want to update it and using your existing iTunes. You don't need a separate Windows account unless two users want to use the one computer and maintain separate libraries. You don't need two instances of iTunes for separate accounts. Have you had look at either of these troubleshooting pages?

ITunes with multiple iPhones

Does anyone know if it's possible to have multiple iPhones set up on a single iTunes account? If so, how do you do this? I already have an iTunes account but will have a second iPhone in the household... want to be able to share/sync music library, apps, purchased music, movies, etc. Any ideas?

My question is a bit different. I have not yet been able to wean my wife off her dying Dell. While she has iTunes on it sync fails so she has not backed up her 3GS phone in ages. She has different music, pictures, and apps than I do, and we do not want to share these. So I want to sync her phone (and iPad as well) to my Macbook Pro, but keeping things separate.The responses and Apple material regarding syncing multiple phones to a single Mac talk about shared music and media libraries and do not seem to talk about apps.
I'm afraid if I try to sync her devices to my iTunes it will wipe out her apps and media. Can anyone confirm or refute this?

Using Itunes with multiple hard drives

I'm a new mac user and have a 250GB external hard drive with two FAT partitions. They appear as two individual drives to my MAC. Each partition has a lot of music. Its more that one of the partitions can hold. I can access and play songs in itunes by accesing them through the file system on the hard drives.
I saw the option to point itunes to an external hard drive in the advanced general preferences tab, but it seems to have a limitation of one location/folder. I can't seem to find a way to make itunes aware of multiple folders which could exist on multiple disk. I'm using Itunes 7.02, on MAC 10.4.8. Is there a way to do this, or is it a limitaiton of itunes?

Although iTunes only has one 'iTunes Music folder location', the music can be stored at any location and added to the library.
The 'iTunes Music folder location' is the location where iTunes stores ripped CDs and purchased music. It does not tell iTunes where your music is stored.
The locations of your songs are stored in the 'iTunes Library' file.
Read more about the library files here.
Uncheck 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to the library' in Preferences>Advanced>General. Then add your music to the library.
