How do I use my midi keyboard with iPad?

I have an Axiom keyboard that requires external power ... Even when I connect the external power chord and then plug it into the ipad using the camera kit, it says that it draws too much power for the ipad ... Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

How do I use a midi keyboard as an input device on garageband? Its an oxygen 61 board.  I'm using an iPad camera connection kit and a separate power source for the midi but each time it says it cannot use the midi as it requires too much power.

Everywhere that I've checked it is not possible to do this. I would like to even do this using the vkb. I hate having to stretch my thumb all the way up just to send a message. It's messaging, not a report or email. Seems backwards. Hopefully some day Apple can add this option.

Yes, of course, that is what is used in Japan.  You can still type any language, not just Japanese.  It just has a slightly different layout.
If you have a problem after you have connected it, come back here and provided details about what is not working the way you want.

  • How do I use my beats headphones with iPad?

I am not literate with iPad, thus need help to use these Beats.
It Appears the headphone jack doesn't fit the iPad. I mean it goes in but doesn't seat.
    Help!

All Beats headphones use the standard 3.5 mm jack.  Unless they are wireless.  You may just need to press slightly harder on the plug to get it to sit in all the way.

  • Can I use my wireless keyboard with iPad?

I have an original old iPad. I also have a Mac Wireless keyboard.
Can I link to my my iPad? and how?

    You can certainly try
    1)  on iPad:  pull up Settings > General > Bluetooth
    2)  slide from Off to On  (or On to Off, wait, then Off to On again)
    3)  on keyboard:  hold down the power button on the side until the little green light flashes
    4)  release
    5)  on iPad:  "Apple Wireless Keyboard" should pop up under "Devices"
    6)  if yes, tap "Not Connected" so it searches for a return signal from the keyboard
if no, try resetting/restarting your iPad (holding down the Home button and the Sleep button at the same time) and repeating instructions
    7)  on keyboard:  send the iPad a return signal by pressing the Shift key

  • How can I use a USB keyboard with my Macbook Pro?

My MBP will not recognize my brand new USB keyboard.
I have tried the keyboard on two other Macbook Air's and it works perfectly.
    My MBP:
    OS X Yosemite
    10.10.1
Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)
    2.4 GHz Core i5
    8GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Mac HD
    Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB
Thoughts on how I can resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    Brenden,
    Thanks for the reply.
I've gone your suggestions in detail and the keyboard is still not working.
From what I can tell this is a known issue with Yosemite.

  • My MACbook is connected to my iMAC using thunderbolt. How can I use my wireless keyboard with my MACBook with the lid OPEN?

It might work with the lid closed but I want to use the both screens. I try to detect the keyboard and the track pac on my Macbook pro but nothing is detected except my iMAC.

The easiest way is to copy the iTunes folder from your old PC to your MB (put it in the Music folder as a subfolder), along with the other valuable data on the old PC. Or restore it from a backup of your old PC. Then authorize iTunes on the MB to the same account you had on the PC. When you sync it will warn you that your content will be deleted, but it will be replaced with the same content from the MB. Before syncing you should also make sure there is at least one entry in iCal and Address book on the MB (assuming you sync to Outlook or equivalent on the PC) to assure that your contacts and calendar entries will move over correctly.
Al alternative that is less effective is to connect the iPhone to the MB without syncing, and choose "Transfer Purchases" from the iTunes File menu. This willl copy purchases music, videos and apps, but not ripped tracks from the iPhone to the MB.

  • How do I use an SDXC card with iPad 2?

Is the inability to recognize an SDXC card a limitation of the camera adapter or something inherent in iOS? Anybody know?

Not a perfect situation, but couldnt you transfer pictures from your camera to the iPad using the USB adapter?

  • Seperate my midi keyboard with two or more software instruments

How can I seperate my midi keyboard with two or more software instruments?

Sorry I was not clear in my story. I do understand the concept of MIDI transferring info and not actual sound. The problem is, I record a string pad from my keyboard onto GB (with a USB connection) but then I open a new track to record along with it using an electric piano sound (also from my keyboard, not from GB's internal sound). But when I record the new E. Piano part onto the song, it automatically converts the original string pad part that has been recorded into an E. Piano sound.
My question is this. Is GB not able to recognize two separate sounds or does it apply the same MIDI message to all software tracks? I find it odd that it would not let you record two or more different sounds onto the same song.

  • TS1702 Using an iPad camera connection kit and a MIDI to USB cable to interface a MIDI keyboard with GarageBand. It works flawlessly... almost...

I'm using an iPad camera connection kit and a MIDI to USB cable to interface a MIDI keyboard with GarageBand. It works flawlessly... until I use the sustain pedal. Once the pedal is depressed while playing a given note, from then on, the pedal itself plays the note every time it is depressed. It's not the keyboard or the pedal. I've tried others. That leaves the app or the connection between the iPad and the keyboard. I find it hard to believe I'm the only person who is experiencing this problem. Anyone have a fix?

Yes.  There are a ton of write-ups on how to do the connections.   I connect my m-audio Keystation 61 es through the CCK to my iPad and use GarageBand to control it.  Some keyboards require a powered USB hub to make things work.  I use a belkin 4 port hub in my own setup.   Here is a link to tested / verified keyboards that work via the CCK:  http://iosmidi.com/devices/
