How do I use my video on I movie

Dears, I am starting to use I Movie version 10.0.6 - All my video are saved on a external hard drive, to save my space on my Mac hard drive, which is only 45 G free now. The problem I have is the following. Each video I want to use through I Movie, should be automatically imported (through the fonction imported media) into the I Movie software. The consequence of doing this, and what I want to avoid, is that the movie is automatically saved on my mac hard drive. Which is basically what I dont want to do. I have about 100 G of movie on my external hard drive and I don't know how to use them, through I Movie, if I have to import them all on my hard drive mac.
Probably something I am not doing well, so thank for your help.
Regards
Fabrice

Fabrice,
Your iPhone's backups are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Where your backups are stored
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes

Glad that I could help!

Google posted a Snow Leopared specific update to the video chat plugin during the weekend. You will need to re-install it manually by going to http://mail.google.com/videochat

  • How awkward is using the video camera?

Many folks relate that it is awkward to shoot video (due to positioning of the lens and buttons).
So, really, how bad is it?
Do you get over it fairly quickly, or is it 'perpetually awkward', like waring two left shoes?
    thanks,
    Darrin

Here's my experiences during a recent vacation.
My finger accidently crept into more than a few shots - very un-apple like design. It happened less frequently the more I used the video function. Something that you can adjust too but probably never eliminate completely.
More than once I thought I had stopped video capture by pressing the center button only to find that I had taken a 35 minute movie of the inside of my pocket. I also missed some scenes I wanted because I was actually turning the camera off when I thought I was turning it back on. To be fair these occasions were all outdoors and I was wearing sunglasses which made it almost impossible to see the displayed controls. I didn't have the problem indoors but I have noticed a few other posts questioning the operation of the center button in video mode.
    - I was happy with the quality of most of the video with two exceptions
    1. outdoor scene with a very bright background at the top and the subject matter in shadows at the bottom. They came out very dark and hard to see unless the camera was only pointed at the shadow area - but this was hard to tell when shooting because the display screen washed out in the sunshine and I was again wearing sunglasses. Perhaps any camera would have problems under these conditions.
    2. there is no zoom lenses so if you can't get close to small subjects you won't be happy with the results.
Overall I got what I expected, an upgrade from my first gen 1G nano, and a handy video camera that captured family memories I otherwise would have missed. I've never owned a video camera before and knew this wouldn't be a hi-def model. For me, as a "free" add-on to an iPod it was a "no brainer" as I don't shoot enough video to justify a dedicated unit. Your milage my vary.

  • How can i use apple tv and iTunes movies with component video cables for an older receiver and projector?

i have an older yamaha receiver and projector both without hdmi inputs but component video instead. I would like to get apple tv and start renting movies through iTunes but apple tv only supports hdmi and ive read that iTunes has codes to prevent the use ot analog cables with movies. Is there a way to adapt hdmi to component video for both apple tv and iTunes easily?

Yes, HDMI is the only supported method. Also, with converters you will run into issues with HDCP (which will prevent you from streaming DRM content from iTunes etc) as well as resolution.

  • How do I use a variable to set movie clip properties?

I'm building a simple contact page that allows users to
select a city from a comboBox. I'd like to pass the selected
comboBox data through a variable that controls a movie clip with
the same name. (already on the stage)
    locationListener.change = function (loc_obj:Object) {
    var loc_mc = loc_obj.target.selectedItem.data;
    loc_mc._visible = true;
So far this hasn't worked. I've tested hardcoding the movie
clip instance name (Atlanta._visible = true) and it works, but I
can't figure out why using the variable loc_mc won't trigger
    interaction with the movie clip.
Something simple, I assume. Thanks in advance for any
    help.

    clbeech:
I tried using your suggestion, but for some reason it doesn't
recognize it as naming the movie clip instance. I traced the
variable and confirmed that the correct value (Atlanta) is being
    passed.
I assume this is because the variable is not declared as a
MovieClip, but I can't figure out how to convert it inside the
    function.

  • How Do I change a Video Tag from Movie to TV Show in iTunes 8?

There used to be a drop down menu in the Video tab, but that is gone. Thanks!

If you right-click on the video and choose "Get Info," choose the "Options" tab at the top of the info window and from there you can change the media kind to "TV Show," "Movie," or "Music Video."

  • How do  i rotate a video in I-movie 09?

    here is my dilemna
i shot a video with my t-mobile G1 cell phone
i FORGOT that i had to do it in Landscape and wound up doing it in Portrait mode
then phone has no way of rotateing it
so i did a google search to find out how to rotate the video a quarter turn to the right
everything i found said VIDEO EDITOR, but for the most part it was Windows replies n Mac
so i drug the 3gp file into squared 5 mpeg streamclip and converted it to mpeg4
    then i drug it into i-movie 9
everything good so far....except i cant find in I-Movie where to rotate the video.

highlight the clip...ie yellow box around the one you want to rotate. click the little blue wheel/gear at the beginning of the clip. menu pops...select crop and rotate.
clarification: highlight the clip after you create a project with it!

  • How can I use closed captioning with Netflix movies?

Any help from the community on how to be able to see closed captioning on Netflix movies; works with movies from iTunes?

Hm, Id really like to figure this out also. It bothers me to see my laptop screen out of the corner of my eye using my 30in. Its kind of stupid but, still bothers me.
edit: That was way to easy. Just close the laptop and let the bluetooth mouse wake it back up. I had tried it once before and it didnt work. Maybe I was just to impatient to wait the extra 10 secs.

  • In version 5, how do I use the selection tool to move objects?

I can use the selection tool to select objects, but when I try to drag it, nothing happens. My workaround is to use the selection tool to select an object, and then use the transform tool to drag the object into its new position. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    is your object locked?

  • How do I use just 1 click with move tool (command v) to select layer within group?

    I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Photoshop CS3 10.0.
Is there a way to click just once with "command V" to select a layer within a group?
I used to be able to do it, and on my laptop I can do it now (same OS and Photoshop) but the mac I use for my design work won't do it...I have to also right click and select the layer that is highlighted. I have a many multilayered Photoshop document with lots of groups, and it's an extra time consuming step.
Is there some preference I can turn on? Or some other simple keystroke?
    Thanks so much!

    Glad I could help, Emily

  • How can I use an iPad as a movie camera monitor?

    Hi all.
I'm a pro organist and very often I am pinned to the side of a cathedral wall or in a position
where I can't see the conductor.  I'd love to find a kit where I can fix up a camera into an iPad
that displays the moving image in real time - as in, no delay.  I have to see the conductor's arms
move on screen at exactly the same time as it happens - with no delay or ghosting.
I have an old (8yrs or so) video camera with an AV output which I can plug into an old,
small portable TV screen and that works fine, but it's a lot of kit and caboodle to carry around
and find space for in often small organ lofts!  Anyone have any ideas for a simple camera
into iPad set-up in real time? Thanks.

  • How can I use the scroll wheel to move page by page

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 and I would like to be able to use the scroll wheel in my mouse to move page by page instead of the page icons in the tool bar.  I recently had my computer updated from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I used to be able to do that in XP.  I do a lot of moving around in documents and it's easier to move page by page if I don't have to be moving the cursor all the time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to everything else (like Office 2007 Word) to move whole pages with the scroll wheel, just Acrobat.

Make sure that View - Page Display - Single Page View is selected in
    Acrobat.
