How do I use one account to share purchases with my family

I have an iPod, iPad, and my 2 kids each have an iPod. My oldest now has his own apple I'd so he can iMessage and FaceTime friends. How do I link his to the rest of ours so that we can still share our apps and music purchases? I had previously set up all of the devices under my I'd , since they weren't old enough to have their own. When we try to change the setting to automatic downloads, it states that "the device is already associated with an apple I'd", it then goes on to say that is i turn on the auto downloads with this new I'd that I cannot auto download or download past purchases with a different apple I'd for 90 days. What does this mean?. HELP this Mom, Please!

Just go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and redownload the apps and music by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.

You shouldn't be using the same account on phone iphones. Have him setup his own and make sure his iCloud is logged in with that one

TS1292 I have lost my redeem code for my account balance. How can I use my account balance for purchases?

I have an account balance in the Itunes store. When I try to purchase a book by redeeming part of this balance, the system asks for a Redeem Code.

Once you redeem an iTunes card or gift certificate you no longer need the code. If you see a credit balance in your iTunes Store account, just go ahead and buy what you want. As long as it's not a gift for someone else, the cost will be automatically deducted from your balance.

I want to use same icloud account on 2 iphones. The problem is with contacts, each iphone use different contacts and if I sync both phones with same account contacts mixes and is added from phone 1 in phone 2 and vice versa.
It is an option to separate the contacts and get them to each phone separately?

One iPhone can do it all.
This is a very usual case if someone has a personal phone number and a business phone number. This is done for a number of reasons, including having a separate bill for the business number and so you can avoid taking calls on the business phone when you are technically "unavailable".
Besides the group idea, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having two separate iCloud accounts for one's personal and business use. Just as with the phone number, the email contacts, email account, calendar, etc. can all be kept separate.

Can't share purchases with my family from family share

I Setup family share but we all can't download each others bought apps. you're supposed to find it under purchased apps but I only can see my own bought apps.

My wife and I have seperate iphones (5's) that my son set up for us two years ago. He used one account saying we could share the purchased music. We have never purchased music or paid for apps in the two years since. About a year ago I had a iPad from work and set up my own Apple ID on that account but have since retired and returned it into the company. With the installation of 7.0.4 things changed and all text messages sent from my iPhone arrive as hers (to other apple products) as both phones have the same Apple ID. Can anyone give me help on changing over my iPhone to my own Apple ID? If I delete her Apple Account on my iPhone will it wipe out her entire account, or just on my iPhone? I have already added my own email apple ID to my phone. Will deleting her apple ID on my phone delete all my APPs? Any help would be much appreciated!

If you remove her account from your iPhone, it will only remove the data from your iPhone, the data will remain intact. If you still want to keep the one Apple ID for purchases, you can. Just navigate to Settings > iTunes and App Stores and sign in with the with the Apple ID that you want to share.

Remember, if you share an iCloud account, you won't be able to maintain independent Contact lists, calendars, bookmarks etc. They will all be synced to all devices setup using the same account.

Photostreaming across machines requires to use the same Apple-ID on all of these machines or devices. Share all of iclouds account stuff or nothing at all . No way around as icloud is designed that way. Photostream is not designed as a sort of gallery to share with outsiders. It is for your personal entertainment .

My question today is quite simple. I use one account for apps and tv shows, but inwant to use a different itunes account for purchasing itunes match. How can I use them both on my devices? Will it be asking for my user-pass each time i play a song? What other thing should i consider?

I would strongly recommend you not do this. You will regret it.
I have played with this issue a lot. You have to remain signed into match in order for it to show up on your phone. If you sign out to purchase an app or redownload one from your appstore id you use then match will be removed from your phone and when you go into your music app the icloud will not be there. You then have to go sign back out of the store id you used for your app purchase and then sign back into match and everything will have to go though the download to your device process again. This really is not what you want to do.
Sign up to match with the apple id that you know you will use the most or has the most purchased items and use that for all purchases, i.e. books, apps, movies, and music. You don't want to go though the other process.
Plus apple will start not letting you sign into match because you signed out and back in, in to short a period of time.
all store purchases on an iphone are linked to the store id. if you sign out of your match id on the appstore and sign into another account to purchase an app then itunes match will sign out in the music app. You can't have two store id's signed into your iphone at the same time. They are all linked together.

at the prompt:
sudo chmod -R +a "<user> allow list,addfile,search,delete,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr, writeextattr,readsecurity,file_inherit,directoryinherit" /User/<user_name> #yep, all that goes on one line!#
#Replace <user> with the user name that you want to have file/folder privileges#
#Replace <user_name> with the account you want to process#

#sue now gets full access to joe's files and folders#

You can add as many users as you want! Just lather, rinse repeat. That is how I share my itunes
directory with the ones I want to share it with.
That's the simplest way. ACL permissions overrule posix permissions.

Disregard the question. The solution has nothing to do with any "Firefox bug". Turns out that my session wasn't being managed properly. Or rather, I was accidentally deleting other users' information when new users logged in. So if I had user 1 and user 2, and user 2 logged in after user 1, some of user 1's information would be deleted, resulting in the errors.
Oops; sorry about the false alarm. :)
(Was hoping to retract the question, but it looks like others have a similar problem.)
