How do I use parentheses instead of dashes when exporting in Lightroom?

I don't always want to replace a photo without warning. Sometimes I like to see the photos side by side. Windows convention uses parantheses for different versions of an image, which keeps the jpegs together and separate from tiffs or other raw images. But Lightroom uses a dash so I get, for example, 20120101-1.jpg. I need it to be 20120101 (1).jpg

You can't.

    Phillip,
    I agree with you. However, if we take a trip in the "wayback machine" to the big forum changeover (can it really be that long ago?), I was BILL HUNT. Notice that everything is in all caps, because I'd had this one, from the earliest days of Adobe on the Internet. That was what the OS's of the day did.
    The forum changeover happened, and out of almost nowhere, the_wine_snob surfaced. Immediately, I went to change this back to BILL HUNT, or the updated, Bill Hunt. Could not do it. Both names were taken. In 2.5 days? I could not believe this. I had filled in the little info screen, prior to the changeover, with all data - same e-dress, same screen name, etc.. With the fora down for those few days, and me logging in as soon as they came up, how could others get my name? Must be a lot of BILL HUNT's in OZ, or NZ!!! Believe me, I tried. I had never posted to any Adobe forum, even back to the NTTP-only days, as other than BILL HUNT. Gone. Still, I try to sign every post with "Hunt."
    I hear you, but many seemed to get caught in the same "trickbag," as I was.
    At least with this screen name, if I hit a few keys incorrectly, or mis-remember something in a product forum, the readers can "fill in the blanks." Too much wine...
    Hunt

  • How do I use a Creative Cloud license when I have limited Internet for months at a time?

    How do I use a Creative Cloud license when I have limited Internet for months at a time?  I proces a lot of photos in remote areas where an application that needs online access would be useless.

    Hi Freewill,
    Please see the Creative Cloud FAQ here.
    Do I need ongoing Internet access to use my Adobe® Creative Cloud™ desktop applications?
    No. Your Creative Cloud desktop applications (such as Adobe® Photoshop® and Illustrator®) are installed directly on your computer, so you won't need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis.
    An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your desktop apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
    For annual members, you can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode.
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Todd,
    Just for kicks can you Remote Desktop onto the MII server and try to ping both your MS and AS hosts?  Then I would try to verify that the communication port is actually open across the network, a quick and dirty method is to from the Command Prompt of the MII server use the telnet command:
    telnet server port
    If the screen goes blank then you will know that the port traffic is acceptable between the servers, otherwise you will get a connection error message back and you can blame the firewall for the issue.
    Thanks,

  • How do I use a MouseListener to act when an imageIcon is pressed (NOT Jb)?

    I want to make an image a button (NOT a JButton), as the image says something like "Click me for help".
    How do I take advantage of the MouseListener class/methods so that I can perform an action when the image is clicked?
    I'm sure there's a way to find out the pixel coordinates when mouse1 is clicked and I could do it from there, any idea's upon getting the coordinates?
    Any source of direction is appreciated.

    So, if anyone could figure that one out I would be more then happy to give 2 additional duke stars to you. Now, as I mentioned before there must be a way to use e.getSource() when mouse1 and store the coordinates so then I just simply use an if statement to check if that part of the image has been pressed. The only problem, how do I get the coordinates of mouse1 when pressed?
    Oh how I enjoy complicating things. :)

    Not sure if this is what you are looking for...

  • How do I maintain bookmarks in multiple documents when exporting a book file to PDF?

    I am using a book file to organize 10 individual indesign documents. Each document has its own set of bookmarks and links, and their are links that go to other documents within the book as well. How do I (using CS3) print my book file to PDF while maintaining all the interactive components? I want my complete list of bookmarks to appear within the bookmark pane, and I want all of the interactive links in the document to work when they are clicked in the PDF. Doing this for one document is simple, set the preferences to enable the bookmarks and links. However, none of these PDF export settings seem to work when printing the entire book.
    Help!

    I had it open, just wasn't looking in the right spot. Found it... thanks a bundle. This has made my day... as long as the bookmarks work when I export.
    Thanks!

  • How can i include css in html file when exported

    I want the CSS should be included in the html file when exported, how is that posable?

    Muse follows its own structure and keeps HTML, CSS and JS code in separate files as and when possible. If you want all that code to be merged into the HTML file itself, then there is no option to force Muse to do that. You can however, add your own CSS code into the HTML page by adding the CSS using either the Insert HTML option or using the HTML for <head> option in Page Properties > Metadata.

  • How to preserve or embedded history in photo when exporting?

    Does anyone know how to preserve a photo develop history when exporting to new folder so that editing can continue?

    Thanks Jim and DJ - perhaps my process needs to change. I use a folder structure within each photo shoot.  Capture (for all raw files) - Master (for working photos that are being edited / developed) - and finally an Output folder for photos being printed or posted to web etc. I export to each. I understand that you can always go back to the original raw capture or any point in the history but sometimes I want to compare different editions of develop settings for an image against each other while preserving both. When using a copy of an image the develop settings only start at time of copy and likewise when using an exported image the history starts from the export going forward
    What I want to do is take photos from the various Master folders that have develop changes to them and move or copy them to another folder; as example a "2015 Art Show folder" for an upcoming photo exhibit etc. and then do additional develop changes specific for the Art Show  - being able to see the previous develop settings would be useful during this edit phase and you could continue to work in the one folder without needing to hunt around to numerous folders all over Lightroom
    I hope that explains what I am trying to do, I appreciate any ideas you may have
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • How do I get the content to match when exporting pages document to word?

    How do I get the content to match when I export a pages document to word format?

    You simply cannot get an absolutely identical export, in any app to any app. Exporting from one app to another means converting/parsing code, therefore the result cannot be identical. In order to have control over your final result, use PDF export. If you need a closer compatibility with Word, use OpenOffice or LibreOffice. I would not bet that Word for Mac would presserve identical page setting if file is created in windows, or vice-versa.

  • How to add separating line between facing pages when exporting to PDF

    Hello,
    I've searched a lot and could not find an answer to my question...
    I'm creating several multi-page documents with facing (left-right) pages. After that I export these to PDF. I use the same setting for all my files and same settings for exporting.
    But one of the documents when exported doesn't have a separating line between the left and right pages and they seem to be one. How can I add this separating line?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Peter, thanks you for your reply. If I understand correctly what you are saying, I would say this is not the case, because both are exported as spreads and both are displayed 1-up. Please see attached screenshots - first two show exporting options and second two show how it will look in Acrobat if both are displayed 2-up.

  • How do I get closed captions to play when exported, nothing is working (embedding, side files etc)

    I can't seem to get my closed caption track to play when exported, since my film is in german it is completely essential, none of the side files work with quicktime or vlc and neither does embedding it

    First off, media players like QuickTime and VLC do not play sidecars. I believe sidecars are used for broadcasting and possibly for writing to DVD.
    As for the embedded captions, a few questions:
    What is the type of the caption stream? Only CEA 608 can be embedded into QuickTime clips.
    In QuickTime, have you enabled caption display?
    If you import the QuickTime clip with embedded captions back into Premiere Pro, are the captions present?

  • Use Metadata Title as Filename When Exporting

    Is there a way to use the metadata title as the export filename when exporting ?? If not, there should be !

    It already can do this. Simply go into the list of filename presets, choose Edit, and built your own preset - making sure to include "Title" from the top Metadata drop down list somewhere in your renaming pattern.

  • How do you use classlib instead of taglib?

    Hi!
    Perhaps a very novice-like question but I just don't know what to do. I'm trying to build a tree and want to use the function where you can click a treenode. The problem is that there is no tag for this but you have to use "setOnNodeClick" in the classlib instead. In the "PDK-portal" see "Examples/HTML Business Controls/" and then "Tree". Choose "Documentation" and in the new window "Tree.jsp". There you will see a complete jsp-file that will work as it is. If you then chose "Control API for Tree" you will see the controls for Tree and another code example for both taglib and classlib. The problem is that they are not complete and don't show how to incorporate the classlib. Is it used in a jsp file what so ever or in the dynPage??? If used in jsp file, is there any equivalent classlib-things to the content and page tags? And the line "Form form=(Form)this.getForm(); naturally renders an error since there is no such method in the example! I would like to see a full example in order to understand this.
    Regards
    Benny

    You can use the classlib functions in either your java code or in the jsp.
    Here is an example of using the classlib in jsp for the button control
    <hbj:form id="myDisplayResultsFormId">
         <hbj:button id="buttonNewSearch"
                text="New Search"
                width="50"
                onClick="onButtonNewSearchClicked"
         >
         <% myDisplayResultsFormId.setDefaultButton(buttonNewSearch);  %>
         </hbj:button>
    </hbj:form>
    note the classlib function comes before the end of the button control but outside the button def.
    Under the htmlb documentation you can access the control API which will list all of the taglib and classlib usages showing the equivalents. there is almost always an equivalent classlib for each taglib but there are lots of classlib methods without equivalent taglib entries.
    Hope this helps
