How do I use the „Apple Mail To Do" Folder on multiple Macs?

Hi,
I'm using the Apple Mail To Do Folder respectively the "To Do" function in mail on my iMac and my MacBook. I will find To Dos created on the MacBook in the "Apple Mail To Do" Folder on my iMac, but the iMac doesn't show these To Dos in the associated mails. Same happens for To Dos created on the iMac when I try to use them with the MacBook. Any hint?

Turning the mail account off does not really solve this problem. All the snooper has to do if the mail account is turned off is to turn it back on, read messages and then turn it off again.
If the Apple mail works like other mail systems, you can mark read messages as unread. Then you really won't have any way of knowing that your messages were read already.
The simple solution is (wondering why Apple has not implemented it) is to remove the password in the Mail settings so that each time the Mail is opened, it will ask for a username and password.

We use the Apple mail server to get e-mails from our gmail and comcast mail accounts. Recently we have been getting spam that claims to be sent to a gmail address, but when I check that address directly, there is no such e-mail. ???

Is it possible to bypass the gmail account and send directly to the Apple mail server, spoofing the gmail address?

If you are referring to AirPlay Mirroring, it requires OS X Mountain Lion or Mavericks and a Mid 2011 or newer MacBook Air, so you cannot use it and you will not see the AirPlay icon. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404

How do i use the apple tv remote app to navigate the apple tv?

Hi everyone,
I've been given an apple tv remote from my step father. I couldn't honestly tell you which model I'm afraid. He's lost the remote.
I've managed to get the apple tv turned on using a youtube that explaned how to set up with an ethernet cable. I can even airplay stuff from my itunes. However I want to pair my existing remote and I can't work out for the life of me how I use the apple tv remote app to navigate whilst on the apple tv main menu.
There's just no option to do this, despite the youtube vid seemingly doing it. Has a previous update of the app rendered this featured obselete?
Some clarity or help on how I can navigate the apple tv using either my iphone or macbook would be great. That way I can pair my existing tv remote for future use.

I made a text box and tried typing some text with Times NR so I could see what I'm typing. But when I tried changing the font to any of the Braille fonts they just appeared as boxes. How do I use braille in my photobook?

"Braille" is not simply "A..Z, but then drawn as dots". All Braille characters have a Unicode of their own: http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2800.pdf, and, as explained on Wikipedia (Braille Patterns - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), they do not immediately 'translate' to a single character.
So the answer is, you should not type text, you should insert Braille characters. The font is behaving as it should.
You can use Find/Change to change one character at a time (after all, you won't need all of them), or ask someone in the Scripting Forum to write you a custom script. Make sure to provide a list of character translations as well.

Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
If the original drive in the newer Mac is a Western Digital, its jumpers may be set to Single, which WD drives often use when there is only one device on the bus. When a second drive is added, the jumpers on the original must be reset to Master.
OS 9's utility is named Drive Setup - you should find it in the Utilities folder on the hard drive. Run that. Select the added hard drive in the list, then select Mount Volume from the Functions menu.
You can also check with that utility to see if the OS believes the drive has been set to automount at boot. Again, select the drive in the list. Then select Volume Settings from the Functions menu - there's a checkbox in that screen to set automount (for freshly initialized drives, that's turned on by default).
Also, try running Disk First Aid (should also be in the Utilities folder). Let it have a look at the second drive, and repair anything it can.
Apple System Profiler should report the format of all drives it sees. Is the format of the drive from the old Mac stated as Mac OS Standard, or as Mac OS Extended?

How Can I use the Apple time capsule on another network?

I have just swapped out Virgin Broadband for BT broadband (BT infinity - BT HOMEHUB 3 wireless device)
I would like to reconfigure my Time capsule so that I can use it as part of my new wireless network (as a wireless back-up device).. but not use the router part of it.
I believe this is possible? Am currently using 10.7.5 of OS X.
Can you please let me know what steps I need to follow? (I am happy to start again if need be).

You cannot use the extend option with another brand router.. so the above will not work with the BThub. And WDS btw is now not used on the TC or apple routers.. haven't ever since N wireless came out.. the above article is for G wireless routers of yesteryear.
The best way to do it is bridge the TC.. that is router bridge not wireless bridge.. and simply plug it by ethernet into the BT hub.
You can then setup wireless however you want.. it can reinforce the existing wireless. Simply use the same name (SSID) and security setting.. (should be WPA2 Personal ie AES).. and passkey.. but if you want to make it sure, then lock the wireless channels. This is called a roaming network.

How do I change the apple ID linked to iBooks in a mac?

I recently purchased a new Macbook Air and I gave my old one to my brother. While setting the old mac for him, I wasn't able to unlink iBooks from my Apple ID, and link it to my brother's. This was fairly easy to do with all other apps (Facetime, iMessage, iCloud, etc), but not with iBooks. I tried to do this in "Preferences", but there was no field or command to change user for iBooks. I also looked inmy account's settings using the iBooks store link, but the fields allowed me to edit my own Apple ID instead of logging out and log back in with my brother's ID.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

In iBooks pull down the Store menu > Deauthorize this Mac. Then pull down Store > Sign Out.

1. Need to select your preferred method of emailing (Mail, iPhoto, Aperture, whatever) in the Preferenes
2. If you're getting password not recognised messages, then delete your account from whatever email method you are using and re enter it.

How can I use the iPad as a sound source for my Mac?

I would like to be able to record sound off my iPad, onto my Mac. (I'm using a musical app that only allows me to save short recordings, so I would like to plug my iPad into my Mac and record the music into my Mac, into Audacity or something.)
I know you can't just connect the iPad from the headphone jack, so I'm wondering what equipment I would need.
I've heard that the iPad camera connector can be used to export audio out, does anyone know how that works?
Or, are there any iPad apps available that will make exportable sound recordings of any sounds your iPad is making (from any other app?) You know, like a screen shot, but for sound instead?
(BTW, I am not interested in streaming music from my iPad. I already know how to do that. I'm trying to export audio from a musical instrument app I'm using.)

Answering part of my own question: it ISN'T possible to record audio on the iPad from one app to another. Technically not possible, so there are no apps that serve this purpose.
So, I'm still looking for details on how to connect my iPad to my Mac and use it as a sound source. I would like to record directly onto my Mac whatever sounds my iPad is outputting, by connecting the iPad to the Mac's audio input in some way.
