How do I use the parental control of my dlink router over firefox?

I have a Dlink DIR-605L router which has parental control. I tried restricting certain websites but it doesnt seem to affect Mozilla Firefox. How do I go about this?

If the router has a way of recognizing Firefox traffic this may be possible?

I have/had the same problem, just started this morning. I tried a system restore to a known good date. I still had the problem so I rolled restored the system to the latest.
Thinking that it might have something to do with priviliges, I reviewed my user account and noticed it was set to "Administrator". On a whim, I switched my user account from administrator to "standard user" and I'll be... the issue dissapeared. I have no idea why. But I thought I'd pass it along.

I used the parental controls and now safari won't appear on the children's desktop.

Can anybody help please?? I created a separate user account for my children so I could control their time on the computer as well as what websites they visit and now when they log in, Safari is not present on their dashboard nor can they access the internet. Anybody have any ideas?

How do I use the Scintilla control?

I'm assuming at least some people on here must have experience of the Scintilla control for creating a Notepad++ type application. I'd like to use this control, unfortunately there is very little in the way of documentation or working examples around
and as such I am totally stuck!
I'm not even going to post any code as I am nowhere near anything worthy of critique. Rather I will just explain what I want to achieve and hopefully somebody will be able to post a snippet of code which will do the job and I can take it from there.
First, I want to control this with code rather than an xml file so that it is easier to adjust dynamically. So, my wishlist is:
1) Create five keyword lists and five styles (just different colours for now). Assign one style to each keyword list so that any word in that list is styled accordingly. The comment prefix is // and comments should be in green.
2) If one of my keywords is, for instance, ScintillaNET and I just type scintillanet, it should capitalize automatically as per the keyword in the list.
3) Where I have multiple keywords beginning with the same letters, I should get a list of possible words come up, much like an enumeration in vb.net.
4) Finally, it would be nice to be able to set the line number of my first line - for instance if I am using pages and I am viewing page 2 I might want to display just lines 101-200 and of course I would then want the line numbers to be 101-200 not 1-100, so
I will want to set the first line to 101.
I dare say that once you know how to use Scintilla the above can all be achieved in little more than a few seconds with just a few lines of code and it will all look really obvious. So it would be fantastic if somebody could help me out here!

So my dad put parental controls on my new MacBook Air and the pop ups for it are really annyoing amd pop up on pages that aren't even inappropriate. He refuses to take it down and expects me to find out how sooner or later. Can someone help?

Turning off in-app purchases and the App Store itself would be the best bet for you. You can always unlock these features as needed and lock them again.
Apart from restricting purchases, there are a number of other restrictions you can setup. You can even setup a safe browser with remote parental controls from the App Store, like the one from Mobicip. You may find this tutorial to be helpful: How to setup Parental Controls on the iPad.

unless i'm missing something, i think you got mixed up, this is easy google for walk throughs
i'm assuming this is the new 3tb tc AC or 'tower' shape, if so, its wifi will run circles around your at&t device
unplug the at&t box for a minute and plug it back in
factory reset your tc - unplug it, hold down reset and keep holding while you plug it back in - only release reset when amber light flashes in 10-20s
connect the tc to your at&t box via eth in the wan port, wait 1 minute, open airport utility look in 'other wifi devices' to setup the tc
create a new wifi network (give it a different name than your at&t one) and put the tc in bridge mode (it may do this automatically for you, but you should double check) under the 'network' tab
login to your at&t router and disable wifi on it
add new clients to the new wifi network, and point your Macs to the time machine for backups

The time limits on the parental controls do not work. Apple does not seem to know how to fix this issue since the problem has been going on since at least leopard.

The time limits in the parental controls do not work. I have several mac systems and they do not work on all of them. Also, I have had this problem since at least snow leopard and it is very frustrating that Apple is unable to fix a simple issue like this. All they have to do is somehow 'hard-wire' the time limits to the system clock but they are not listening. I used the feed-back feature in their support webpage and hopefully everybody else experiencing this issue will too. Thus, if they get a thousand notes on this issue they might listen and finally fix it.

Well, the whole system with those time limits are funky. Sometime this happens, sometime that happens. When the user is on the bed time limits do not work nor do the length of time limits. It is very frustrating as one of the reasons I bought an apple in the first place was those parental controls which did not exist in Windows prior to Windows 7. I do have a Windows 7 machine now and the bed time limits work there. Maybe you have a Windows 7 machine as well and can let them use it.

A screen can contain a wide variety of elements, either for displaying field contents, or for allowing the user to interact with the program (for example, filling out input fields or choosing pushbutton functions). You use the Screen Painter to arrange elements on the screen.
You can use the following elements:
·        Text fields
Display elements, which cannot be changed either by the user or by the ABAP program.
·        Input/output fields and templates
Used to display data from the ABAP program or for entering data on the screen. Linked to screen fields.
·        Dropdown list boxes
Special input/output fields that allow users to choose one entry from a fixed list of possible entries.
·        Checkbox elements
Special input/output fields that the user can either select (value X) or deselect (value SPACE). Checkbox elements can be linked with function codes.
·        Radio button elements
Special input/output fields that are combined into groups. Within a radio button group, only a single button can be selected at any one time. When the user selects one button, all of the others are automatically deselected. Radio button elements can be linked with function codes.

You can also use the command field in the standard toolbar to enter the OK field. To be able to use the OK field, you need to assign a name to it.
All screen elements have a set of attributes, some of which are set automatically, others of which have to be specified in the Screen Painter. They determine things such as the layout of the screen elements on the screen. You can set the attributes of screen elements in the Screen Painter - either for a single element, or using the element list, which lists all of the elements belonging to the current screen. Some of the attributes that you set statically in the Screen Painter can be overwritten dynamically in the ABAP program.

Yes there is. I suggest trolling these boards for the 3rd party remote solutions that will free you to use the remote in ANY application like Winamp, Notepad, Windows Media Player, etc.

1st option
Try to log on on an another admin account on your Machine and change that.
2nd option
if there is no other admin you have to create a new user as an admin.

How old is your daughter?
Is it possible she has seen you type your password, and given herself admin rights? Or used your user_id when you stepped away from the computer?
If so, you will need to do one or more of:
a) change your password. This leaves you open to having her watch and take the new password. You can also "require password after nnn minutes of screensaver" in System Preferences > Security
b) add a new Admin with a new password. use it ONLY for Administration. Log in to it and demote your own Account to a non-Admin. Then go back to your own account, which cannot be used to add privileges. When you want to install something, you will type the Admin username and password.
c) have a deeply serious discussion about building TRUST and giving her increasing responsibilities toward becoming a free-standing responsible adult.
