I am travelling to Malawi this month for 1 month. I will need some form of communication out there. I expect I will probably buy a phone and international SIM whilst I'm there, but before I do so I wanted to explore what I can do with my current plan. I am on an EE Regular 2gb plan. Unlimited minutes and texts within the UK and 2gb data. I have no roaming minutes/texts as part of my plan. So my questions are: What add-ons are available so that I can use my phone in Malawi (Africa)? - I have had a brief look on the website, but these seem to only go up to 120 minutes, which is not a great deal and I would need more. Also I don't currently have my phone insured. If I was to get it insured through EE would it cover me against theft - whilst in Africa or anywhere else for that matter? I could buy an international SIM now, but assume my iPhone is locked to EE? Thanks for any help!

Disable all addons by going to Tools -> Addons and clicking the disable button in every entry under Extensions or Plugins panels.
Restart Firefox.
Confirm the problem isnt there.
Enable each addon one by one by going to Tools -> Addons and clicking the enable button in every entry under Extensions or Plugins panels, in such a way that each time you enable ONE addon, you RESTART the browser and see if the problem STILL happens.
AS SOON AS the problem happens, disable the last addon you enabled. That one is the culprit. You can now enable all the others, if needed.

What add-ons are you wanting to migrate? Plug-ins should work, with the caveat that the Mac version is 64-bit only for CS6. So if you were running the 32-bit of CS5.5 with a 32-bit plug-in, then that won't migrate. Panel extensions might need a small modification. Scripts should work unless they specifically target CS5.5.
Are you having problems, or just trying to research before trying the beta build?

I got update 23 and then it cks if all add ons are ok. But every time I turn firefox on it keeps recking if add ona are good. How do i stop firefox from cking??

Hello I got update 23 and when it finished and restarts it cks all my add on's and then its ready to finish updating. but this update the cking for good add ons keeps scanning each time i turn on firefox. so the 1st part of the 2 part scans ok but when it scans the 2ed part to ck add ons it does not finish and just goes away so then every time i turn on friefox it keeps doing this instead of laoding my home page firefox keeps opening up and then the firefox home page opens when i have my home page set to open up my yahoo acct. how do i get 23 update to stop scanning my 10 add ons and will then finish installing so my windows 8 laptop will get past this problem?? I hope U can tell me what to do and all my add ons are ok and my extensions are all good too!! thanks for helping me??

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

How to find out if my add-ons are compatible with new firefox version before i install?

Is there a way to discover whether any of my current add-ons will be disabled/incompatible *Before* I upgrade to a newer version of Firefox?
Whenever I've updated Firefox, I haven't found out until After the new version is installed that my favorite 'must-have' add-on is incompatible and there is no viable/satisfactory alternative to it. The loss of Certain add-ons is, for me, a deal-breaker to upgrading. And it's a royal pain to downgrade to the previous version to retrieve my add-on.
I don't know if addiction to particular add-on(s) is common - I figure I can't be the only one . . . ?
It would be So helpful if there were a database or list that shows which add-ons are/are not compatible with which versions of Firefox. Is there such a thing? If not, could one be created?

Firefox 9.0.1 is a real old version and is no longer supported - Firefox 24.0 is the current release version.
Open the Add-0ns manager tab and click on '''More''' for each extension that you have installed. Near the bottom of each "More" there should be a link that will take you to the download page where you can verify compatibility.
Or use this extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/ - but I'm not sure how well it will work when you are so many versions 'behind the curve'.

I discovered today that the list of add-ons disappeared, but all add-ons are working normally. How can I access the list of extensions?

I'm running MacOS 10.6.8 and Firefox 5.0.1. When I open Tools->Add Ons, the list of extensions is empty. This happened after I restarted Firefox after having it running for a couple of days. Since then FlagFox reports a "missing IPDB", but I#m not sure if this is related.

Unfortunately the problem is that clicking on the extensions icon as you propose only brings up an empty add-on list, so there is no chance to uninstall FlagFox (it says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed", see also the attached image). As mentioned, all other add-ons are running well.
Is there any other way to access the add-on? I'm not afraid of the command line btw. ;-)

After updating to Firefox 4 from 3.6 on my mac OS X, my bookmarks and add/ons are gone. Can't restore bookmarks either.

Some add-ons are missing in the tools menu and / or modules and navigation bar

I am running Firefox 20 FRENCH (this is maybe important as all of this below does not appear with the EN version...) on MacOSX 10.6.8.
Symptoms :
- Web Developer toolbar not displayed anymore.
- Xmarks add-ons not displayed in the module bar.
- Icons of other add-ons displayed in the navigation bar ONLY after the first firefox opening i.e. just after system restart. If firefox is closed and re-opened, all the add-ons icons are lost.

Fixes attempts (tried almost everything...) :

- Uninstall Firefox (with profiles folder, cache folders, etc...) then reinstall : no effect
- The only thing that is working is using the ENGLISH version...
This is really annoying because as a web developer I really need the Web Developer extension.
Does anyone has an idea of how to fix this ?

All of my add-ons are gone!

Recently I had to do a system restore to get rid of a virus on my laptop. It worked, but now all of my add-ons are gone. (These were add-ons I've had for a long time, well before the time I restored my system to.) The one I'm most concerned about is Read It Later, since it had several months worth of links.
Just today I downloaded Firefox 3.6.13, in hopes a new version of Firefox would fix this problem. It didn't. When I go to c:\documents and settings\<your name>\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles\73v5v5m4.default\extensions I can see my add-ons with read it later listed as isreaditlater@ideashower(2).com, but they don't show up when I look under tools\add-ons. I'm using Windows XP and the latest version of Flash, and AVG 2011 for my anti-virus.
At the very least, what can I do to get RIL back, ideally with all of my old links? If I have to re-download RIL, is there some way to save all of my old links?

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button (in Firefox 4: right-click the extension -> "Find Updates") to do a compatibility check.

I was using Firefox 8, and then today i noticed that non of the JS scripts are working, the Add-on are not showing after a click, The Firebug button at the top right is missing,
Thinking if I upgrade to 9 it will solve my problems, but it did not. How can I correct this? Am I missing something?

In the attachments you found a table with Technical usages - add on.
When you select your technical usages then appear add-on that will be upgrade.
