How do I view imported pictures in file name order?

I have an extensive picture library on my NAS which I would like to see on my iPad and/or AppleTV. I have made folders available for viewing and I've also imported some actual JPEG files to the iPad using iTunes. Try as I might, I cannot get these files to display in file name order (they are all named by date and time). Is there a way?

Not using the built in photos app. You'll need to search for a third party app. I'm afraid I don't have any to recommend because I've never looked for any, but the default for the built in app is to sort by date/event.

If you mean backed up as part of an iPhone backup in iTunes?  If so, you would have to use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup, such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

How can I view the pictures that I saved in my MacBook Pro's iPhoto to my iPad? I read you can do it through iTunes, but how?

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do I view IOS system log files on my iPhone?

I'm getting occasional buzzes on my iPhone when it is in silent mode, but it's not obvious where the buzzes are coming from. How can I view the IOS log files on the phone to figure out which application is generating the alerts?

    Hey Steve,
You'll want to connect your phone to your computer and sync it in iTunes. You can read more about it here:

  • How can I view my 6D raw files before I open them in post processing?

How can I view my 6D raw files after I load them on my computer & before I open them on a post processing Program?
I have no problem doing that with my 1DX,1DIV or 5Dmk III. This problem exist with any sdhc card I use on the 6D, but not on any other camera with the same cards.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Your computer doesn't have camera RAW support installed for a 6D.  RAW isn't really a standard-format... it's more of a concept.  Every individual camera has it's own unique RAW format (even though they all have the same .CR2 extension).
Each time a new camera comes out, companies that make RAW processing software will make an update available that adds that camera.  You'll need to get that update and install it.

  • How can I get imported pictures from my ipad 3 to my laptop?

Pretty much what the quetions states - "How can I get imported pictures from my ipad 3 to my laptop?"
I've imported a load of pics from my Nikon D40 to my iPad 3 (ios 6.1) using the iPad camera connector.
    So far so good.
However I cannot sync the pictures to my laptop (win 7).  I would like to be able to keep the albums I have created, and get them to the laptop too.
If a restore was required I might lose thee pics.
Any advice or apps recommended to help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve Potter

To copy photos to your computer that were copied to it via the camera connection kit (or taken with it or saved from emails/websites) then see this page (as far as I know you can't copy their albums) - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard

How do I avoid importing MS Word file duplicates in Pages for Ipad 2?

    Hi Cabrinii,
The sign on the door is a bit misleading, and you're not the first (or even the first in the last hour or so) to come to this Pages (Mac version) forum to ask a question about Pages for iOS.
Not many of us use iPad, so your question will be better served in the iWork for iOS community. The link will take you there.

How do I view my pictures that are in my iCloud?

If you mean PhotoStream, this is purely a conduit for shunting photos taken on one device onto all the others: its contents are not viewable online.

  • Use edit import picture from file to paste .bmp file into diagram

i am using labview 5.0.1 on a concurrent power MAX. I have a bunch of .bmp files in a separate unix directory. in labview, i open a new VI, choose edit > import picture from file and choose one of the .bmp files but nothing goes to the clipboard.
    what am i doing wrong??

Import picture from file places it in the clipboard. After importing Edit > Paste to put it on the diagram.

  • How to import songs by file name (not by song name)

    Hi
I've got many files with different names yet they all have same song name (the website precisely!!!). When I import them into iTunes, all of them appear with same song name (such as www.apple.com). Is there anyway I can import them by file name as song name???
    Thanks

iTunes uses the id3 tags, not the file name to determine the information that is displayed. There is no way that I know of to change this. Are you saying the songs have the same title, artist name, and album name but they're different songs?
Check out Doug's Scripts. There may be something useful there.
