How do I view mov files in my iPad2

I have taken some hd videos and have some mov files that I want to view on my iPad2. I downloaded the files in my ipad2 and the file shows as a mov file but I can not open them. What is the best option to view these files in the ipad2.

Copied from this link.
http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
Being a .mov file alone may not be enough.
If these videos can be opened/viewed with iTunes on your computer, try the following. Select a video in iTunes and at the iTunes menu bar go to Advanced and select Create iPad or Apple TV Version. This will duplicate the existing video in an iPad or Apple TV Version. Select this version to be transferred to your iPad.

How can I view my .mov spherical panoramas on my ipad?

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do I view .mov files taken with a Canon 60D on my iPad?

I am trying to view video files taken by my Canon 60D on my new iPad. I copied the files from my camera to my PC, then tried to transfer them to the iPad using iTunes. iTunes displays a message stating that the files were not copied to the device because they are not compatible. The files appear to be H.264, 1080, 30fps which the iPad should support (according to http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/).
Did I try to transfer the files incorrectly or is there another issue that I am running into?

This does not answer the question at all. I don't want to organize it by note, I just want to be able to see the "whole" note. Sometimes the whole note is displayed and sometimes it isn't. I have a calendar event/meeting that was entered in Outlook. That meeting will include information that is pertinent to the meeting. When I look at the meeting on my iPhone, the information in the note, will not display. The first 3 lines might be there and the rest is cut off.

  • How do I view "TOD. file format" on my Mac

    Hi,
My problem: How do I view "TOD. file format" on my MacPro Book?
I am a marine scientist, working on very small marine animals, my research methods is to record these animals swimming and then track their movement with image tracking software.
    Equipment:
+ 3 x JVC GZ-HD7 Cameras which records in true 1920x1080i video, storing files in .TOD file format.
+ MacBook Pro + huge external hard-drive to handle these files.
    + Final Cut Express
The Hard-drive of the cameras is full and I need to download the footage, so I can record more experiments.
I’ve tried to backing up footage on the JVC DVD Burner, CU-VC40.
But when I try to view this on the Mac, there is the same problem with the .TOD file format.
I’ve tried installing the QuickTime component for Everio = no difference.
    Any help would be great!!!!
I understand biology and computers & tech is starting to give me a headache.
    Thanks!!

    Hello everybody,
first of all I wanna thank the founders for that great forum. Found interesting information here.
Hopefully I'll help with some data and have some questions at the same time.
After researching several communities I use MPEG SC 1.9 to convert the TOD files. There was a little disturbance, either to convert to HDV or AIC. Hopefully my little test will display the difference:
TOD file 39.7 MB in 1920x1080
DV file 46.3 MB in roughly 1.5 min
adjustments within MSC...Format: DV Stream(PAL, Interlaced,16:9, Audio rate 48000khz), scale Interlaced, color re-interlace, upper pic first
-> FCP no render for Video necessary
-> hopefully I got all menue options halfway right. Apparently I'm not US and use a german version
MOV file 143.6 MB with Apple Intermediate Codec in exactly 1 min
adjustments within MSC...Format: Quicktime Export, Compression AIC, Audio uncompressed, 1920x1080, scale Interlaced, color re-interlace, upper pic first
-> FCP rencer for Video necessary
-> hopefully that's the codec everybody means, when talking AIC !?
    General FCP question here:
I've set it to HDV 1080i 50 and then imported the files to the project. Apparently the movie in the canvas (100% size) should be huge, a lot of scrolling bars. But it isn't. It's a little bit bigger than the canvas or viewer window and the picture isn't that clear.
Same thing with the TOD file in Mpeg SC. It's not crystal clear, far away from expectations. Cars in city limits seem to have stripes while in motion. The frame size doesn't fit. It should be bigger than my smaller display can display.
Here's the info out of Mpeg SC:
    Stream: MOV001.TOD
    Pfad: ~/Movies/MOV001.TOD
    Typ: MPEG transport stream
    Dauer: 0:00:13
    Datenmenge: 39.73 MB
    Bit Rate: 24.66 Mbps
    Video Spuren:
    4113 MPEG-2, 1920 × 1080, 16:9, 29.97 fps, 28.00 Mbps, oberes Halbbild zuerst
    Audio Spuren:
    4129 MP2 stereo, 48 kHz, 384 kbps
    Stream Dateien:
    MOV001.TOD (39.73 MB)
Why is the 1920x1080 not the size it should be ? Honestly, if that s the quality from a daylight shot I will sell that camcorder right away and buy a PAL system mini DV for half the price. It's bad !
I've chosen Apple FCP unkompr. 8-Bit 4:2:2 in MSC.
    At least I got a 1920x1080 picture/movie. But what does 8Bit 4:2:2 mean ?
Is that what all of you do ? Guess not.
22 sec of movie 78.7 MB big turn out to 2.55 GB !!!
Still the quality isn't that great. Would someone please help me with the parameters in MSC to convert ? That would be awesome.
Lowlight quality of the camcorder is really bad. One bulp and it's spooky dark. But that's not that bad, if at least perfect lid scenes would be great.
I still wait for those super color pics

Your question has nothing to do with ichat -  not sure why you posted in the ichat forum.
Just sync them from itunes to your ipod, if your ipod is capable of playing videos ( you did not mention which ipod you have).

After downloading a pdf from a website, how can I view the file in Safari 6.0.4 (just as I can in Safari 5.0.6)?  I bet that it's simple, but I've missed something, somewhere, and a solution will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Kirk,
Thank's for your efforts, and I just wish that this was the solution.  Unfortunately, it isn't because, after double-clicking on the pdf in the website, it simply "opens" in another Safari window as a black screen - the pdf is there, somewhere, but not visible (either as an icon, or as a document).
When I right-click in the black Safari window, where the file is supposed to be, the only option available to display the file is to "Open file in Internet Explorer" (which is not what I want to do).  Other options include saving or printing the pdf, which I don't want until I've confirmed that it's the form that I want.  The same options are offered if I right-click on the file icon in the website.
    Any other suggestions, please?

  • Using Aperture 3 and Lion I can no longer view .mov file

Using Aperture 3 and Lion I can no longer view .mov files from a Canon G11. I get a thumbnil which is a triangle with !. If I right click I can open it with Quick time. I cannot import any of the files into iMovie as it does not recognize them in Aperture or iPhoto.  From other dicussions I tried removing 3ivvxVideoCodec.componenet from Quiktime Library and retarted with no success, so iI restored the file.

    You are welcome;
there is another problem with videos, that might apply in your your case, when you reimport the videos, after you deinstalled the codec - the location you are importing from, and the permission settings, see this post:

  • How do i edit move file in pre elements

I shot in a canon 60d  the footage is not supported in pre elements ,how do i edit move file in pre elements

    issac
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
When you write "move" file, do you mean "movie" file?
Do you have QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements? If not, please do so.
Generalizing because you did not give all the details, I would say that the Canon 60D AVCHD.mov file should be supported by
Premiere Elements as long as you have QuickTime installed on the same computer with Premiere Elements.
Please review and consider and supply more details.
We will be watching for the details.
    Thank you.

I'm new to the Apple products. How can I view pdf files and videos since Apple and Adobe don't play together? Also, what operating system does the iPhone use? I'm a Windows person.

You may want to download and read the manual for your phone. It may answer a lot of the basic questions.
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#iphone
There is an app on your phone called "Mail". Yes, it's for reading your email.
    Best of luck.
